  • I'm from India. To be an Army officer is my dream, and the Indian Army known for its skill in mountain warfare and physical dexterity and has lost some of its finest officers over there. I however, respect all armies of the world as great institutions of discipline and humanity. To know that people like Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart walk the face of this Earth is a matter of pride for humanity. They have left immortal legacies to follow. There is no comfort to ease the pain on their loved ones.

  • Respect from Germany

  • if i was there with u guys i would have used the minigun on the hawk and kick some black ass :( RIP

  • @ImYourFan07 well you could, but the mini gun requires a power source to fire which was knocked out when the chopper crashed.

  • @ImYourFan07 I WAS THERE ASSHAT !!!....The Batteries on the G.E. 134 usually die on impact, and SKIN TONE played no part in our mission there. THESE GREAT MEN WERE PERSONAL FRIENDS OF MINE, WHOM I HAD SERVED ON SEVERAL MISSIONS WITH.... I CARRIED BOTH OF THEIR COFFINS AND LAID THEM TO REST, SO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THIS IF I WAS THERE WITH YOU BULL SHIT.......GOD KEEP YOU MY BROTHERS !!!!

  • Respect from Lithuania.

  • Respect from Portugal

  • They have an Urban Warfare Training City in Fort Polk Louisiana. Respect to all the Countries that were there...

  • What kind of man willfully throws himself into a near certain death to save a 160th pilot (Durant) who they barely know? Don't believe there is a better definition of a hero available to us. R.I.P to these two kings of badasses.

  • i am will join delta force in the future

  • Like you I consider them heroes, even though I'm Chilean

  • A HUGE loss to the Delta community.

  • These 2 soldiers were also Rangers, then they became Delta, you can clearly see the "Ranger Tab" on their shoulder

  • @ArmyDawg09 yeah Rangers Lead The Way

  • how do men, men who know they will die, face their deaths with such courage and honor. im thankful that men like these exist.

  • I dont like Americans. but the soldiers always treat with respect no matter what or who they're fighting for.

  • rest in peace, brave loyal soldiers of america god bless them.

  • "Now listen, son, remember when we talked about the Alamo. You know every one of the brave defenders in those fights died. They knew the odds, but they hurt the enemy. Both were tactical defeats, but in the end they were also brilliant strategic victories. They made the enemy afraid. Just a few good soldiers fighting for what's right made the difference. " --- JUST A FEW GOOD SOLDIERS...MADE THE DIFFERENCE....

    R.I.P

  • gone, not forgotten but surely missed by their families, it is tragic that still nowadays some governments or commanders or whatever prefer violence to negotiations, although dunno if they went there by free will or by order, anyway civiliaztion, culture and democracy still needed to be taught to america

  • These men are the definition of an American hero. May they rest in peace.

  • r.i.p from Britian. u did ur country proud.

  • 10 people were Somalians....

  • Part of the Ranger creed: "I will never leave a fallen comrade." these two demonstrated that with pride. Rangers Lead the way! (yes I know they were Delta) - Salute from a U.S. Citizen

  • Salute from Indonesia

  • Magnificent!

  • RIP for the mens who died but it wasn't their war they died in vain they died for nothing as many others... but that is the way of you americans always go and fight someones else wars

  • @emil94968 Could you specify Americans because technically Canadians, Mexicans, and people from South AMERICA (key word America) are Americans, get your facts straight ohh and by the way this wasn't in vain they died for the man next to them just like everybody else in this world who is in the military can understand that, evidently you can't understand that. - With love from a U.S. Citizen!

  • @emil94968 they died to help there injured comrades, ask mike durant how he feels about them.....i wouldnt say that was in vain...what a stupid statement you made

  • @1888gp and I ask you why were there comrades injured? why were they even there? who's war were they fighting in? any way you will probably say they were there for human rights...yeah right :)) you probably are from US and you see and think as your president say you should :)) you US citizens have no self thinking just like a horde of seeps the president tell you go die in Irak you go,he says go die in Somalia you go,go die in Afganistan you go :)) and is all for HUMAN RIGHTS :))

  • @emil94968 for a start im not from the usa so your whole rant is useless and pathetic ....why are you putting smiley faces in are you a child or something.....or are you just one of these sad people who wants to argue with people on youtube

  • @emil94968 You would never be able to do what these men do. How dare you disrespect the greatest men who live on this planet.

  • Salute from Finland! R.I.P Heroes!

  • I'm Greek and I respect the most men that never abandon their partner in combat.

  • Weak ass video. Due the men justice and tell their stories. Does not serve their memory

  • These were some of the best American warriors ever. They could have said hell no we aint going down there, but they weren't selfish. They went and helped their own lives just to save another, and that to me is just outstanding. I guarantee that theres not a day that goes by that that pilot doesnt think about it. R.I.P. Shughart and Gordon

  • RIP. Gary and Randy were true American heroes. They most certainly deserved the MoH they received, and much more

  • What's the music?

  • Uncle Gary was a very brave delta i only wish he was still here today ;(

  • they sacrificed themselves in order to protect their country: i salute you sirs, and may you eternally rest in peace :'( America is sad to have lost you both, but you will NEVER be forgotten :'(

  • Those two were the real deal, HEROES. Never will I forget what they did.

  • Anyone who questions these men in any way must have more than a screw loose.

"Oh, there was minigun on the heli! Why didn't they use that?"

This ain't Call of Duty. To use a piece of equiment that has just gone through a crash hoping it works when seconds count in a hostile enviroment is suicidal. That's just me.These were Americans best warriors. If you think you can do better feel free to go there and see how long you last. I bet at most ten minutes without an armed guide.

  • how did they die?

i heard about thm but it was all ly, can anybody tell me why shughart and gordon die?

  • @vjimmy100 they were shot to death in the heat of combat, fighting to protect Michael Durant, who was injured and couldn't move

  • @maskaryan

is that true because it was in the movies call Black Hawk Down?

  • @vjimmy100 yes, the movie is based on a book that was written based on interviews with the people who actually fought in Somalia. However, the movie did change few peoples names, check out wikipedia to see who. But it is a true story

  • @maskaryan

    alright thank buddy

  • @vjimmy100 no problem

  • @vjimmy100 Yes, not for country first ,but to aid their fellow soliders. Look at the patches on their shoulder( Rangers and Special Forces) America's Best.

  • ou never know whats gunna happen though when u sign up to miliatry ive always wanted to be a royal marine since a little boy but i decideed i dont wana go to iraq or afghan see my friends die if i did join but i may decide that i wana one day

  • are you lot americans i am britsih i watchewd the film of black hawk down its amazing but very sad when those 2 delta boys died in the gun fight they blinking brave people to do what they did they dint care about them selves but as long as injured pilot was ok that all they cared about good men they were they baseically gave there lives up for injured pilot thye deserve to be medal of honured again i dont think the british went to samlia war did they

  • …My friend, this is happening every moment of every day, even as you sleep. It is happening in far flung places around the world, just so that we can have freedom. Thank God, that out there is a lonely soldier with a heavy burden, keeping us safe. Thank God, and thank a soldier.

Pledge, right now with me, to give all the prayers and financial support you can to those who support our troops, their wounded and their families at home. Amen.

  • I heard someone from the phone say, “911, what is your emergency?”

As I saw our unbroken windows and smooth bricks, I lifted the phone and said, “I’m sorry; I guess I misdialed.”

“Happens all the time, but don’t let it happen again. Have a good evening.”

God, what just happened to me? It was so real! Someone just died, defending my home! In whose eyes did I just see such love? What did he see in me?

I hope this tells you what our soldiers are really doing for us, out there.

  • As he went down, he fired and brought the last one down with a quick burst! My head was ringing from all the gunfire. I bent over the soldier and could tell he was bleeding out, grimacing in pain. He opened his eyes and we looked deeply into one another’s soul. I realized I had to get my phone and call for help!

In a moment, I was back on my lawn, but the soldier was gone. I looked around and the other bodies were also gone.

  • Yet, there I stood, scared stiff and virtually naked in my shorts and T-shirt! Then, an American soldier jumped in front of me and yelled back, “Get down!” I crouched as he took aim and returned fire, bringing down the assailants, one by one, some falling within feet of us. I got up to see if my family was okay, but before I could go in, I heard a burst of fire from our left and saw the soldier hit in the side, as he was reloading!

  • ...I stepped onto my front walk. The lawn was softly lit by the porch lights. It was calm and peaceful, like most front lawns, all over America.Suddenly, gunfire flashed from the darkness at my house. Bullets broke through the windows of my sleeping children! Brick pieces were flying with ricocheting rounds. I was stunned and could not move! I could see figures approaching, trotting as they continued to fire. Bullets zinged by me and ripped through the masonry and drywall of my home.

  • Thanks for this post! You who say it is pointless, must know there are enemies who hate Americans simply because we are free. They will do anything to destroy us; It was a calm night. I had finished my favorite TV show and got up to go to bed. My spouse was already in bed, reading a book and the kids were sleeping in their beds. Then, I thought I would step outside, get a breath of fresh air and take a look at the stars...

  • War. It is pointless. It takes so many years, nurturing and raising a life. The parents went throughout everything to help their child grow. When they finally grow up, one bullet to the head and all those years of growing and learning are gone. Just gone.

  • Thank you Gary and Randy for serving our country and giving the ultimate sacrifice.

  • RIP my boys my dad faught in the somalian war he got shot in the right shoulder 9 mm i didnt know about it till i was 15 and now i want to be in the army. My dad was a second platue blackhal down fightinr he knew Randy Shurgart but not Gary But i wanted to say he was a black fighter he would stay back and kinda do defence because someolieans were trying to capture bases and he has some vidios of Gary walking by and him ACTUALLY saying hey didnt belive it at first but i matched the pictures!!

  • RIP :(

  • True Heros never forgotten!!!!!!

  • I do not understand why each tribute to Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart Presentation sad songs, they were brave, they were soldiers, are the elite died to save a comrade, died doing what they liked most, I think they died in the best way possible there are people dying of diseases and cancers and younger without doing anything for anyone. They are eternal, they are real heroes are not comics.

If I ever want it to die like them, that God bless you.

    They are my real heroes

  • @Mistrix1 because it's sad that brave guys like them are gone :'(

  • What Brave and selfless men... As a former US Marine, I salute them both !!!!!!!!

  • how could you dislike this

  • from philippines, I salute to them

  • R.I.P. true heroes.

  • They made mistake because they didnt carry bunch of hand grenades.RIP

  • @SerbianCommandoSCGRS When the odds were so stacked against them how would grenades help them?

  • @haghaghaghaag just because that odds i said that, they should carry a bunch of hand grenades. If they throw just a few (two or three) the mass would go away.Thats why i say that soldier should always carry up to 10 or 15 hand grenades, always.<thrust me,i know (Sorry for my bad english).

But i agree, those were two brave men ;)

  • @SerbianCommandoSCGRS Even intimidating the crowd wouldn't have helped, they were coming from all sides, and as with most muslim fighters (includes soldiers, terrorist and guerilla) they aren't scared easily.

They believe that dieing fighting those "invaders" will reward them with paradise. Anyway these 2 men set a new standard for the medal of honor.

  • @SerbianCommandoSCGRS are you really even in the military? if you were you would know that carrying 10-15 grenades is ridiculous. you have no means to carry that many and the weight would be stupidly heavy. thats totally unrealistic.

  • @iissouthpaw I was in the military, and i will sind up again ;)I didnt say they should carry it on a long march, they knew what are they going into. One grenade is 350g in waith,so ten would be 3,5kg,what is that?Even small skinny african boy-soldier can carry that.Im tellig from my expirience,i always needed few grenades extra, especailly when we were in defence,or clearing objects. You have no idea what and how much stuff we were carrying.

  • @SerbianCommandoSCGRS yeah but..they weren't suppose to go for ground attack...their objective was to provide overwatch while the D-boys went in to capture the hostages. It was only supposed to be a 30 min mission in n out, however when the first bird went down, thats when everything changed. Gordon and shugart couldn't have grenades because they thought that they were only gonna provide overwatch while the D-boys and the chalks did the ground mission. durants bird got hit & they volunteered.

  • @piratezism Yeah,i know.I just said that hand granades are wery needed in situations like this.Atleast i always had a bunch,to use it against an enemy or to kill myself so i dont get captured.Lucky thing is i never got into that situation.

  • @SerbianCommandoSCGRS they couldn't use hand grenades in a situation like this, there were civilians among them and it would've caused alot of problems more than they bargained for.

  • @dynastyballer13 What those civilians were doing side by side with armed men? They wanted to blod of those guys just as those armed men wanted.I would trow....

  • I am hoping to be in the military when i'm older, a sniper, and these two guys inspire me to do that job well.

  • As a cold war vet ... I salute anyyone who serves something above them selves .. How else will civilaized society function ???? ... these guys looked above themselves ... I salute them

  • Every Time I See Black Hawk Down I Crying When I See Them Die

  • salute from canada.

  • No one wants to be a Hero.

    It just happens...

  • @l0lhackz -he did die coz ur seen eversmann sayin 2 him in the room wie the bodies of the dead saying ill talk 2 ur ma and pa when i got home :(

  • What they did , was more than heroic ! RIP and a big salute from a Greek ex soldier !

  • Comment removed

  • @l0lhackz In real life he was 21 and he's dead. He died 3 years after Mogadishu while on duty as a police officer.

  • what does the quote say in the middle?

  • I will never forget what they did and will tell their story of bravery till I die.

  • Ok i just found out who was them. They came to save michael durant.

RIP Gary Gordon and Randall Shughart

  • But who was blackburn ?? and i the film i dont know where they were.can someone tell me plzz!!!

  • the Spartans of Mogadishu

  • THEY ARE THE REAL HEROS THE MAN WITH NO FEAR REAL HEROS WE ALL PROUD THEM GREAT MANS

  • They were -- and remain -- what is best of, and makes us so proud of, America.

  • @TEDLSMITH555 Soldiers everywhere in Iraq and Afghanistan are faced with hard decisions that only they can make, I'm sure Master Segeant Gorden and Sergeant First Class Shughart never once regretted there decision to go up against hundreds of Armed Somalians

  • I suppose nobody will ever know what was running these two operators heads when they made that decision, but whatever it was, myself and people like myself will always respect and honor it, and them. Can most of you even get there in your head, I think not, These guys come from a place you have never been. Always the harder right over the easier wrong.

  • @TEDLSMITH555 Great Post. These men answered to a higher calling. Something that most people will never get a chance to feel. I would like to know what was going through their minds too, but whatever it was, it was something more powerful than any of us mere mortals could ever imagine. Great men.

  • @llDaybombll, I don't think he was just attached to s sniper's team, that doesn't make him a snpier, still I give made respect to any Medal of Honor

  • I want these Angels guarding over me. Amen!

  • @clancriger the now stand guard at the gates of Heaven

  • God bless our heroes...

  • Big respect for these guys what they actually did on this day in somalia was a selfless act of sacrifice not for the army or politics but for guys on the ground who needed their help. For the guy on the left and on the right to you.

  • those people who seriously disliked this video...wow, please go to hell.

  • I dont thin a whole lot of people could do what these two brave souls did. Openly knowning that they were probably going to die to go and save people that were most likely did is an absolute destimate to their bravery. They repelled in with sniper rifles against an armed miltia with assaulkt rifles. I cried during this movie i dont think i could what these men did at an age that is near mine.

  • These men were great people that left us to soon. We can only hope to live in a way that brings them honor. We can only hope that when our time is up that we answer the call with the same unflinching courage that these men showed. Rest in peace.

  • Italy cried for those valiant Soldiers. Their pics are on the wall in my bedroom.

  • poor daughter from Gordon .. she got the greatest father on this world , but never can really met this man =( there heroes in my eyes

    Salute from Germany !

  • randy and gary r my heroes and they r sniping demons from heaven AMEN!

  • You know Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart were the First and will probably be the ONLY SNIPERS to be awarded the Medal of Honor

  • @raceace32 i thought Carlos Hathcock Recieved it in vietnam,

  • Rest in peace you guys!!!

  • 9 people are heartless

  • 9 people are heartless

  • @vcoleman54 Different belief system, I guess.

    ...or they're scum.

  • Thank you for them, these nice men(people) did not hesitate has to give their life for them brothers-in-arms, rest in peace

  • I never claimed I knew these men. I don't take sides.

  • @ThatAmazingGuy13 Never said you did, I was referring to the prick ive been arguing with...I think you should read what I put again, carefully!

  • This is a memorial page. No place to fight. Would you actually act like this if this was their actual funeral or them receiving the Medal of Honor! Respect the page.

  • @ThatAmazingGuy13 WTF are you on about? jjjflott disrepsected a hero by telling lies that he knew and served alongside him, theres nothing worse than a fake, wannabe idiot, so I routed him out.......I served my country and cant stand ppl who claim to have...........

  • Randall look like hans landa christopher waltz in inglorious basterds

  • how can people dislike this?... two people willingly went against all odds to help another human being.

only possible explanation is the people who dislikes this are either idiots or people who dont deserve to be alive.

  • To think 2 men actually ASKED to be put in not once but muliple times. Seeing the ground swell of armed enemy activity. Knowing they'd already suffered KIA's amongst their number and that support would be a while off. Why? to uphold the creed "no man gets left behind" - man that took heart - MASSIVE RESPECT to the U.S. troops that defend freedom around the world from an English Australian

  • 8 people are the savages in Somalia.

  • Respect. Big balls to willingly go into harms way. Proud to be American like these two men.

  • I served with Sgt.Shugart back when he was with the 2/75 th Rangers. He was a good guy and leader.. RIP RANGER.

  • @jjjflott If you read the book about Sgt.Shugart then you would find that he was assigned to "Delta" way before you were old enough to enlist in Ranger school, if your 40 now then you would of been 22 in 1993, Sgt.Shugart was a member of "Delta" mid 80s, you would of been in high school! How could you have served with him?

  • @raf3070 . I don't need to read a book about it. Shugart was in C 2/75th with me in 79-80 for a fact.

  • @jjjflott Do the maths, in 1979 you would of been 8, if your 40 now like it says on your profile.

You might fool other ppl with your BS but not everyone. Theres nothing worse than a liar that pretends to be Ex Army and uses video of dead heroes to front themselves!!!!!!!!!

  • @raf3070 You can't spell or do math kid. Whatever "profile" your looking at is wrong..and I don't care. I did serve with him and don't need to prove shit to you. I was in class 2-80 in Ranger School , do the math.

  • @jjjflott I cant do maths? It says Age : 40 on your profile, do the maths you thick cunt.

PM your service details and name and ill check you out over at Soc.net, because I think your a liar!!!!!!!!

  • @raf3070 I don't need to prove shit to you . You can't even write or spell you dolt. You really think i would give out personal info to you . Look up MSG. Matoon , Cpt. Miller , SSG Roberts or even the "WAD"...in that time frame and you'll know I'm no BS.. You have nothing but wind, I have facts and names kid and if you called me a cunt to my face, this old man would beat your punk ass into the ground. RLTW.

  • @jjjflott Unfortunatly for you big man, im 41 so im no kid, you beat my ass? lol yeh, you reckon?

What are them names you came up with? Its not hard to find that info over the net of vets from back then, PM me your details and as i said, ill do a check at Soc.net for you.

You dont need to prove "shit" because you cant, your a fake, liar...You have never even served.......

  • @raf3070 If you can't find those names or won't your just wasting my time punk. Class 2-80 bitch. 2nd sqaud , 3rd platoon, C .co 2/75th. Harold Roberts was my sqaud leader. SSG Ray was the platoon sgt. Cpt. Miller was the PL. Cpt. Toney , C.O. You ain't nothing but a sap trying to dicredit whomever , forewhatever. Get a life. I got facts and dates , you got nothing. You never served anything but fries and Mickey D's. I'm done defending myself to a dolt.

  • @jjjflott Yep, just as i thought, your a FAKE, you cant PM me your name or details, they are the facts that i want to check you out, all you have done is provide me with names on ppl who may have served in the Army Rangers at that time, which is easy to find on the net. Anyone watching this thread on here can just put your age in your profile together with the dates you said and see you were in high school at that time.

Your nothing but a fake, wannabe, liar!!!!!!!!!

  • From Swizerland, I salute for them.....
