Violence against Christians are rising because the untouchables in Hinduism are leaving the religion and are joining Christian denominations because they are sick of the caste system rules.
Maoists killed the Hindu leader purposely to agitate a region that is extremely prone of religious violence so that they can get the poor Christian communities to side with the Maoists and thus giving them a stronger foothold in India.
All i know is that unless the government and people fix these problems, its going to get out of hand real fast and India will experience a bloodshed like never before...

China and Russia funnels money to Maoists and Marxist groups, United states funnels money to missionary groups for mass conversion mostly under the premises of food, water, and shelter in exchange for your conversion. Both of these are just for the purpose of tearing India apart, to have a tight fist over an emerging power, rich in resources, manpower a country that was united in faith and belief. It seems that the latter virtue that this country has is all but broken.
Violence of any kind will never solve anything but to tear apart the foundations of a country that is rich in democracy, heritage and faith is even worse. You can basically draw a parallel from this towards a person who has been mentally tortured; his spirit is broken, whatever belief he had is lost and that itself is worse than death.

Pretty much, the ancient tradition of India is completely misunderstood by westerners. Hinduism is so intertwined within the very people of India, it is a shame that people are rejecting such a unique and magnificent culture which is the oldest in the world.
