i think by pressing your 187 when you buff it into your skin you are probably destroying the fibres. It's a stippling brush and you're just supposed to keep stippling until you get an airbrushed finish. At least that's what I was told my a MAC make-up artist, I hear good things about the sigma 197 and sephora platinum airbrush brush for buffing liquid foundation though...
I used M.A.C. Studio fix fluid and M.A.C. concealer in the pot. I have the same problem matching my foundation, because the middle of my face is lighter than the outer and I am darker in the summer than the winter! So sometimes I use 2 foundation colors, one lighter one darker. I would go to a mak-up counter and have them match you, make sure you go with no make-up so they can do your whole face and make sure the color is right! Also make sure you can return it if it dosen't
