  • "eaten" not "eated".

  • @1971SuperLead He was doing a Lol cat kinda thing with the toad. Get the joke it was intentional.

  • @iscay666 Oh, thank God! I was horrified that someone made a grammatical error.

  • @1971SuperLead I know I nearly spat the coffee I was drinking on the keyboard when I saw it! The audacity of a possible grammatical error, the horror of it all!

  • I really like this video! Hopefully during the summer I'll be able to go on a similar trip. This video gets a thumbs up and is going in my favorites.

  • great vid!

  • Love the music.

  • i was there in the afternoon of the 13th. we didn't spend to much time because our goal was to get to pagosa springs that same day. (we started in colorado springs).

  • I love the Sand Dunes. We went there a lot when I was a kid. One of my favorite things still is to go there in the early summer and hang out by the river.

  • What is the song during his timelapse?

    I like it, very catchy

  • Drove by here too. It was very rainy those days. Lots of deer on the coming roads... at night. Live and dead.

  • "so that's a toad"

    A little redundant, eh, Thunderf00t?

I laughed pretty hard at that.

  • me too

  • eaten* (Sorry, I just had to.)

  • It's been calculated that there are about 100 stars for every grain of sand on earth in the known universe. When you look at just one sand dune, it absolutely boggles the mind. The universe is absolutely amazing.

  • i see those all the time at my house.

  • that was really worth waching

  • That's a really cool effect, thanks for posting vids on during your travels.

  • at 2:16, oh fuck oh fuck, yes yes faster faster, oh i'm cuming hard yes yes fuck fuck god!!!! yes, suck it suck it!!!!

  • ...lol

  • ur a little too young to be reading my comment mister...lol... now i have to cut ur ears off

  • LOL, was just funny thats all. I think your a bit too young to understand Thunderf00t's videos...

  • i was just being funny.. world is serious

  • that is one big arsed sand dune thunderfoot

  • Cool!

  • I could watch your vids over and over and over again man... keep up the good work

    * actually I prolly have

  • It's absolutely amazing that how many people view a beautiful sunset and see absolute proof of a god. I can't tell you how many people have responded to my atheism with "haven't you ever seen a beautiful sunset?" as if it were self evident that the only possible cause for a sunset is a god.

  • Your timelapse stuff is awesome

  • I love those dunes. That part you can see at 2:08 or so is just the tip of the iceberg, and it's a LOT bigger and hard to get up than it looks. but if you can make it to the top, on the other side of it there's a HUGE expanse of miles and miles of dunes. And I'm a huge fan of the Dune novels (originals) so I was really enjoying it. It's a great place.

  • nice camera you have, cool vid

  • Where there's water there's life, huh?

  • I was just at the Sangre de Cristo's a few weeks ago. You just missed me!

  • "When it's going a little better- Ooh, Hummingbird" :p

  • name of the song?

  • these videos are awesome

  • Thanks for sharing this with us T-F00t. What is your next destination?

    -Modias

  • A truly excellent bucket and spade moment.

  • Towards the end when you zoomed in, it really gave an idea of how big the place is, its immense!

  • Evolution as much of a fact as water is H2O

Majority in all of the world dominant religions accept evolution for fact that it is too. People that dont either have no education or are paranoid and brainwashed

    Praise the Santa Clause

  • If you're being sarcastic, nevermind my comment :)

  • No the evil atheist conspiracy is to get everybody to sin by eating coconuts which God doesn't want you to open, unlike the bannana which has never changed since it's Creation... ¬_¬

  • Thank You.

  • Thundef00t, I'm about to take a road trip down to my mum's house in Santa Fe. Is there an email that I could reach you at, maybe we could chat for a min or two

  • 1:24 - 1:26 *cue X-Files theme* What's that hovering near the left edge of the screen? ;)

  • 1:39 - 1:41 You can clearly see it's a cloud.

  • kool.

the last ten sec was great!!!

  • sat in that creek as a kid, the waves would push you downstream for a bit.

  • I've been to the sand dunes. I also remember playing in the little creek and making little dams to divert it around. I also remember how hot the sand was under foot, and that every bite of food was gritty.

Pss. Don't alert the authorities but, I took some sand. There is an abundance of magnetic shavings in it, and I put the sand in a glass jar and use a neodenuim magnet to play with the filings.

  • dont drink the water in mexico.

  • Wonderful!

  • When it's going a little better - hummingbird! xD

  • Awesome stuff!

  • But did you hike the dunes, thunderf00t?

  • That was beautiful. Thank you.

  • You were so lucky to be there at the right time! Dam building is always fun!

  • Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

  • Is it just me or can you watch the waves moving uphill in the time lapse? Great vid, again!!!

  • I'm not sure those waves travelling upstream are as rare as you thinking. Many of the beaches round where I leave have little streams running down them creating the same effect. Maybe I just happen to live in one of the few places in the world where it happens lol. Excellent video :) Hope you have a safe journey TF

  • Cool, as always.

  • That was cool with the water/blob. I wanna see stuff....

  • haha LOL Frogs

  • That was great, and thanks for showing the stream, fascinating waves indeed. :)

  • Good to see the time lapse running normal. Great video TF!

  • Camped there, and went dune surfing at midnight. They are awesome!

  • Beautiful place.

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • just beautiful

  • one word WOW! that's awesome view

  • that's 6 words

  • HAHAHA! you counted all the words LOL then got called on it LOL j/k

  • Loving all the timelapses, and what a coincidence you happened to turn up when they turned the water off and on again.

Loving all the stuff, looks great!

  • Good to see you survived the toad.. lol

  • Looks like what they've seen on mars, some of the wave shapes of the sand

  • why were people kneeling in the gross water?

  • I'm quite impressed that when you left the camera on the stand in time lapse mode you did not get some moron gawping at it or standing directly in front of it for a few minutes. That has happened to me before - maybe its a thing with English people.

However beautiful a mountain range with sand dunes may be to look at they gain a whole load more when you consider the geological processes that formed them and the time scales involved for that.

  • Great video. Thank you. :)

  • great video, thanks

  • are they searching for gold when the music starts? :S

  • Have you ever been to white sands? Amazingly stark and beautiful

  • Man, thats so close to here. If I had saw you, I would have loved to have shook your hand.

  • that must be Hovind's flood from his ass at 2:12 :)

  • 2:12

    HOLY SHIT! That scared me!

  • LOved it

  • that's it... I'm going. time to break out the gear and go. I've mistaken my rut for a groove...

    thanks.

  • i wish i had the time and money to go on a holiday in the states :( enjoy it for me thunderf00t, i'm so glad you let us know how you're doing ^^

  • Lol you should have played the 'King of the Hill' theme song at 5:00

  • Errr the water is just full of sand an dust.

I dare you to drink some.

  • Cool stuff, but what was in that water? eww. :p

  • Whoa, how lucky were you to just happen to go there the day the water was turned on! Cool video TF.

  • woow. it does look a lot like a UFO!! lol. and it is my opinion that the entire cycle of evolution has finaly led us to thunderfoot, who is essentially the perfect organism....

  • Leave it to this retard t believe in the devil and that a garden hose disproves evolution. *facepalm*

He never said the water flowed uphill. Comprehension skills fail. *double facepalm*

Ps: That's a cloud, you moron. *self-induced coma*

  • you're awesome TFoot :D

    <3

  • Nice video Thunderfoot, have a safe trip.

  • Thanx for uploading..

I really like the "fast foreward timetravels" ;)

  • I don't know why but that place looks sort of primordial. Maybe it was because they shot part of Walking with Monsters in a similer place.

  • It's a wonder that crops can grow so close to those massive dunes. Just the erosion of flying sand must be awful for almost all surfaces.

  • I was thinking those dont look so "Great" until you showed how small those people were on them.

  • Awesome video TFoot!

  • Agree'd

  • It was really impressive sight, the illusion of the dunes moving upstream. About 6:05.

  • @~3:00 -- That DOES look vaguely acidic...

  • Nah, water acts like that in sand

  • I never noticed it before, but Thunderf00t is very easily distracted by everything around him.

    Hummingbird!!!

    Haha! Great video man!

  • lol yea i thought the same thing. It reminded me of the dog from "UP".

    "Squirrel!"

  • Hi! Anyone know the music used in the time lapse?

  • Thunderfoot's so lucky, I wish I could experience all that.

  • I loved visiting the dunes. It's been about 12 years now though :(

  • Reminds me of Jockey's Ridge in North Carolina.

  • Awesome vid TF .

  • Wow. Thanks for this

  • XD and i bet ten dollars i know the swiss guy you're talking about.

you drove through San Luis, right? prettiest (and oldest) town in Colorado!

  • SON OF A BITCH!!!

    you were HERE?!!?!?!?! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XD after i nagged about how you needed to come here.

isn't it beautiful? i told you it was beautful!

  • Ahhhahahh... mate what I would give to take my Nikon to all these places... it would so beautiful.

  • I am scared to watch your videos now...your last one actually gave me a seizure, no joke o_O

  • THE FROTH! NOOO

It has now become somewhat of a dream of mine to travel around the US with somebody as educated as yourself. Not just seeing the specials but learning about them and understanding them.

What a coincidence you happened to be there that day :)

I thought it was universal law that redshirts died? It looks like they all lived wtf

  • These are such great videos. Feel like we are there with you with you make your trek through the beautiful American landscape. Keep upcoming!

  • Very entertaining. Thanks Thunderfoot.

  • Wonderful footage as always TF!

  • are you going to go to carlsbad NM, if you havent been its awesome beyond words.

plus where you are now and seem to be going. you are close to Tucumcari NM, that where i will be in a few weeks attending college for wind energy technology. if you're traveling on I40 you will see our turbine

  • Dunes like that are just begging to be sand boarded, or at the very least, surfed down on a stolen restate sign...

  • Excellent footage!

  • WTF what happend to Cali?????

  • The deal with Ray Comfort takes place in August. He has a lot of time to burn, and he's burning it by sight-seeing.

  • The commentary in the info section of these videos is great.

Canceling my subscription to National Geographic... : )

  • You had a glimmer of funky movement in your video at 4:16. The ground did a flagellum like whip that flashed up stream.

  • Gratuitous bug sex! You're better than that!

    LOL jk Very Nice!!

  • Come on, everyone knows sex sells! But I think he should have censored out the genitalia.

  • i bet ray is counting down till the impending doom

  • No dune buggies. Rats!

  • Simply breathtaking man. Amazing!

  • lol ADD mate.

  • TF, You have got to go there in May or June, best time. The river never gets more than a few inches deep, no matter how much run off there is. Instead of getting deeper, it just gets wider, and changes its course by the second. And because it is so shallow, it's always warm. Another odd thing is that you can climb a mile back into the dunes, which change constantly, and find plants growingIn nothing but sand? Pretty cool.

  • It's like going to the beach, with no ocean.

  • it's not like going to the beach at all. the dunes go up about 50 feet (and that's some of the lower ones). it's more like going to the Sahara desert. only without that sahara.

  • great video im really luving these time lapse vids

  • Had a bit of ADD there TF00t?

"But, when it's going a little better-- Hummingbird!"

  • I was thinking the same thing. Some of the greatest minds in science had ADHD, though. Makes me proud! lol

  • Makes you feel a little less alone, huh? :P

  • quote-Trapped by streams and wind the Great Sand Dunes have been up against the Sangre de Cristo (blood of Christ) mountains for 10s of thousands of years.-end of quote

that would be thousands of years befor earth was created...how can that be????*sarcasm*

  • You need your own TV show on Discovery for this kind of stuff. These videos are more interesting to me than most of what they put on those channels. I guess it's largely to do with the fact that the interest is genuine, and you're sharing the experience with us. You're not merely "presenting" it to us in some scripted format.

    Hopefully that makes sense heheh.

  • agreed. if TF had his on program on the tv i'd never miss it

  • Very cool! Can't wait to see where you record next!

  • i think that i'm going to have to have to create a playlist just for thunderf00t videos.

  • I love these vids.

  • nature is so cool.

  • Your camera must have a really really good battery on it.

  • Almost there.

  • I see sunsets like these everyday here in arizona

  • I love these videos but im just waiting for the debate between him and mr. banana.

  • You're gonna be waiting a long time,at least another month i think :P

  • Yay for T-foot.

  • thumb this up if you think Thunderf00t is the God of youtube!

  • I Think AronRa is but Tf00t is definitely a close second.

  • See I think ProfMTH is the God of youtube. My Prof is on religion front, AronRa is on the evolution front, and the great TF bridges the gap. Perhaps it takes a trinity.

  • hell yea TF
