@1971SuperLead I know I nearly spat the coffee I was drinking on the keyboard when I saw it! The audacity of a possible grammatical error, the horror of it all!
i was there in the afternoon of the 13th. we didn't spend to much time because our goal was to get to pagosa springs that same day. (we started in colorado springs).
I love the Sand Dunes. We went there a lot when I was a kid. One of my favorite things still is to go there in the early summer and hang out by the river.
It's been calculated that there are about 100 stars for every grain of sand on earth in the known universe. When you look at just one sand dune, it absolutely boggles the mind. The universe is absolutely amazing.
It's absolutely amazing that how many people view a beautiful sunset and see absolute proof of a god. I can't tell you how many people have responded to my atheism with "haven't you ever seen a beautiful sunset?" as if it were self evident that the only possible cause for a sunset is a god.
I love those dunes. That part you can see at 2:08 or so is just the tip of the iceberg, and it's a LOT bigger and hard to get up than it looks. but if you can make it to the top, on the other side of it there's a HUGE expanse of miles and miles of dunes. And I'm a huge fan of the Dune novels (originals) so I was really enjoying it. It's a great place.

These incredible sand dunes are testament to God's creative greatness. Blessed is he who praises the works of the lord. Evolution is an atheist conspiracy.
Majority in all of the world dominant religions accept evolution for fact that it is too. People that dont either have no education or are paranoid and brainwashed
No the evil atheist conspiracy is to get everybody to sin by eating coconuts which God doesn't want you to open, unlike the bannana which has never changed since it's Creation... ¬_¬
Thundef00t, I'm about to take a road trip down to my mum's house in Santa Fe. Is there an email that I could reach you at, maybe we could chat for a min or two
I've been to the sand dunes. I also remember playing in the little creek and making little dams to divert it around. I also remember how hot the sand was under foot, and that every bite of food was gritty.
Pss. Don't alert the authorities but, I took some sand. There is an abundance of magnetic shavings in it, and I put the sand in a glass jar and use a neodenuim magnet to play with the filings.
I'm not sure those waves travelling upstream are as rare as you thinking. Many of the beaches round where I leave have little streams running down them creating the same effect. Maybe I just happen to live in one of the few places in the world where it happens lol. Excellent video :) Hope you have a safe journey TF
I'm quite impressed that when you left the camera on the stand in time lapse mode you did not get some moron gawping at it or standing directly in front of it for a few minutes. That has happened to me before - maybe its a thing with English people.
However beautiful a mountain range with sand dunes may be to look at they gain a whole load more when you consider the geological processes that formed them and the time scales involved for that.

There is a UFO at 1:25 Probably to take thundef00t to the devil. Leave it up to thundef00t to believe water flows uphill. You truly have to be a moron to be an evilutionist.
woow. it does look a lot like a UFO!! lol. and it is my opinion that the entire cycle of evolution has finaly led us to thunderfoot, who is essentially the perfect organism....

TF, You have got to go there in May or June, best time. The river never gets more than a few inches deep, no matter how much run off there is. Instead of getting deeper, it just gets wider, and changes its course by the second. And because it is so shallow, it's always warm. Another odd thing is that you can climb a mile back into the dunes, which change constantly, and find plants growingIn nothing but sand? Pretty cool.
it's not like going to the beach at all. the dunes go up about 50 feet (and that's some of the lower ones). it's more like going to the Sahara desert. only without that sahara.
