  • pice of shart evo just sat that one out haha

  • I love my rotaries by the way (I have two rx7s, vids on here). I'm just not blind to real facts and history.

  • Regarding the 787b. It won one single race (one that counted admittedly). It never won anything else. The win is due to reliability as the faster cars faltered and failed.

It also wasn't banned. Group C rules ended as the new f1 inspired 3.5litre rules came in. The 26b along with all the other groupc cars now didn't fit.

The 26b was used in the rx792p but was underpowered compared to it's competition (Imsa) All the history is there if you research.

  • It seems to have slowed down...is it wearing out?

  • This has been my dream car for some years now ... Looked WAY better in Red though :)

  • Lol hondas racing the 7.

  • @sumozack looked like a lancer that was riced up

  • How the HELL does a peripheral port 4 rotor only make 430 at the wheels?? That seems extremely low.

  • @colindyvig rotory engines are about torq not hp

  • @thor8333 Are you retarded?

  • @thor8333 lol what the fuck dude rotarys have bugger all torque but then again in figures a rotary with half the horse power of a v8 will still clean up a v8

  • @rollzon20z

That's not entirely true. V8's are usually (because of the vehicles that they are designed to go into) broad powerband, torquey engines that won't really rev much. Rotaries are not torquey at all, heavly ported rotaries tend to behave like two strokes (lots of peaky HP but not much torque down low)... so in a drag race you'll lag until the engine builds revs and if you keep it in the powerband it will beat a V8 with the same BMEP (forget Hp), but not from the start.

  • @thor8333

    LMAO you must be stupid

  • Comment removed

  • what hood is that

  • Sick!! i see it is up for sale on trademe. goodluck with the sale mate.

  • @1991ProbeLX

no.... i said FD as in twin-turbo

  • I would love to have a 20b but a 26b... Omg! There is a reason why this motor isn't aloud in the lemans no more. Unfair advantage. Similar to the big hemi's in nascar in the 70's they had the regulator power and what not. Love the rotary!

  • thats beast and the ricer got beat in the first run sucks to be that guy

  • Legit!!!!!!!

  • lol...why did the evo even bother...

  • what trans u running, great job,it sounds na as well pp

  • i will trade you my house for your car? let me know

  • @losganjaless whats air shift auto?

  • thats fucking sick yall.

  • @losganjaless its auto

  • I always thought the 26b came with 700hp stock?

  • @Tj1056 Ummmmm did you mean its not a Factory Mazda-built 26b?

  • @GAG4IT I commented on this video before I knew much about the R26B and other 26b

  • @Tj1056 lol algd!

  • @GAG4IT ?

  • @Tj1056 you sed "I commented on this video before I knew much about the R26B and other 26b" and i replied with "lol algood"

  • @Tj1056 a stock 26b engine should come with 350 bhp minimum. its balancing and tuning that makes it powerful. the mad mike is a custom made 26b but its very well alike the 787b mazda 26b. and its a sequential i think :D

  • @richrich27 yes and also the r26b had 3 spark plugs per rotor... wish i had that on my rotary haha... each rotor should equal a total of 125hpx4 500hp lowest mark I would see if you are using 13b-rew parts just one built motor and not 2 put together like a few have done lol... those 4 rotor have seen 600hp+ easy with porting and tunning

  • @Tj1056 true. but rotary engines run rich naturally because of the secondary fuel injectors. if 13b-rew runs max at 290hp (that is twin-turbo) then it should run 90-130 hp per rotor. this is an amazing engine. but hard to maintain... oil consumption is crazy on this car... smog and stuff...

  • @richrich27 yea thats why 3 plugs would change the whole thing lol... more spark run less rich, will be more fuel friendly.. btw thats how the 4 rotor won the le mans... its gas lasted longer then the rest lol... and people say the rotary is not fuel efficient

  • @Tj1056 well they usually are not fuel efficient, the 13b gets 18 mpg on a good day

  • @SRZsmack

the car is up for sale :

Mazda FOUR ROTOR RX7 1992 - Asking price: NZ$ 58,000 Or Near Offer on "Trade Me"

  • @SRZsmack sounds pretty great for a 17 year old enigne...

  • @Tj1056 actually that kind of gas mileage was very common 17 years ago the 240sx and the supra of the same year also got 18 mpg lol

  • @SRZsmack so that would make it perfectly fine then since the rotary is compared to v6 and v8...

  • @SRZsmack Mine gets 26mpg all day every day in mixed driving.... its called maintaining and having an excellent tuner....

stock, my FD still got 22-24mpg

  • @Tj1056

LOL I love the 787B I really do. But it won because of holes in the regulations, not because it was fuel efficient. Mazda, though, has managed to capitalize on that victory and sell people the idea that the rotary CAN be fuel efficient, and technically it can, almost any engine can... but what it will never be is eco-friendly, because of the harsh emissions from burning low amounts of oil. The wankel engine would need a heavy revision to it's mechanics, to becomes eco-friendly.

  • @Acruz9301 what holes in the regulations? why not just state what was wrong and how it helped them win?...

  • @Acruz9301 True, sadly. Still love rotors though, just for the sound and image they have. They're kind of the underdogs in racing lol

  • @richrich27 and 1660whp+ on turbo unit

  • @richrich27 wrong, a 20B will at a minimum make 350hp all motor..... even a 12A based 4rotor (24B) will make about 500hp all motor.... a 13b based 4rotor (26B) will make AT LEAST 600hp with the right tuning...

Mad Mikes FD is peripheral ported and makes around 620hp

  • @richrich27 the R226B in the 787B was rated at 700hp@9000rpm(detuned for LeMans) and 900hp@12000rpm ( uncorked)

the magic with the 4rotor is NOT is balancing, its in the port work and compression ratio.

  • sweet

  • sounds like an F1 car!!!!

  • fantastic sound!

  • Holy............ :/

  • that sounds great

  • this think is BADASS!

    2.6 liter N/A 10 sec. "SICK!"
