Both; it was through school that I was introduced to After Effects and was taught the basics. But it was from my own messing around that I was able to do that. Also, it was because of the Hockey Broadcast that Bethany does that I did it (I'm the graphics producer for the broadcasts).

Yes, as a matter of fact, I did; using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
