All the cutting you did to the shoulder straps seems like it wouldn't be a very sturdy bag. You should've left it alone. And, sewing the bottom of the bag instead of the ties seems like it would've been a way cuter bag. And maybe less stuff falling out of your bag.
you need to turn it inside out then cut the strips...
