  • Feb.28th.1968 Fell in love at first sight and "still crazy after all these years".

  • still crazy after all these beers.

  • The break from 1:49-2:37 with the imitation and the great sax solo is beauitful.

  • This song reminds me of my grandmother. I miss you Grandma

  • larry david sings it better

  • beautiful song, can't believe this song only stalled at #40 on the Billboard Top 100, it should have been a Top 10 hit IMO

  • MUSIC brought me here!

  • Interesting, his motivation for staying alive in this dog eat dog world,is his tough N.Y. state of mind, not letting his contemporaries know he is gave in, to depression.

  • No one picked up on one of the most clever lines I have ever heard when he says "i would not be caught being dead by jury of my peers".Not, "convicted"....

    Brilliant line Mr. Simon.

  • @waveblast2 But he does say "I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers"...

  • @bookiee8 I saw him mouth "being dead" just last night on one of those CD Set infomercials.Read the line just before this one.And watch the cars go by,I fear I'll do some damage one fine day.......thats suicide.

    Good Day.

  • Humm..I ended up here because - I am still crazy after all these years...

  • Who GIVES a shit? ...about "Larry David".

    This is Art!

"Larry David" just wrote 1/2-assed comedy!

  • @swiggy58a such ignorance, Larry David created two of the best comedies of all time

  • @swiggy58a IDIOT

  • look in side. you,ll get it......

  • Paul Simon is a great singer

  • who's Larry David?

  • @gabbatika larry david wrote seinfeld with jerry seinfeld. he later wrote "Curb your enthusiasm" and there is an episode with this song in it. thats why "larry david brought me here" comments are being written

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • Where is the damn turkey video? That video has been uploaded and deleted more times than carter's has little pills. I geuss he's still embarrassed after all these years.

  • @HeyRadialMoon what are you talking about?

  • s145611....yep and trust me..you will grow, you will change, but you will still come back and find a part of yourself here, decades later..I am 51 and have seen this in myself and now my children have vocalized the same feelings to me and they are in their 20's and 30's....to quote The Wallflowers:I haven't changed, but I know I'm not the same..."

  • My parents gave me a Paul Simon CD when i was 8. Until I turned 11, that was the only thing i played, and I played the hell out of this song in particular. Now I'm 19, and I still love coming back to this song and reminding myself that as much as I grow and change, I'm still just as much that little kid. Such an intense bittersweet feeling.

  • @s145611 Same bro. As early as I can remember ~3 years old my mom always played her paul simon albums and I wore those cassettes ragged listening front to back. I'm 22 now and his music is nostalgia to me as much as it was to my parents, and the same will go for my kids. Its amazing how music from his generation will live on and I intend to be a part of that.

  • @s145611 Great comment! Try to preserve the child in you: it's the most precious thing we have! With my kindest regards, Vince

  • @s145611 that's a really beautiful comment :) there's something about this song that just takes you way back...

  • My great taste in music brought me here....

  • CLASS.

  • people ought to know this without being brought here

  • I would be not convicted by a jury of my peers............

    This is my life.

  • Larry David....lol....love Curb......Im Still VERY crazy after ALL these years

  • Larry David brought me here!

  • @WhateveR0786 Me too.

  • @WhateveR0786 anyone else see him in a chicken costume??????????.lol

  • The song is from the heart with soul

  • *** sorry my bad, you have trapped out, not tapped out, so what the hell does trapped out mean anyway, who ever wrote that sht needs a hearing aid, trapped, yeah 4 in the morning trapped out, where, outside???? & yawning really??? Oh yeah that makes sense LOL

  • don't mean to complain, it just really pisses me off when incorrect lyrics get posted , listen to the song , I don't care where you get your lyrics from,

, it's "crapped out" not tapped out ,what is he a tag team wrestler???/ And now I sit by my window & I watch the cars, not watch the cars go by, where does he sing that? thought you should know so you could correct it. Thanks for posting the song though, can't help it I'm a stickler for correct lyrics.

  • @seakor actually tapped out can also refer to being drained entirely sort of like a maple tree that you "tap"

obviously all of therse words have a place= crapped tapped trapped

but i dont think tapped is necessarily wrong

  • @syngar99 No it's not wrong, when I sing this song, I can change his lyrics and sometimes do, it's artistic license, but don't make the mistake of putting words in the mouth of the song writer, he wrote it , so give him credit, and don't try to justify your mistake, by telling me that all these word's have a place, they do, just not in the original lyrics by Paul Simon.

  • @seakor

    totally hilarious

i laughed so hard when i read your comment

  • A classic song that is timeless. I saw this on curb your enthusiasm awhile back.

  • this will always remind me of people I've loved, no matter how long ago.

  • That saxophone solo comes from another place and always touches my heart. Micheal Brecker sure knew how to leave his calling card and the music world is less than what it was without him.

  • I'm still Crazy for Paul Simon after all these years !

  • I'd like to hear Charles Manson sing this. lol

  • @glimmer2158 A duet with his wife Charlotte Manson.

  • For years I thought the line after "Four in the morning" was "Crapped out". Then I saw the Central Park video it it seemed he sang "Tapped out". Now I see the line is "Trapped out", whatever that means. I still think that "Crapped out" would have been a better line!

  • @observer9670 i think i know where the confusion on the lyrics is coming from, karen carpenters version is "crashed out", ray charles version is "tapped out" and i havnt heard a version with "trapped out" but i hear paul simons version as "crapped out".

  • @ialwaysgetkicked1 "Crept out" ?Yawning? As in leaving before she awoke? 'Its all gonna fade'? Just a theory lol

  • Being crazy is what keeps you from being insane!

  • I'm just watchin Curb Your Enthusiasm 1st series - Larry is playing this and singing along...so good.

  • Thank god for Larry David, not just a masterfully funny man but also he introduced me to this song. so good.

  • I just love this song..

  • Thanks to SNL, i cant listen to this song without thinking of Paul Simon in a chicken suit

  • @Squadillah TURKEY suit, I meant. Not chicken. My mistake

  • just been in the concert in israel... woooowww!!!!! i enjoyed soooo much!!! thank u paul!!! <3 <3 <3

  • this is another favorite of mine.

  • this isnt the song i was thinking of...i have this paul simon song in my head, maybe with garfunkle...and i wish i could sing the tune for you, so you could tell me what song it is..its a sad, pretty tune...like "dum da da doo doo dooo doo doooooweedooooo, da dooooo di dooooooo di doooooooo...."

  • @longfootbuddy

    Try American tune

  • @TheRealSumo thats it, good job and thanks

  • loving the sax soloette

  • I love this song. So wonderful with a laid back sort of feel to it. It never gets old. Sort of like fine wine. Gets better with time.

  • I always remember Paul on SNL in the turkey costume singing this song, make's me laugh everytime!!

  • Paul simon the best for ever

  • Man, I sure do love me some Paul Simon. If I ever saw him walking down the street, I would pounce on him and demand that he signed my back with a permanent marker.

  • Paul is a really superb his music art, please listen to Art Garfunkel "i only have eyes for you" partner counterpart. jimmy raposo

  • Paul WAS crazy to agree to appear on SNL, dressed as a turkey. He hit #40 in Billboard, 5-29-76. God bless ya, for postin' it. Shalom, Paul. Thanx!

  • 2 people will be convicted by a jury of their peers.

  • its not nostalgia 4 i am young its just that no body wriets this way or composes so beautifully and richly in harmony nowadays

    simply beautiful

  • @aviryd no doubt....

  • @aviryd A case of all show and NO tell?

  • A song that touches the soul! "....I fear I'll do some damage one fine day..."

  • AHHHHHHH simply awesome !

  • Lovely song! :)

  • ;-)

  • My favorite Paul Simon song and my favorite style of electric piano.

  • I'm not the kind of man

    Who tends to socialize

    I seem to lean on

    Old familiar ways

And I aint no fool for love songs

    That whisper in my ears

Still crazy afler all these years

    gets me every time...

  • larry david made me do it!

  • Mister Simon are you still crazy after all these years?

  • Just recently on facebook I found my college sweetheart & now we're together again this song really hits the nail right on the head - still crazy after all these years. He apologized for breaking up w/me said it was the biggest mistake he made & i forgave him.

  • @nrgize100 that's so beautiful!! good for you!

  • his wives? .......no this is dedicated to Charles 'chaz' Manson and his 'family'

Helter Skelter ! Helter Skelter !

    LoL

  • Larry David :)

  • @scouselad1991 Yup! I went back to the first season...just watched that episode!

  • @scouselad1991 I'm not the kind of man... who tends to socialiiiize! :)

  • hmm i wonder is this aimed at any of his wives in general

  • WOW... this song is PERFECT for my family! And for the Single Chair at Mad River!!!!! :D

  • uclrichard, you are a dumbass

  • @moomatz you are the dumbass

  • At one point in time who hasn't felt like this.

  • beautiful song, never gets old.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm still crazy after all these years.

  • "And we talked about some old times, and we drank ourselves some beers...."

  • Pauls voice is so simply and pure and needs to be heard on Vinyl .Awesome sounds.

  • Nobody can touch you like Paul Simon. I mean in a good way...

  • Nobody can touch you like Paul Simon.

  • Paul Simon is my spiritual liege.

  • Amanda, David loves you

still crazy after all these years...............

  • I hate to say this but this song should have been dedicated to me .

  • I remember when Paul tied to sing this on SNL in 1975....wearing a turkey costume!

  • So many Precious songs came through this man....he is a National Treasure.

    Him and his buddy, Art.

  • Beautiful chord changes in this song.

  • @cspack1 Yes indeed.

  • Great arrangement too

  • beutiful song

    thank you

  • Shame about the sax solo at 2:12. So many good pop songs in the mid 70s had them and now they sound dated and boring.

  • @coolitababy I tend to disagree with you on that. I don't they are dated at all I'm actually more inclined to think that they are a classic sound that is timeless.

  • @coolitababy . Dated? By dated do you me timeless and awesome.

  • I am 54 today and this is my song...........don't anyone doubt it, god bless you all.

  • @bgp1956 .. mine too..played the album so long had to buy another one at Tower:)

  • thank you M.Simon

  • this is another favorite of mine.

  • The line in the song describes how I feel evey time I get up to go to work at the plant. 4 in the morning, crapped out, yawning. But 15 hrs later, Im OK.

  • Fitting after last night enjoy!

  • The correct lyric is "Crapped out, yawning" not trapped out yawning.

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • This Song is Still Cool After All These Years......

  • @taylormade6700 Yes, still cool. 35 year after I'm still impressed by the saxo solo.

  • Unforgettable, haunting beautiful and uniquely original work of musical art by a masterful songwriter/singer. The kind of 'pop' song that remains moving and powerful decades after its release (1975) and a song that will definitely be an important part of Paul Simons musical legacy.

  • the best version of this great new york/london song...stunning in its confessional power, mildly shocking in its honesty. in short: a minor masterpiece by a major songwriter.

  • @uclrichard

Are there other versions? What makes it a New York - London song? Are you easily shocked? Do you mean a minor masterpiece because it is in a minor key or because it is a small wonder? Why is it honest and confessional - is it biographical?
