@GoldfinchGarden Lake Effect snow is amazing how it falls just in certain areas. Just a few miles down the road from here could only have a few inches to the over two feet here. All depends on how the winds come over the lake and in what direction.. Thanks for stopping by and commenting..

Wow! Very intense and beautiful. Giving me flashbacks to the snow I got last year where I had to shovel the roof for the first time in my life:) This year has been way to tame on the east coast...only two 5 inch storms...last year we had over 50 inches at this time... I love the spring to winter shot:)) Tell the lakes to blow that snow to me next time:D

@seahue I remember that video you posted last year with that big snowfall you had! I like snow and all but sometimes it is a bit much. I have lived here my whole life though so we all know what to expect along the lakeshore ;-) Just have to deal with it or move.. Watch out what you wish for, a big coastal storm is a brewing LOL! just kidding..

2ft of snow in 24 hr, that's very impressive!! In Calgary, we don't get that much snow but we get very cold temperatures. Right now, at 11am we have -22F. Yesterday with the wind it was -40F!!! Great video! Kind regards, Walter

@walterdomanski That is pretty darn cold up there... I'm not sure if I would take the snow over the extreme cold like that or not? Lake Erie sure plays havoc at this time of year for us that live in the Snow Belts arond the Great Lakes.. We can get some incredible amounts in a short period of time that is for sure.. Oh my god! We had some snow here in buffalo (about 4-5 inches) but nothing like this! And same up here, all winter long we have gotten maybe 2 inches of snow for a few days and everything else has been like 40 degrees, which as you know is crazy for this time of year. The 14th was our first day of real snow, but we didn't get anywhere near as much as you did! Great video! I had no idea you guys got so much snow on saturday!

@Cheerio753 Yeah, you know how it gets up there in Buffalo when the Lake Effect snow sets in :-) It was falling just right over us on Saturday and this is what happens.. Now we had two days near 50 and most has melted but a new round of snow is supposed to be here overnight... It was nice to be home when this happened also and not have to go into work.. I hate driving in the snow! Thanks for coming by and commenting Ryan.

This really is a winter wonderland ! Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. Nice to see so much snow for a change - I read about the Lake effect snowfall. But despite of all the beauty, there is of course the downside of having to shovel loads and loads of snow ! Not good for the back !

All WE had so far was a bit of sleet rather than snow - and it didn´t last ... our winter has been unusually mild so far, too ! But I do still hope for snow in the second half of january or in february.

@BeaverCreekHome It seems this Winter has been warmer most everywhere now.. but things are changing ;-) The Lake has its good and bad but the good outweighs the bad though. Summers are real nice here and a bit cooler with the lake water. Hope you get some of that snow your wanting! Thanks for stopping by..

@Grandpa2one There are times I can get sick of living near the lake. This Winter has been good though, so far, except for this one account now of snow. We also get a LOT of cloudy days through the year because of the lake and that gets to me more so than the snow. Thanks for commenting!

WOW!!!! I just cleaned up my walkway and driveway as it snowed the past 2 days in Vancouver as well and more snow is in the forecast for the upcoming week. Nothing as bad as yours though. Stay warm and stay safe my friend.

@NaturesFairy Before this snowfall we had only gotten a few inches of snow and that is unheard of being in the snowbelt of Northeastern Ohio.. So we are paying for it now :-) It is bright and sunny now though and I just finished shoveling for the last time and getting some of that snow off the outer edges of the roof.. Yeah, I wanted to add what the front yard looked like before the snow as compared to with so much of it. Watch out for those Nor'easters you get over by you... Thanks...

@legendofwayne It is neat to get this much snow at times but it was a little hard to stay on top of it when it was falling. Shoveling it all at once is to much so I didn't mind having to shovel 6 times..

Oh, boy! That is truly beautiful and hurts at the same time...:) I feel your pain of shoveling it and the travel can be very dangerous too, unless you can stay home for awhile...I hope, you can. It was nice it happened on the weekend and I did not have to drive into work in this stuff, let alone not be able to shovel every couple hours to stay on top of it.. Oh Chris, how beautiful is your capture of your summer garden and the winter garden. What a differance has nature made to it..Seems like a fairy tale episode :) You are really lucky to experience these changes in nature !! In London we still havent seen snow and love to see it.. Only Scotland had some snow..I watched your video twice and thoroughly enjoyed it..

@lmmsl Thanks Menu :-) Winter for the most part this year has been warm.. that is good except that it keeps Lake Erie warmer also and then when it gets cold like this the Lake Effect snow really dumps on us. Lake Erie is usually frozen at this time and the lake effect shuts down but since it has been so warm it is all open water. Glad you liked the video :-)
