What seems odd to me, is that while they're taught since childhood to put the collective above individuality, is that they're obviously strong personalities. This system is flawed to high heaven, ex-hutterite here, get barrage of calls for monetary assistance from next of kin still back in the colony..specially this time of year, this is an advanced form of slavery,most of these people are miserable as hell, they get no compensation whatsoever, their kids are taught from childhood on that leaving is against the will of God, so fear is the element that glues them together in most cases, alcoholism is prevalent, political rivalries are common.

i grew up in a colony, trust me when i say its a cult they will never show you the shit that is going on behind the scene. making a living and doing the community thing is one thing but there is more than what meets the eye here. just watching this video gives me the creeps. truly a nest full of unclean birds!
