I'm experiencing something like the headset is under water. The sound is muffled, and I don't know why. It's mostly when I have Dolby on, but it is also a little muffled when it's off.

Bare with me. I want to buy this for my boyfriend's birthday so I'm not sure about the technicality side of the headphones. Anyways, I was wondering whether the quality to both the wired and the wireless are different. Is one better than the other? Also, if the headphones ran out of batteries, can one link it back directly to the mixamp and use it like a pair of wired headphones? But without the need for batteries?

Why the fuck does Astro have to be so damn expensive? Jeez, my mom was asking me what I wanted for Christmas this year and she knew I wanted the A40's and I also wanted a PS3. So she made choose. A40s or PS3. My clear choice was the PS3. Sure we spent like 40 more bucks because we got the 320GB Uncharted 3 Edition which ran us $300 but we got an entirely new entertainment center with a Blu-ray player for movies. Now please, reply to this comment to see what would you have gotten in my situation.

Quality product, but Astro is just terrible with their pricing, and they make it annoyingly obvious. Like how their bundled systems cost $100 less in total that just proves they are overpricing certain items, then now unlike this video, the a40 bundles come with no case, only 2 speaker tags, and no foam inserts, yet the price is the same, oh but you can buy a 3 tag set for $20, a case for $20 and inserts for $10 on their site...youll just have to pay extra now...

I've had my a40's for about a year and I ADORE them, it's an awesome headset set up if you're into gaming and want to shell out the cash, the sound quality is great and I use the actual headphones for my gaming and my music, they're great!

@SirJackingtonB89 the wired ones allow you to connect it to your pc and skype WHILE you are playing or talking to friends. the "wireless" still has 3 cords if you are running it off usb. but I belivev it has bass boost. If you play mlg or close to your pc/mac and xbox i suggest the wired. If you play far from your tv not near a pc and plan just to use them for xbox/ps3 i suggest the wireless. That is just my suggestion its your money spend it how you want.

the only reason astros are slightly better sound quality is it runs on 5.8 ghz or wired

the turtle beaches runs on 2.4 ghz

because wifi routers modems laptops runs on 2.4 ghz it corrupts the turtle beachz connection

@Assassin7z PX5s doesnt work with pc and costs almost the same price as the astros a40 with mixamp, trttons ax pros/720 aren't wireless but works with pc, xbox. ps3 and has surround sound. i would go with the astros if you want to go all out on the headsets. (PX5s has bluetooth BTW which can be useful if you get a call)

It is a lot cheaper to buy these than to buy a surround sound set up, and you can see movies, hear music or play really loud without bothering other people. Any single player game will be a better experience and in multiplayer games you'll have advantage, so yeah, i think they are worth it
