  • Those moves came straight from Scotland.

  • ...so thats why David Byrne is so skinny

  • Alex Wier. The keyboard guy is Bernie Worrall ex Parliament/Funkadelic.

  • Whos the guitarist? He is good, and its hard to play clean like that when your doing jumping jacks!

  • @TheCoughlm Alex Wier! He used to play in a band called The Brothers Johnson. They had somewhat of a hit with a song called Strawberry Letter #25 or something like that

  • @tralfamadorian42 strawberry letter 23!! The bassline is so funky in that song! I love it

  • @DavidJF123 YEAH! Thats the one! Hahaha yeah its got that bit where the music cuts out and he just goes to town slapping that bass! I'm gonna look it up now...

  • I have a question...CAN I GET SOME OF THT COKE :D

  • 7 people don't want or can't dance with David Byrne?..sorry for that lol

  • @1:22 FTW

  • Why cant music like this still come out today s bands need more drugs

  • Alltime great. The duwop girls are super. And the business suit gal on the bass. OMg!

  • this must be (have been) the best gig in the history of music.....imagine being there.....I am :-)

  • David Byrne: The only genius to span both music and exercise videos - all at the same time no less.

  • What Happened to LIVE MUSIC? This is LIVE MUSIC!

  • Damn!

  • I was going to say the besides Dire Straits and the Black Crowes, the Talking Heads were the only 80s bands that I really liked, but after double checking, I was wrong on all counts, Dire Straits and the Talking Heads both got their starts in the 70s and the Black Crows in 1990.

  • Does anybody have any questions??? HaHaHa so cool!!!

  • Just sooo goood!!!!!

  • tina is such a babe

  • This is sooooooo good. Wish bands these days would compose something to this standard.

  • Part of the secret of what's going on here is the keyboard player on the far left. If you look at earlier performances of this band, you'll see this is much higher energy and it has everything to do with that keyboard player. He transformed this band.

  • @ironlion37 Bernie Worrell! He transformed P-Funk and every other band he was in!

  • @malbuff Apparently Bernie wanted to wear something bright purple on stage, but it clashed with the muted tones of everyone else's outfits, so they found him the palest purple tank top they could get their hands on :-)

  • BRING BACK REAL MUSIC

  • @BudaPond101 There is real music. You just got to pock around.

  • One best bands ever.

  • The most talented genius ever!!!!

  • genius....shame i miised them life

  • So this is how he stays so thin.

  • Thank you! Anybody have any questions?

  • 1:32 amazing

  • 5 people were hoping this was a party or a disco.

  • i luv it at 2:56 even Tina is looking at David Bryne as to say WOW

  • I love Talking Heads, and this song means much more to me now then then, thank you for sharing.

  • One of the best concerts I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot...

  • Wow, probably the greatest rock performance I've ever seen.

  • Dammit- I have questions. Is this a timeless rock webinar?

  • Does anybody have any questions?

  • Does any one see Gord from the hip at all ?

  • It's all based on tribal dances adn voodoo

  • Since 1983 I haven't been able to hear this without doing that startle head jerk thing. I'm sure it looks interesting to others in rush hour.

  • "Thankyou. Does anybody have any questions?"

    Nope. That answered everything.

  • Fuck they were good.

  • What's the name of the blond girl?

And what a stage work out. I'm worn out just watching them. Lol

  • @Rizzail06 That's Tina Weymouth on bass

  • 4 people don't like great tunes and stage presence.

  • I don't really care for race music, but thank you! :)

  • David Byrne is the only singer in history who can deliberately look and move like an awkward nerd yet still look and sound awesome.

  • Some peanut butter, to last a couple of days

  • the sound of gunfire out in the distance !!

  • thank you TheGokitchen , syncronicity my friend , we have common souls ...

  • heard about Houston, heard about Detroit, heard of Pittsburgh, PA!!!!!

  • what an amazing performance!!

  • Awesome

  • Heard of a band-loaded up and ready to go...

  • David Byrne's dancing is spectacular, Jesus H. Christ in a chicken bucket.

  • @frrrrrunkis the original rubber band man!!! Dancing at CBGB's

  • 4 people be foolin' around

  • ...at The Pantages...and I was there! I actually DID have some questions, but... LOL

  • Damn, Tina was hot back then. Chris knew a good bass player when he saw one, eh? LOL

  • Does anybody have any questions?

  • @bobbylibby umm yes is it true that you should rap it before you tap it. And bigger girls provide more cusion for the pushin? Should all women anticipate the angle of the dangle?

  • Forget moves like Jagger. I want moves like Byrne!

  • Your new workout video.

  • those were the days! Saw them 4 times live, but the best was during the "big suit" tour at Forest Hills. Was this the same tour? JMS

  • Love the kick at 3:02

  • damn that was a party right there!

  • I've seen many, many great concerts... this tour remains in my memory as certainly one of the best.

  • This ain't no party....this ain't no disco....this ain't no fooling around. Never, ever forget that!

  • They must have burnt a lot of calories that night.

  • God I wish I had a time machine. epic!

  • I actully played drums with Steve Scales while in the Marine Drum and Bugle Team back in the 60's - 70's. He was a great percussionist even then.

  • Tina Weymouth is gorgeous.

  • @dancinginfernal Yeah and I met about two months back here in Cardiff. Shhok her hand too. My son had his photo taken with her!

  • 4 people are idiots.

  • this is the best concert dvd ive ever cared to watch and wish i was alive to have been there

  • "I don't even know my own name!"

  • saw this tour on the SIU-C campus. Go Salukis. when he started jogging around the stage the crowd went ape-shit.

  • @bdfilms01 i am a Saluki too, graduate of 75, got to see Tull, Doobie Brothers, Jefferson Starship, Sly and the Family Stone, Chicago and J geils while i was there, all good shows. Wish I could have seen Heads live!!

  • saw this tour on the SIU-C campus. Go Salukis.

  • Hahah I saw Byrne get mad at my brother in law for using the word "Crusader" to ask how Byrne got so involved in road bicycling at a speech last year. Great artist but, I mean come one dude, it's just a word!

  • Yeah, Byrne's really good, whatever. Let's get to the bottom line. TIna is so freakin' cute I can't stand it.

  • wish i was there :(

  • Byrne @ his manic bestest:)

  • I could never get tired of TheTalking Heads music! Awesome! Energy at its finest moment!

  • Possibly the best concert film ever made.

  • @tulliotk1 The Last Waltz isn't too shoddy.

  • Not cocaine, amphetamines.

  • "I've changed my hairstyle soooo many times I don't know what I look like."

  • No David, I have no questions. I'm convinced that this was the funkiest band in America. The supporting musicians were all having a ball making this music soar...The movie reviews said "...the music explodes off of the screen." , must have meant this song in particular. Wow!! This just gets better every time I see it.

  • David Bryne, genius. Talking Heads, one of a kind. Here at their prime. Excellent.

  • I t makes me smile when I see the wide angle view of the lower floor musicians go into their little "jogging" routine. When the TH were together and laying down these funky sounds they got a lot of use out that energy level. It wasn't just the Movie theater that exploded when the TH were in town. Maybe the energy and the violence were suggested by the songs lyrics.

  • Weird. This clip has been sped up somehow.

  • I like the style that he has.

  • "What good are notebooks? They won't help me survive."

  • I have a question David: what's your secret? you know, being the coolest motherfucker on earth, how do you do it?

  • Absolutely love it. This is what real music is.

  • This makes me want to go jogging

  • Co-co-cocaine.

  • Gotta love Tina Weymouth *___* !! Bad ass bass player !! My parents called me Martina after her , and this makes me so freaking proud !! X-DDD .

  • @martin88reisereise I've always been impressed with her, bass guitars are infamously hard for women to play.

  • whatever they threw in, who cares...., perhaps it was just fun, great timeless piece of music, loved in then, love it now, thanx for posting!!

  • LSD

  • Love the aerobics on the bridge!

  • I can't play and dance in same time.

  • @Lonesomeswan Regardless, I'm sure there were very popular acts from the era that you absolutely dread.

  • At 1:27 I just started laughing. I wish I could get away with that.

  • sop making sense en dit was is muzieke met echte energioe en een totale eenheid ze lopen het helenummer allemaal hard op de voorste rij met gitaren en vocals

  • david byrne should have an exercise dvd

  • @DunnRightVideos

If you find this weird , youre not on the same level as the rest of us!

  • @basedee I find it weird in a complimentary way. I love it!!!!

  • wierd

  • i wanted to live 30 years ago. why must i live with pitbull and usher?

    this is real music!!!

thanks dad for showing this to me!

  • @stefantjevideo Talking Heads only had marginal mainstream success even in the 80s. For every group like They Might Be Giants or Talking Heads there's always a much more popular Bon Jovi and Madonna analog. There's plenty of great music being made right now, it's just not being played on the radio.

  • I am pretty sure that is a young Bernie Worrell playing with them on this.

  • I read that David Byrne rides a bike a LOT! I think he's just in that kind of condition. No coke needed. Hopefully his amazing creativity also comes about without... artificial stimuli.

  • Considering the era, I too suspect the coca leaf fueled the high speed burn around the stage. No problem for me.

  • DID YOU KNOW THIS MOVIE WAS DIRECTED BY THE SAME GUY WHO DID SCILENCE OF THE LAMBS??? JOHATHAN DEMME!!!

  • @olympus138 second that

  • Comment removed

  • I think I'll just run around the fucking stage during the solos.

  • By far the most worthwhile band of the '80s.

  • 1:22 to 1:50 - David's dancing was totally influenced by Andy Kaufman's.

  • 2:50 I love how the band is trying to figure out what he is doing when he lowers the mike and sings "around" in a circle. Unlike all the new hip hop "stars", he really can dance and sing at the same time.

  • Great video, sooooooo much energy. awesome dancer.

  • i love how much he puts into his performance and yet he does not compromise the music at all.

  • @hannad123100 just like any great performer, the more you put into it, the better it is

  • @hannad123100 shut up

  • he should have been a marathon runner...

  • love love love talking heads...

  • possibly the best dancer ive ever cared to watch

  • @ibanique he epitomizes the saying "dance like no one's watching".

  • lots of coke it was the 80s afterall

  • Once the whole video is loaded, hit "3" repeatedly

  • I use the Stop Making Sense DVD as my workout videos pretty often! I love David Byrne's moves haha :)

  • byrne has admitted to taking loads of coke around this time

  • My favorite TH song.

  • you can burn off calories just watching this performance...great!

  • best live performance ever. (yes, I have seen many)

  • i like to look at the world not listen music gives you the noise and the world gives you the vision and its up to me / you to make up your own life

  • Spread your wings David Byrne! also Tina is looking foxy

  • WHAT AN EXPERIENCE IT MUST HAVE BEEN TO BE AT THAT CONCERT, omg omg if humans can ever travel in time, this would be the first stop for me!!

  • Byrne has got to be some sort of idiot savant, he isnt a rock star but yet he rocks! I didnt like him or the heads in the day, but they are awsome!

  • So So Terrific!!!! Hey, I'm an old lady who just discovered this group and this song a few years ago...can't get enough of it!!!!

  • @prjeri Now that is #epic!!! :)

  • 3 people don't have so much coke :-D

  • 3 people cant dance and are pretty jealous!

  • freaking hilarious.

  • He still looks goodl.........................

  • BEST. CONCERT. FILM. EVER.

  • I should work out to this song via watching this video. Why this never occured to me before now is a mystery. I
