Part of the secret of what's going on here is the keyboard player on the far left. If you look at earlier performances of this band, you'll see this is much higher energy and it has everything to do with that keyboard player. He transformed this band.

I t makes me smile when I see the wide angle view of the lower floor musicians go into their little "jogging" routine. When the TH were together and laying down these funky sounds they got a lot of use out that energy level. It wasn't just the Movie theater that exploded when the TH were in town. Maybe the energy and the violence were suggested by the songs lyrics.

For every group like They Might Be Giants or Talking Heads there's always a much more popular Bon Jovi and Madonna analog. There's plenty of great music being made right now, it's just not being played on the radio.
