and it sounds different than other songs cuz their producer wanted to give frusciante (guitarist) more heavy metal sounding tones, thus causing this song to sound less like their other stuff.
i think that the true creds for technique here go to chad, this beat i really f-ing hard if you play it the way he plays it, just watch his drumming lesson video
