  • To me, this just shows exactly how amazing this band is. The fact that they can pretty much do whatever they want to with their music and not really lose anything in the process is incredible. I agree with past comments I've seen, they really are the most underrated band I've ever heard.

  • The Agonist sent me here. (:

  • this is a great song! Love Candiria!

  • What a great christian band

  • Honestly? This song made me cringe. Its a far cry from the explosive creativity of Beyond Reasonable Doubt. I guess its cool that they didn't stop making music & its especially awesome that some alignment of stars brought on their former albums... but for me, this just isn't Candiria.

  • I dig this pretty good song, I really like the chorus.

  • This song makes me happy in the pants. :)

  • w/e ever happened to them?

  • un-fucking-believable!

  • cool stuff

  • Granted, this song and video are a bit underwhelming, if not outright lame. But it's still Candiria cousin. This band, in all of its incarnations, rocks harder, deeper, broader, and smarter than any contemporaries i can think of. Maybe Horse The Band, Look What I Did, or Foxy Shazam.

  • @TheMaestro40 Well fucking said, good sir.

  • @TheMaestro40 And I love all those bands just like Candiria

  • @sabrefang0 NOTHING is like candiria

  • @trippy0420 Uhh, read properly please. I was just mentioning how I love all the bands listed in TheMaestro40's comment. All the bands listed have a very individual sound.

  • i'm glad the singer isn't waht i thought he looked like

  • why did you have to do this, candiria.........why?

  • I definitely prefer early Candiria, but this remains one of my favourite songs, sue me.

  • Never heard this song from Candiria. Wow, color me im-fucking-pressed.

  • good songg!!!!!

  • Talented mothafuckas.

  • Wow a totally new style i love it

  • fucking love these guys....seen em like 4 times

  • moveself

  • So much wisdom in this song. Makes me sad for all the sleepers. A new galactic day is on the horizon.Wake up your friends/family/whoever you care about. The time is now.

  • You people who are knocking this song should reconsider. The message is pure and untainted and if they can get it out to more people, the better off we will all be.

  • i used to do a zine in the early 90's (90-91)they would send flyers to me for the demo they had out at the time.these dude were around for a long time so this is ok with me

  • This is an awesome song - He got a great voice and some excellent music. It makes me feel good.

  • this song is SICk... the vid makes me sad... kinda weak. Ill just listen W/O vid and check out their older shit

  • 95% of teens would cry if they saw the Jonas Brothers at the top

of a skyscraper about to jump Copy and paste this EVERYWHERE

if you are in the 5% that would shout 'Jump Motherfuckers!

  • omfg! he sucks..

  • Candiria used to have some awesome shows. I'm sure people just stand around now =/

  • Why don't you go and fucking beat the shit out of them then???

  • The lead singer deserves it for not taking care of his son for the first 10+ years of the kids' life.

  • The singing style reminds me of the Apex Theory

  • Actually, Candirias old stuff isnt all heavy, the main reason why this band is so incredible, is the range they have, jazz, hip-hop, hardcore, metal...they do a little bit of almost everything...just limiting them to heavy, is sacrilegious. Oh and POD? comn' now candiria paved the way for bands like that, POD can never dream of being this good.....

  • Candiria's old stuff is much heavier. That's not to say their new stuff isn't good, it's just not as heavy.

  • cant stop wacthing this song

  • i got in to theese guys a few days ago alsome songs

  • I got into em 8 years ago when 300% density came out.

  • wow this is actually good

  • fuckin awesome song

  • man i heard these guys hella long ago. Didn't start getting into them until recently. Lots of different good sounds i gotta say

  • they sound similar to POD mostly because of the singer. but i like these guys a little bit better and this is the only Candiria song i've heard !

Its funny because i first heard of this band in Guitar World Magazine..i also had read an article about skindred in the same issue

  • they sound like Queso of Philippines

  • To compare Candiria to POD and Skindred is an insult to Candiria. Go listen to some of their old shit and you'll know how ridiculous you sound. PS....POD SUCKS ASS

  • you heard any of their new stuff on their myspace? It's the most killer shit I've heard since 300% Density.

  • I agree!

  • shits strong, i don't know if i'm racist or not... but i only like metal when there's a black guy singin for the most part...

  • retard...

  • think what u want, but they always seem to catch my interest more, even when i don't know what they look like

but i do like deftones, disturbed(old stuff) and godsmack

  • well disturbed and godsmack isnt really metal, so i guess you dont like other singers because youre racist and you listen to shitty music, save candiria and deftones apparently.

  • awesome band touchy song i rated aaaa+++++

  • its like a mix of pod and skindrid lol

  • Listen to their old stuff and say they sound like POD

  • 2 long years iv looked 4 this song 2 long fuckin years wat a song

  • Sounds kinda like POD.

  • This song pwns.

  • and how. lol

  • What? So it doesn't? O.o

  • oh. no dude im agreeing with you. lol

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh.

  • lol i love how people talk shit about a band maturing. if you dont like there new shit. just leave it at that and shut the fuck up. Do you think Candiria cares if you think this song is shit?

  • he fucking sounds identical to the singer from flaw with the harmonies. still good band.

  • This is the first "technical" metal band I ever heard in high school and it's sad to see they're playing this crap now. I mean, it's good for what it is. But nothing like the extreme brutalness of the old albums. :(

  • I bought 300 Hundred Percent Density and tohught it was okay, but I was disappointed that you could barely hear the bass in most of the songs. I am a big bass fan, and Ithought this band would glorify the instrument, but they really didn't... at least not on that album.

  • insane band,very different,love it though

  • I MISS CARLY!!!!

  • Signs Of Discontent = fuckin' Hardcore in your face !!!

Remove Your Self = Piece of shit!!!

  • exactly!! im like what happened to candiria, i want to hear some faction, some temple of sickness. i miss the old Carley Coma. we all know he can sing hes black, but that ferocious scream that deep growl. that's what i want! bring back the old skool candiria bring back Kennith Shalk. there's no better drummer alive!!!

  • their older stuff was pretty solid, what doesn't kill you is pretty hit or miss. i still listen to them either way their. the diversity is always interesting.

  • I never paid close attention to candiria but i've always thought 300 percent density was one of the best albums out. this song sounds really watered down and not as original. It's still good, just not what I thought Candiria was.

  • Yes, it's commercial, but a great song... plus, Candiria is capable of so much more. I bet their next album will take it back to the roots of their style. They are my favorite band ever, up there with Meshuggah. Genious Musicians...

  • You realize, don't you, that there really ISN'T a Candiria anymore, right? And that even Carley is working with another band?

    wtf, srsly.

  • Actually, Candiria is still together (Michael and Kenneth left), but I don't think that they'll be releasing anything new anytime soon. Although according to their myspace page, they are releasing an album with songs that didn't make it onto other albums along with some other stuff.

  • No, they're not. Even Carly defected to another band (Hope Kills Fear), hello!

  • Thats another project he is in, he is still with Candiria.

  • Just can't accept that Candiria is done for, can you?

  • I'm just stating the facts.

  • No, you're stating the facts as you wish they were, not as they actually are.

Here's a hint. I have a slightly more personal connection to Candiria than you would think. My husband? Yeah, his sister is Carly's girl. I do, in fact, know WTF I am talking about.

  • You never paid attention to my first reply did you?

Another thing, why do you post comments on these videos when you clearly stated they suck on another video?

  • Even if they were still together it just wouldn't be 'Candiria' without Kenneth and Eric. I'd still like to hear "Kiss The Lie" eventually and look forward to any project put forth by any member. Not just a kickass band but kickass people as well.

  • I havent heard the album, but its foolish to assume that all the songs are this style. A lot of bands write at least one almost radio friendly song.

  • The song in itself isn't bad but the fact that it's Candiria and being familiar with there earlier work it's kinda disappointing to me. They've been put into a mold that was cast many years ago and I hate to say it, but they've become generic. If I heard this on the radio without any clue as to who it was I'm sure Candiria would be the furthest from my mind. But hey, they got to pay bills to I guess, so alot of the good independent bands have to go this route.

  • Maybe they didn't want to do the same thing forever. Carley can sing just as well as he can do the screams and growls from their older stuff.

  • nice Awesome

  • I like this tune. even if it might show up on the radio, so what?

  • they are good stop picking at them!!!sure its not like blood or any other songs they have done but they tried something new and you should be glad for that!!at least one band change style

  • well i dont agree with you, i think its tobad that they made this song but he what can i do about it:P, but you sad : AT LEAST ONE BAND CHANGE STYLE .... < thats no true 100000 of Greaat hard metal bands etc. are turning in to fucking puss.. Correct me if im wrong :) Cheers

  • terrible...compare this to temple of sickness and you will realize the horrific downfall.

  • last time i saw candiria live was at some small ass bar on houston. I love candiria, but baby this shit sucks!

  • oh no, he's whinning like an emo/indie band!! wtf??

damn you record execs for brainwashing bands to fit the mold of current trends!!!

  • SUCKS. Just another gay radio pop band.

  • You obviously haven't heard any other Candiria songs, they're far from pop.

  • hey rustyw5 have you heard any of the older shit??? this is just awful.

  • Yes I have, I like all the songs on "What Doesn't Kill You" and "300 Percent Density", along with older songs like "Mathematics", "Work In Progress", "Red Eye Flight", "Faction", "Paradigm Shift", etc...

  • @rustyw5 A band can have tough songs and soft songs... it's their choice

  • VERY,VERY,VERY far from pop. Actually their style could be defined a cross-over of metalcore and jazz. Actually this song is from their most commercial album, all their other productions are a lot different. Try listen "Costant Velocity is as natural as being at rest" for example.

  • Muy Bueno!!!

Parabéns, abraço dos Fan's do Brasil

    PAZ

  • YEAH!!!

  • OWNAGE!

  • They make one song like this and people have to say that its the end of the band. Just because they do one song that sounds softer, doesn't mean that every song on their album or every song in the future is going to sound exactly like this. Its not a bad sound; its just something different

  • The tear it up here and there throughout the song... and the end lil' part is badass.

  • you fuckin guys suck, really, go to hell just enjoy music in different syles and be free, listen to Meshuggah, Hacride, and many others, jazz, funk, blues, just be yourselfs hijos de puta!!!

  • I've been listening to this band for the last 12 years. This song is amazing! they do this style of music, better than most bands who make a living playing this style. Goes to show you how talented this guys are.

  • It took me years to get into these guys. I heard em live tons, but they were mostly experimenting.

  • Seriously, Carly & the boys have been at this for over a decade-

I saw them live in a small venue w/ about 125 people years before this album dropped-

That show is & prolly always will be one of the best live music performances IVE EVER WITNESSED!

Candiria is not only trend setting in its own right but also proven themselves to the world that they can make nearly any style of music appealing & beautiful/angry/groovy/urban/catchy/etcetc

Show respect where it is due, & know they have no bounds

  • To the people that comment about how bad this sucks or whatever just remember. Candiria IS & always will be ART. I think this tune & the album that its on is damn near brilliant &(a great WAY TO MAKE MONEY b/c they are a band & they have to eat right-RIGHT?!)!

SO, maybe they cant sell a lot of their old stuff & maybe they took a risk here & tried to appeal to a broader audience...! Where is the harm in not only doing something they have never done before & make some money WHICH THEY DESERVE!:P

  • Wow. Candiria went from a band that sounds like no other band in the world, to being a band that sounds like a thousand other bands. lame fucking shit.

  • all these years, and i never knew the singer of nickelback was black..LOL

....seriously, though. when did candiria start making big-hook pop-metal? smells like the sweet stink of sellout to me.

  • i do like this song but compared to the old stuff they took their experimental music a little far. they can definatly make up for it live though!!

  • dang this sucks, Old stuff is fucking kick ass though

  • This song is awesome, not heavy at all really but has a great melody to it.

I only knew candiria form their album "what doesn't kill you", i thought that was a pretty cool album.

So they're definitely split up now? That sucks.

  • "no breakdowns me no like"

-100% of the comments calling this "lame"

  • great song!!heard it on my headbangers companíon cd

  • Look people, Candiria has been setting trends in progressive & modern metal for over a decade. They are a truly artistic group that has always evolved & improvised their sound. I believe that this was an attempt to sell more albums and maybe be recognized on a bigger commercial scale...

  • what the fuck happened to cadiria they used to be brutal

  • yeah i know what you mean

  • So true...especially with those dark, eerie, sadistic sounding jazz breakdowns. They were one of a kind. Any metal band with a brotha rocking the fuck out gets props from me though

  • surprised hes not doing rap instead

    something suspecious is going on

  • thats funny

  • not to break anybodys heart but.....Candiria is dead! they are not coming out with another cd. Kenneth left the band to become a producer, and Coma lost all his money. They ain't comin back. If they do, they're gonna suck.

  • coma and kenneth have a new band called hope kills fear. you are right the old nyhc candiria died awhile ago.

  • holy shit, this sucks balls. atleast i still love their old shit. after 300% density for me it went downhill, even 300 itself was disappointing.

  • This song is fuckin awesome

well diffrent from there normal style which is tech wizardry

    love em

  • i love candiria

    ROCK ON GUYS!

  • I love this song..even though it not tyical Candira....

  • I've came to notice that Black singers make Rock/Metal more interesting and its usually better.

This guy is a amazing vocalist.

  • i agree, sevendust singer is black and he amazing too

  • Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, God Forbid, Carnal Forge, Bad Brains, Hand to Hand, all have black singers and they're good.

  • thanks, i'll check out those that i don't know in this list.

  • This is nowhere near the worst song I've ever heard. This is actually pretty interesting. Reggaeton and Mathcore mixed together. Cool.

  • reggaeton..??

i think you mean reggea. -Ton is slightly different sounding

  • why is there always some dickhead talking about a black person as a rock singer as if its some revolutionary idea ? or as if they need to not move their arms and be all stiff like some lame robot , to be more rock n roll? jimi hendrix invented this hard shit , so shut up and take the gifts we have all been given from people like muddy waters , taj mahal , ledbelly, prince and so on and so on . save the race card and listen to the music . these fuckers are sick.

  • i couldn't have said it better my friend

  • so sad.

  • That is the fucking worst candira song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, they sold out.

Still a decent musical song. I like their older stuff better..much better.

  • I abhor the way you think melody equates to "selling out"... Last time i checked, they were still booking their own tours and driving themselves around to their own shows in a van without any crew...

  • Bro, when you are a metal band and then you start writting pop songs you have sold out. Using name recognition as a means to write pop songs is lame. And apparently you haven't checked very often, because the drummer left and their website no longer exists.

  • That's funny.....like metal bands don't write pop songs.

  • Candiria were never a 'metal' band in the first place. They've always fused different styles. Their older sound from 300% density and earlier had more in common with jazz than it did with metal. Almost every Candiria record to be released has one or two hiphop tracks with guest rappers featuring so why aren't you calling that 'selling out" just because it's "different"?

  • Precisely because those hip hop songs were very different and not radio grabbing pop songs, which is the direction they went in later on. I still liked the later stuff, but it wasn't Candiria... it was a different style w/ the same band name

  • Your definition of "pop" music is quite an odd one :)

  • Couldn't believe this when I heard it, it's like Hootie And The Blowfish or 311. One band that was so ahead of everyone else.

  • i think their older stuff was more creative and unique, but its nice to hear that they can produce a simple rock cd and still be better than over half the shit out there. by the way i heard the lead singer is trying to put together a whole new cd. hes lookin for guitar players and bass players. If ur interested, give it a shot. Just go to Candiria's website and hes got ways to get in touch from there.

  • There sound changed alot, i believe it sounds great, i believe that the crash that they were involved in had something to do with it. The front cover of this album for this song was their van. I think it made them a bit mor appreciated about life in general. To tell you the truth, i did not like there older stuff as much. What doesn't kill you is a great album...Remove yourself is by far one of there greatest songsThe arm and hand movements are not necessary for a song like this though.

  • yeah, the guitar player(his name is Eric, by the way) said that the lead singer now lives in a crappy apartment in New York, because he never invested his money like Eric did

  • the guitar player lives next door to me, he would always joke about how every time his songs were played at Nascar or something, he would get this huge-ass paycheck

  • 300% density is the most insane, evolved album I have heard since Angel Dust.....some of you will disagree and send me hate mail-I welcome the criticism :)

  • OMG :O What is this ... crap? Linkin Park wanna-be music.

    >>why is this "crap", Because they experimented, evolved and broadened their sound?<<

Khm, I wouldn't call this evolving, nor experiment, it's more like devolving into predictable and boring mainstream.

To each their own I guess, I myself prefer their early albums, crazy stuff!

  • This is a great song!

  • great song...nice band

  • why is this "crap", Because they experimented, evolved and broadened their sound?

  • seriously. i'm sure they got really fucking bored with playing song after song without a chorus, and i'm sure that carley wanted to sing too, and i bet the band wanted to play something a little different. bands and music have to evolve and change. why not candiria? if at least for just a few songs on the new cd?

  • When I bought this CD, I thought they got a new lead singer! After all those years of hearing Carley scream and growl, how knew the brotha could sing?! I loked this CD. I wasn't as hard as the prior CD's, but more musical and accessible. Candiria is still in my top 5 ever!!!

  • they sucked on this CD, check out their earlier stuff, much much MUCH better then this crap

  • black or not, rapper or not they rock most hard!

  • I notice that there's a lot of narrow minded people on this page. Yeh he's black, get over it, wat about Jimi Hendrix, and to the person who said he looks like a rapper, he Carley Coma is in fact a very good rapper and it adds a great dimension to their music, check out their album 300% density that album pushed music to the limit. In comparison with that album this song falls way below their standards, that was candirias peak for sure, pity some members have left the band,

  • does anybody have this song? i'd love it so much

  • cool song yeah!

  • OH SHYT I USE TO LIVE BY THERE AND MY COUSINS AND FRIENDS LIVE ON THOSE STREETS that 179st and thats the g.w bridge! lol

  • have no idea where candiria has gone with their music...now they sound like every other lame band out there. . . where's the crunchy driving guitars in signs of discontent or C.O.M.A. ,,, fairly disappointing to say the least. . .

  • this song is cool, and is perfect for a comercial video, but doesnt represent the real agressive and progression of their music!

  • LMAO a black dude doing rock
