The really fantastic thing about Queen Rania is that she IS a political figure, but she is so different from other politicians. The breed I am used too: avoid questions; mock other people and focus on their own power. Her majesty is direct, concise and intelligent and she doesn't gain anything from what she's doing. She is a shining example of how our politicians should be acting. I'm half Jordanian and this woman makes me extremely proud of that.
@christophcooneyoff I agree with a lot of that but she did actually avoid the question about whether she had a "different sense" regarding the new peace talks. She instead said WHY there needed to be a resolution.
@superlulud Yes she's advocating Palestinian rights, where have you been? She has a charity called "Bayti Filisteen" raising funds for Palestinian education. Shes also had countless interviews (CNN included) defending the Palestinian cause.
You're Majesty , I hope you will read my comment : I wanted to say and give thanks at first for you and this prodigious Idea that you launched this channel , but the thing is : why should we focus on how Americans think about us(the middle eastren)-the bad way they think- or how do they find -the bad image of us- , rather than focusing on all the good things that Americains think about us , even how small that is.... if we think about good thoughts we bring good things towards us,,
@truthadvocate I should probbaly just point out, she wasn't born a royal, she married one.
as for the "theft & voilence" thing, i can guarantee that you are wrong. some of the royal families may have gained wealth and power that way, but a lot have not. just as wrong as it is to group people into classes, its also wrong to take one class of people and assume they all got their power and influence in negative ways.
@ClochesJerusalem I agree with your comment !!! Its wrong to categorize or classify one group of people for the actions of a few !!! There are still a lot of Monarchs in this world that have done a very good job for their people even when the democratic form of governments have repeatedly failed them !!! And as for HM Queen Rania and HM King Abdullah, I don't think they have done anything wrong considering the situation in the Middle East !!!
I'm sorry, but the interviewer is incredibly ignorant and patronising here.
She is a very very intelligent woman, you don't need to talk to her like a stupid child just because she's not from the US.
Also, very rude how after her extremely intelligent and well-spoken remarks about tolerance and moderates vs. extremists he just said "moving on to another topic".
@LylesgoldMusic Calm your horses, inconsequential parts (like his response) have clearly been clipped of this video. Also, interviewees always know what questions they're going to be asked long before the actual interview so relax haha ! But yes she is clearly passionate and smart, a business graduate, so what else can you expect !
@ashutos7 .. Look .. I am real 'Jordanian' .. so .. after reading your words, I am sure you have no idea about what happening in Jordan and what this woman and her relatives are wreaking there.

Do you know that she's originally Palestinian? Does she even care about the Palestinians? A woman with that much power could at least try to help the children in Palestine. It's really embarrassing!
@SuperLULUD What can be done when the US has been brainwashed into believing that Palestinians are all terrorists? If you so much as utter a word against the occupation of Gaza, in some places you'll immediately be denounced as a Nazi. Just look at George Soros, and he's Jewish himself.
@SuperLULUD Ironically enough, the US is the only place where that's the case. Even in Israel people openly voice their opinions on the Gaza occupation, many of them against it. Some of Israel's harshest critics are themselves Jewish as well as Israelis, and only in America would they be labeled Nazis. The Israelis themselves don't consider it racist when their nation is called on to act responsibly, so why should America?
@SuperLULUD She IS helping. She was in Bahrain last week and raised over a million dollars from Madrasati Filasteen (My School Palestine) initiative which is renovating schools in East Jerusalem. She IS supporting her people.
queen rania wants to talk about girl up cambing and then he start to ask about the quran problems in florida the the palestainain israelli problems , which is she was not alowed to talking about educations how important what she will do!!
@94Cadaver agree .. and those who say that she just got lucky in life are just JEALOUS .. She have the care, humanity and mind that most rich "LUCKY" people don't have

Your Majesty, Queen Rania is an amazing human being and woman. She is an inspiration on education, on charity, on tolerance, on peace. She is really educated, active, determined and humane. Her points of view are really wise.
I'm very glad to have this chance to know her, many women should hear about her and see how amazing she is.
Of course she is nice.. she's rich.. she never has problems.. or at least they aren't radical. Im not judging her, I'm just saying it's easy to be humble and good when you'Ve got everything.
Queen Rania got the bottom line. It's not Muslims against Christians or east against west. It's all kinds of extremists against all kinds of moderates.
@Nawas7 It's the extremists against each other, and moderates are caught in the crossfire, conscripted to fight. By extension, though, her quote is perfectly true.
@Nawas7 Exactly - the irony is that extremists on all sides don't realize how much they have in common with each other. Sadly, one of their main similarities is that they love fighting. I wholeheartedly support the work being done by Rania and moderates and non-cynics all over the world. Don't be discouraged!
@truebeaut ... she does. she has an organization called MADRASATI. It's strictly aimed at GUARANTEEING jordanian children have an education of good quality. The organization has been doing wonderful too.
Since Princess Diana i haven't seen someone who can combine charisma, commitment to charity and extraordinary beauty as well as Queen Rania does. She is exactly what a real queen should be. A hands on woman, not just someone who's rule by protocol. Queen Rania is the best.

Actually, ultimately it IS East against West, Moslems against Christians. All Arab states are either failed states or simply do not follow the rule of law.
Correlation is not causation. Give women proper food, opportunity for exercise and sunshine and maternal mortality is naturally low. Its not so good that QR inadvertantly reinforces the myth that normal birth is intrinsically dangerous.
Although literacy can help women access resources and move beyond traditional fears, we still have to look at the chaos of war and unjust distribution of resources causing extreme poverty, and thus bodies incapable of withstanding the stress of birth.
@givebirthathome i may have misheard but I believe her majesty said that children born to educated mothers are more likely to live past the age of 5 and nothing addressing infant mortality in respect to natural childbirth
@vspink714 Yes, you are right about what she said. I was addressing the implication of what she said, which would give the impression that somehow education is necessary to handle childbirth, rather than simply being correlated with better outcomes.
What I like and respect most about our Queen is that she believes in what she says, and more importantly she acts upon these believes, not like other influential people who say things to please but do nothing about it...
All the best for you Queen Rania and I hope you are better after your operation, may God bless you with the good health and the true love you deserve... Amen
While I respect Queen Rania attempts to improve relationships with the West, she should be more concerned about the needs of her people. Jordan like all Arab countries is still a third world country. Fighting the corruption in their government should be the priority, not appearing on the Today's show or blogging.
"my fear is the debate is dominated by the radicals on both sides" Yes it is, and why are their voices the ones that get the most attention. Give people like the Queen more airtime.
Many people talk about world peace but very few actually do anything to work towards it. Your initiatives are going to make the world a more peaceful place for our children's children.
And if anyone feels like there should be a similar initiative for boys, feel free to step up to the plate and do something about it.
@PersianPaladin Yes, She is !! .. why should that matter anyway? .. She respects Humans regardless there religion, nationality or anything else .. isn't that enough to show some respect!
you should be ashamed of insulting somebody who is probably more muslim than you'll ever be. Dress like a "muslim" and recite by heart sourates doesn't make you muslim. Act with fairness, spreading justice and happyness around you regardless of how you dress is being muslim..I guess someone has to read deeply the Qur'an.... Ask God to forgive your filthy mouth... Evil is in mind before being in appearance.... No wonder people think muslims are retards based on your comment.
Let me get this right.. If you give a girl a little chance, they're likely to make something out of it..Boys don't do that ey?
I get that girls are being discriminated against in many islamic countries, and in the biggest part of the rest of the under developed countries. I get why they need a helping hand. That doesn't change anything about this campaign being sexist. I dislike any campaign only dealing with one of the sexes. That's not equality, it's sexism.
She's being too biased towards women when she should provide as much rights and care for males too as it is not the child's fault for being born a female or a male.
@ashthegreat In the developing world, including the non-Moslem developing world, girls are so discriminated against they are even aborted. When they aren't, they are underfed, whatever money is available will be spent sending their brothers to school, and they may even be sold into prostitution.
I'm not too fond of this campaign anyway, but one shouldn't put one's own issues onto a global culture that we Americans are quite under-informed about, due to our atrociously bad media. (See the TED
talk on how little the networks spend on foreign correspondents..better yet, watch Al-Jazeera, which does have some in-depth coverage of places like Bangladesh and Bolivia)
Finally, as offensive as these sexist initiatives are, where is our offense at RECOGNITION of "royalty"? Our founding fathers, like William Penn, spent time in jail for refusing to honor class inequality. Mrs. al Abdullah, aka Queen Rania is a good person, but this is still an issue. I've seen a creeping adulation
of royalty in American society for about 25 years, and it is regressive to respect for every person.
Its funny to hear people complain about (fantasized)creeping Sharia law and yet swallow something real like this. The reason the Saudis have so much abuse is because they have real monarchy. The Iranians, with real but limited democracy, don't do things like forcing schoolgirls into a burning building because they don't have hijabs on. How is supporting the idea of royalty a good thing?
As for the blanket idea that "schooling is good"...that is wrong.
Knowledge is good.
It can be gained in other ways than schooling.
George Washington is estimated to have had about 9 months of formal schooling, Abraham Lincoln, similarly.
I wish Sugata Mitra was hot and had married the King of Jordan, because he knows how children really learn! As do American homeschoolers, who despite often having parents with only highschool educations, do better than average on academic tests, and more
importantly, *years* better than there schooled peers on tests of emotional maturity.
Is it really a better world if everyone knows calculus, but no one can, say,
sustain a marriage?
Schooling can easily, and usually does, destroy both culture, *and* individual integrity. Anyone who objects to gov't healthcare should certainly object to UN programs of mass forced schooling, especially as they have become so obsolete for the delivery of information in the computer age.
In addition to sexism and classism, we also see Age-ism in this program.
What could be uglier than development through leaving the old behind?
Why "schools", little ghettos for the young? Why not community learning institutions,
why not libraries?
Well, things are going to be (mostly) what these huge forces are creating them to be, but by thinking about them, perhaps we can divert them to being a little more humane, relationship and culture respecting.
My father says, you can tell whether someone is saying something true, by how angry it makes you.
There must be something here in what I said, that is important for you; some part of you wants to know, hence the urge to read it three times, some part doesn't, hence the "can't figure out what you want to tell us".
If you watch Sugata Mitra's talk on the TED channel, you should begin to understand what I am trying to tell.
@ahmadzai6 Yes, Islam does have proper decorums on appearance. However, it is what a person is really like inside that makes him or her a good Muslim or not. Besides, who are we to judge people, because we ourselves are not perfect?
They have mentioned about anti-Muslim sentiments from Non-Muslims in this video. Let me say that I am disappointed to see a fellow Muslim to harbour similar sentiments to another Muslim.
Please do not take this the wrong way. Peace be upon you.
Queen Rania is an epitome of how a Queen should act and sound like, how a Queen should deal with social and political issues of her masses and world over, and command respect that a Queen should get, not by fear but with her humbleness and generosity.
@rahulm1987 she is indeed mashallah humble, thankfull and generous over the whole line.... Even if the help does not reach directly the people in the critical areas, her prayers and wish to resolve issues will have effect in the end indirectly. Even her prayers on that matter will be overheard mashAllah.

Am I the only one that thinks it's wrong to call another human being "your majesty" just because of the family she was born into?
How do most royal families become wealthy? Theft & violence. Why does that title deserve respect?
It's also just as wrong to call a man the President of an entire country.
If you want to help human beings, they need one thing, individual freedom. That includes the freedom to seek the "education" of your choice.
Public schools reduce options for learning.

Queen Rania totally has a point; this is a man's world, and see what it has become.
Ignorant spoiled men, greedy, control freaks have made a bureaucratic control world. False bureaucratic justice instead of moral justice.
Nature made women the more caring ones, that is why there should be more women in power, to balance out the manly men.
Only men and women together can form a balanced, healthy base in any society.
My dearest regards for Queen Rania and this initiative.

Many people talk about world peace but very few actually do anything to work towards it. Your initiatives are going to make the world a more peaceful place for our children's children.
And if anyone feels like there should be a similar initiative for boys, feel free to step up to the plate and do something about it.

She's not wearing hijaab.
PersianPaladin 1 year ago
@PersianPaladin Not all Muslims wear a hijaab. In Jordon, no one can force you to wear a hijaab if you don't want to.

@PersianPaladin You are sick, with all respect !! .. Not Her arms should be covered but your sick-dirty mind should be changed .. :)

@PeacefulHuman13
No. A woman is a sexual being who should cover-up. Otherwise what you get will be comments like below "Sexy arab :) no disrespect", etc.

@ahmadzai6
you should be ashamed of insulting somebody who is probably more muslim than you'll ever be. No wonder people think muslims are retards based on your comment.
nounies 1 year ago 5
@nounies So u r her pimp or what???
anyway, on what basis do u claim that she is a better muslim?
first we have to establish that she is a muslim then you can take ur claim further
ahmadzai6 1 year ago
Let me get this right.. If you give a girl a little chance, they're likely to make something out of it..Boys don't do that ey?
I get that girls are being discriminated against in many islamic countries, and in the biggest part of the rest of the under developed countries. I get why they need a helping hand. That doesn't change anything about this campaign being sexist. I dislike any campaign only dealing with one of the sexes. That's not equality, it's sexism.
jo05dk 1 year ago
She's being too biased towards women when she should provide as much rights and care for males too as it is not the child's fault for being born a female or a male.
ashthegreat 1 year ago
@ashthegreat In the developing world, including the non-Moslem developing world, girls are so discriminated against they are even aborted. When they aren't, they are underfed, whatever money is available will be spent sending their brothers to school, and they may even be sold into prostitution.
I'm not too fond of this campaign anyway, but one shouldn't put one's own issues onto a global culture that we Americans are quite under-informed about, due to our atrociously bad media. (See the TED
givebirthathome 1 year ago
talk on how little the networks spend on foreign correspondents..better yet, watch Al-Jazeera, which does have some in-depth coverage of places like Bangladesh and Bolivia)
I've seen a creeping adulation
givebirthathome 1 year ago
of royalty in American society for about 25 years, and it is regressive to respect for every person.
How is supporting the idea of royalty a good thing?
givebirthathome 1 year ago
As for the blanket idea that "schooling is good"...that is wrong.
Knowledge is good.
It can be gained in other ways than schooling.
George Washington is estimated to have had about 9 months of formal schooling, Abraham Lincoln, similarly.
I wish Sugata Mitra was hot and had married the King of Jordan, because he knows how children really learn! As do American homeschoolers, who despite often having parents with only highschool educations, do better than average on academic tests, and more
givebirthathome 1 year ago
importantly, *years* better than there schooled peers on tests of emotional maturity.
Is it really a better world if everyone knows calculus, but no one can, say,
sustain a marriage?
Schooling can easily, and usually does, destroy both culture, *and* individual integrity. Anyone who objects to gov't healthcare should certainly object to UN programs of mass forced schooling, especially as they have become so obsolete for the delivery of information in the computer age.
givebirthathome 1 year ago
In addition to sexism and classism, we also see Age-ism in this program.
What could be uglier than development through leaving the old behind?
Why "schools", little ghettos for the young? Why not community learning institutions,
why not libraries?
Well, things are going to be (mostly) what these huge forces are creating them to be, but by thinking about them, perhaps we can divert them to being a little more humane, relationship and culture respecting.

@givebirthathome
And.... your point is? I read your posts three times but I can't figure out what you want to tell us.
henkvanderlaak 1 year ago
@henkvanderlaak lol : )

@rahulm1987 She's a real queen ^_^.
Shalek 1 year ago
@rahulm1987 she is indeed mashallah humble, thankfull and generous over the whole line.... Even if the help does not reach directly the people in the critical areas, her prayers and wish to resolve issues will have effect in the end indirectly. Even her prayers on that matter will be overheard mashAllah.
