So, considering most people don't buy phones for gaming (they buy things we call here in the 21st century; computers)....it's a fail for buying a phone purely for gaming. Ive owned a galaxy s2 and iphone 4, and for me i prefer the iphone as for me i like my phone/device to be easy/quick to use and navigate around, and i like to have alot of choice when it comes to apps and games, and also i prefer the size of the iphone compared to the s2, its just too big for me to be carrying around in a pocket.

Well, you can find many Android phones which are about the same size as an iPhone. The apps comparison is getting rather old, (320000vs360000/android vs iPhone), as of October 2011, and when you consider how much junk is out there, it's really a draw.
If you prefer a widget-less, limited, closed OS, lack of as much customizability, etc. so be it. I never said the Galaxy s2 was better, I was merely pointing out that the Android technology is ahead of Apple's iOS.

You can drop the S2 and the screen won't shatter, which is pretty common among the iphone. You can drop it quite a few time with no problems, actually. So beyond aesthetics which are totally subjective, the build quality of the iphone can't be better in real world use.

@rickjack78 It should also be noted that a child could hack any android phone, and I can overclock a nexus s 4g single core, 1ghz phone with zero problems in real world use and benchmark it and get a score more than double that of any iphone s4. Throw a custom ice cream sandwich rom on an s2, and there really isn't a comparison in performance. The trade off is a more boring, but superior stability and UI reliability over any android. And, that's really what separates the devices.

Nice review. Honestly I prefer the gs2 over the 4S. I just feel like everybody has an iphone these days, and I want something different. The gs2 allows me to customize as much as I want while still being an amazing phone. I also love the design of the gs, or just androids in general. I really love the large screen and thin size style. Great review. Regarding the phones, it's personal preference as with everything. If you had the choice, some would go Aston Martin whilst some would go Ferrari. Some prefer a holiday to Vegas, some prefer the seaside.

It's his opinion on what works best for him, why is that so hard for people to understand. Myself, I love Android, I'm not embarrassed to admit though that the iPhone is a great device. It's built well and operates very smoothly but to me so do most of my Android devices.

Samsung did better at angry birds, iPhone did better at camera test, they both drew at browser...
I love both phones, they both have special preferences which make them a pleasure to use e.g. samsung's hub apps, reminders, widgets, siri etc.

Well, you can find many Android phones which are about the same size as an iPhone. The apps comparison is getting rather old, (320000vs360000/android vs iPhone), as of October 2011, and when you consider how much junk is out there, it's really a draw.
If you prefer a widget-less, limited, closed OS, lack of as much customizability, etc. so be it. I never said the Galaxy s2 was better, I was merely pointing out that the Android technology is ahead of Apple's iOS.

You can drop the S2 and the screen won't shatter, which is pretty common among the iphone. You can drop it quite a few time with no problems, actually. So beyond aesthetics which are totally subjective, the build quality of the iphone can't be better in real world use.

@rickjack78 It should also be noted that a child could hack any android phone, and I can overclock a nexus s 4g single core, 1ghz phone with zero problems in real world use and benchmark it and get a score more than double that of any iphone s4. Throw a custom ice cream sandwich rom on an s2, and there really isn't a comparison in performance. The trade off is a more boring, but superior stability and UI reliability over any android. And, that's really what separates the devices.

Nice review. Honestly I prefer the gs2 over the 4S. I just feel like everybody has an iphone these days, and I want something different. The gs2 allows me to customize as much as I want while still being an amazing phone. I also love the design of the gs, or just androids in general. I really love the large screen and thin size style. Great review. Regarding the phones, it's personal preference as with everything. If you had the choice, some would go Aston Martin whilst some would go Ferrari. Some prefer a holiday to Vegas, some prefer the seaside.
They both have their pro's and cons. I prefer iPhone 4s or even iPhone 4.
I don't know what the next iPhone will be like, but if the screen is any bigger than 4 inches I'll be keeping my 4s.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks so much for this comparison. You seemed very honest about the two phones and because of this I am going to go with the iPhone 4S- been debating between the GSII and the 4S for awhile now. Thanks for the fair comparison and the honest opinion at the end!

It's his opinion on what works best for him, why is that so hard for people to understand. Myself, I love Android, I'm not embarrassed to admit though that the iPhone is a great device. It's built well and operates very smoothly but to me so do most of my Android devices.

Wat above simple things like being able to have certain settings and change things up on the i phone its very very limited not like android .. As well did not go in to every day features like on galaxy s2 if streaming online and you adjust the screen it doesn have to reload like the poo phone s2 wipes the floor wit it
