Uh this car has the worst sound dampening ever. Brake and you hear the damn breaks recharging the engine. Go 65 mph on the freeway and you hear EVERYTHING. Honestly it looks nice, and thats where it ends.

I'm a big fan of the styling of the CT 200h but if the batteries do make it to the 15 year mark, new ones will cost in the range of $5000-$8000, less than the car will be worth. So you either sell the car for next to nothing, put a ridiculous amount of money back into it or scrap it.

This is a great car i happen to have bought one recently.Ican tell you the engine is so smooth and quiet. The fuel consumption veries between 40mpg to 67mpg depending how its driven The steering is positive,and the road holding very impressive.In the UK you dont pay any road tax which can be £245 a year and driving in London no congestion charge which is £10 per day.All in all this is one of the best cars ive had for economy and luxury combined.

42 mpg? more powerful diesel engines in bigger and heavier cars can do better than that. For example the new Audi A8's 3 liter v6 turbo diesel engine make 250 hp and 406 lb ft torque. And it does 43 mpg!

For your information I live about 4 minutes walk away from a Lexus dealership and have had a good look around the car. I think it feels well made, especially the dashboard and interior, but is ugly outside so I KNOW that I don't like the looks, as well as I KNOW it slow. Simple as.

The only assumption I made is that it is probably less quite for longer high speed journeys then it is around town, because the battery can only power the car for 1km so the petrol engine would be in operation most of the time. I notice how he says the low noise will make it relaxing on long journeys.......actually on long journeys the petrol motor will be running almost constantly as it can only do 1km on full electric so I doubt whether its really that quiet for a long trip.

Plus I find the rear end to be very ugly.

I took it for a test drive. 35 yr, settled - looking for something that gets a lot of check marks. It is sharp - not ugly like a Prius,

It has enough room -but it is no Outback,

It is not embarrassing - like my 97 Civic, (200,000 miles)

It's got a hatchback so it is more versatile than my sister's 4 door Cobalt

It is pretty amazing on gas - better than my brother's Charger

It has Zip - better than any other hybrid

And it's green! so I can pat myself on the back for saving the environment.
