You needa slow down when showing how to do the folds. I been doing origami for ages but just cant get the jist of how you ended up with 8 legs because i keeps getting 6.

I had the same problem, If you end up with 6 legs, then on each side there will be one of the pieces that needs to be cut in half, that gives you the 7th and 8th leg.
