If you actually want to mod the Borderlands game, it's not very time consuming, but you must go into some game files out-of-game and mod some coding. It's much easier done than said :)

There's an entire website dedicated to modifying and enhancing the game to make every aspect of it better (which i've spent a lot of time doing. Time well spent)

I absolutely love this game. Mordeth definitely struck a lot of great points about the game. TRUST me, Borderlands is a TIME CONSUMING game that is a lot of fun. Multiplayer is the way for this game to be played, and to forward ports, download Simple Port Forwarding (program).

I have 54, 15 minute long episodes of a playthrough i'm working on for Borderlands. i'd be thrilled if I could entertain someone who's entertained me for so long. Episode 1 is on my channel auto-play :)

This isn't the first time they've combined a FPS and an RPG - have you tried Fallout3? It's actually a brilliant game, perhaps a little towards the RPG side than FPS, but a great game none the less!

@chrishird21 The biggest difference is the multiplayer. Having 3 friends in on the action if you are all roughly the same level makes it extremely rewarding and there is tons of replayablility (not really a word but you get the idea). I honestly can be in a group or by myself and each time I kill someone I find a new weapon that's even better than the one I have on me. It's crazy how much content this game has as far as weapons and enemies. Love love love this game.

Yeah internal firewalls on Routers are annoying. I was a pro with my linksys. Then I went to fiber optic's an have this actiontech router. An really it's not that much harder just way more advanced. It's just a lot more steps to get the port numbers to go through. By the way M13, you should check out this little app that is great for checking to see if your ports are open. It's called PFPortChecker. It really helped me making sure my ports were fully open. Cool video though man keep it up!

The game menus and interface are like that because it's a direct port from console, rather than the opposite. You're going to see this a lot now because PC gaming is pretty much well...dead. Modern Warfare 2 isn't even going to have dedicated servers on PC.

More or less, yes but we need to go back in time and review when PC gaming was the you know what. Max television resolutions were about 400, with standard definition and fuzzy RF connections. There was no online support, or any cool gadgets of today for consoles. The reasons people sat hunched over a keyboard was for this reason, so today there's really no reason to play PC ports except for elitism. I've had the exact opposite experience of M13 on the 360 version, it's been a blast.

And i love Borderlands! The story is kind of lame, but holy shit is the gameplay addictive. And I love the fact that it is like Diablo 2 where the gameplay gets harder after you beat it.

BTW, I know that the game is the best with co-op, but I *did* play it in single player, and it wasn't really that bad.

You can also tell this game was designed first for the consoles because of how rudimentary the options are.

Wow, I had never heard about Torchlight before. I went on Steam and downloaded the demo; it is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. It definitely captures that Diablo spirit perfectly. I read that some of the people who worked on the old Diablo games are on the development team, and it shows through in many aspects.

When I get paid this week, I think it's going to be the next game I buy. I think 20 dollars is reasonable enough for the game.

I was sort of averse to the cartoonish-looking graphics, but the more I played, the more I found it fit the overall presentation of the game. It wasn't trying to be dark and gloomy like the first Diablo was, but it DOES nail the gameplay almost down to a "T".

I heard the only real problem with the game is that the skills only reach up to level 25, and once you go past that point, the game sort of loses a bit of its appeal. Is this true, or am I just worrying too much?

You don't need a static IP to forward a port, btw.

You just need to link the correct port to the correct gateway. So if you're PC number 192.168.1.64 and your other pc that doesn't have the game is 192.168.1.65, you just need to link it to .64 - You can check it in CMD/IPConfig.

forwarding ports is super easy once u do it the first time. All u really need to know is how to look at ur IP and hopefully u remember the password to the router. Just type your Default gateway (if u find IP, Default gateway is below/around it) in your browser, go to forward ports/applications&gaming, and type in the ports that the game uses. Simple >.>

The firewall problems you had wouldn't have been an issue if your router supports uPnP. At least, it did for me. Is it just not enabled on the router?

I didn't have a problem with sound. I think it might have something to do with surround sound settings.
