@Realone234 I believe so, but in most cases it wouldn't be an issue since she'll be in the air during startup. However, the attack itself is not invincible so it can be countered by projectiles and anti-air moves.
@KyutwoVideos i dont think it has invincibility on start but the fact that she move's backwards so fast she might be safe. if your using it to punish a fireball best bet would be to bait a fireball and then do it the moment they decide to chuck some plasma. btw what system to u play on. Im a makoto main on ps3. I used to be trash but i have been getting better. would love to get some matches in.
@gobblenater Sorry 'bout that. :) It's just by definition, I was new to Makoto since I only played Makoto for one month when I made this video. new -> newbie -> noob I just wanted viewers to know that even inexperienced gamers will get better with practice.
Besides, I'm a fast-learner. ^_^ My Makoto gameplay vids proves that.
You shoulda mentioned that if your U2 hits as a juggle but whiffs the next hit, you can jump right when the last hit (The Ultra fukiage) animation does the punch. Dont need to time it, just hold the jump button.
hey man keep up the good work with makoto. i play wit her non-stop too:-). n i would love to put my against yours. what do you say? i have it for both systems n my name is audayg89 on both
This is some verry useful information, i mostly knew how to use this but the only part i didnt know about was the medium kick. i like the 1st one but im used to usingthe 2nd u;tra. i like using the 2nd one because when people do move fails then i know its my chance to attack.
This is the only ultra I like to pick for Makoto. Hit hard philosophy for ultra 1 is nice and can be comboed but this one is flexible in the sense that it has more range and can punish moves that ultra 1 can't. Any move ultra 1 can punish this can do I think.
Abare can be landed on a character in juggle state. My current favorites are from a AA Fukiage. The Fukiage can be super cancelled if you have the meter to cut recovery frames and ensure that the juggle Abare will hit in full.
The other good way to hit it is on an EX Hayate in the corner while they are in mid-air for those Ryus and Guiles that like to jump backwards while in the corner. On hit they are in juggle state and Abare will hit them in mid-fall.
Great vid! I've been waiting on someone to take some chances with abare! I main makoto and just started uploading, so I know how much work it is. I think abare is better for ALL projectile/rushdown characters. It's more versatile than SG. People expect SG and they know exactly how you will try to land it. Makoto's game hinges on being unpredictable, and while super -- SG does good damage, you get just about the same from abare w/followup AND you get the unpredictablility/wakeup option/versatili
Abare Tosanami in english its Maximum Spider :D

As a newbie Makoto-player who enjoys using Ultra 2, the punish compilation made me all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

Even though I have some time playing Makoto I found this video useful, now my theory is becoming greater. Thanks.

how the hell do you follow up with fukiage?
riku45 1 year ago
@riku45 Right after Ultra 2, Dash Forward, and then use Low Punch Fukiage in the opposite direction.
