Maybe she... perhaps because she... watch the fricken film and you will understand, well, if you have a heart under the chest and a brain under that skull, sorry if I sound rude. I wish people had teh guts to be trully themselves, but only the pricks seem to be able to be themselves openly, sad world.
amazing,, i am claudi. I am a male who has graduated today and the people on my course are assholes. they are under my skin, they have never felt loss!!! i hate them hate, so much anger! fuck them all! fuk themn!
@An0nEeMouse Basically I think it's because of the danger inherent in a relationship. She is obviously socially anxious, and he reveals that he is also that way. That's the beauty of this relationship in the film: two losers meeting and connecting with each other.
Also, Aimee Mann wrote a song called "Deathly" with that line that was included in the film.
Because she's ending it on a good note. She's very fond of him, and if he, a cop, finds out she's a drug addict, she's scared they'll lose that goodness they had.
I want to like it... but I feel like she's 'pushing' her character to hard... the 'didn't I, didn't I" line at the end sounds like an acting class scene... I'm not fully sold on it, although I did like the movie.
@pacedom1 Not every actor approaches their performances the same way. And it works for her, I think it was a great performance and a great scene, and plus, you know, she's portraying a woman who's hooked on coke and snorts coke a lot so lol.
Thank you! I completely agree dude! I've always felt like the actor completely overplays the character throughout the entire movie. I like the film in general and I love PTA's work, but there are definitely really cheesy dialogue moments and this actress makes me cringe.
@danerook No they don't what? I know I'm late on this comment, but what are you objecting to in my original comment? That there are really cheesy moments in this film that are cringe worthy? Sorry it's true. The movie is good, very original, but far from perfect. Now go jerk off to a picture of PTA.
@Ronin0212 I WILL DO NO SUCH THING!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT YOU ARE WAY LATE!!! HOW ABOUT RESPONDING TO A COMMENT SOONER NOT WEEKS OR MONTHS AND DON'T TELL ME TO JERK OFF TO A PICTURE OF PTA!!!!
I get to do this scene wednesday in my acting class. I'm doing John C. Reilly's part and really looking forward to it now. Thanks so much for putting this up.
I'm doing this scene for my theatre class soon. I am so nervous, seriously. Claudia is such a great character.

I knew a girl a lot like Claudia. I think back on her when I see this movie and feel bad that I wasn't able to be a guy like Jim. :(
