  • @antecedo yea every single thing is back together. It still has the same code as before witch is the one your xbox had.

  • FUCK YEAH, this worked for me great! so happy.

  • "So basically what you need now is your mom's hair dryer"

  • PEOPLE! i know whats making the rrod! its the CAPACITERS! you want to look at them but DO NOT TOUCH THEM(the black tall cilanders) if you see stuff on top of them (brown) you need to replace them.

  • how long is this fix?

  • i have heard some rumors that upgrading to the kinect dash gives you red rings...if this is so, im going to be super mad

  • thumbs up for kittehs!!!

  • I seemed to have worked for me. But I am quite cynical I assume it will soon fail again... Great video though.

  • Works, I repaired mine a month ago and still lives. And I upgraded to the kinect dash straight after fixing, which had a GPU fix to make it heat up less, which helped even more.

  • :28 FTW!

  • at the beginning when you did that snyc/eject thing, mine says 0-1-0-2?

  • @TKOxthrashedx did you get to fix it, I get the saem error code!!

  • @masantana scottish

  • you should only hear the gpu chip under the heat sink., not the whole board..dafty, u r lucky you didnt dammage other components

  • @robblac *heat

  • thanks man, brilliant video really helpful and i don't need to buy a new xbox!

  • I did this and it worked, played for 30 mins so far and still working. Fan is very loud though. Any suggestions as to why that may be? Thanks for this temp fix :)

  • thumb up for the kitten

  • how long did you heated the mo bord ?

  • SCOTISH ACCENT!!! :)

  • 0020 (Not yet known, possibly overheating)

  • what does

    4030 mean? :(

  • aslo i forgot to mention i took the whole mobo out and heated under the gpu and cpu aswell

  • i did this and it worked for 5 mins then froze and then it rrod again then i tried it again and still rrod and suggestions

  • haha this worked for me lol . i had 1 red light e 73 . i concentrated all the heat on the biggest heat sink tho and kept blasting it with heat even after when it turned off of overheating ))) . left it to cool for 30 min and itworked ))

  • hey did it work on the tv ..

  • hi would this work with 2 red rings

  • isnt your code, 0020??

  • yeah it is 0020 not 0024

  • lol @ the cat

  • I had the audio but no video problem and when I tried this it fixed it for me, thanx a bunch mate, the only problem is it cost me to getthe t 10 trox screwdriver but oh well.

  • This worked for me, like a dream. Red Lights of death one minute......gaming like new the next. Thanks! I understand it's something to do with warming and re-melting cracked solder joints. Brilliant.

  • thanks this helped a lot :)

  • okay man mine freezes about 3 minutes after i start it up but it has no red lights will this fix mine?

  • hey great video it worked for me. i just dont know how long it will work for. i think it's temporary just like the towel fix because it's the same idea, you are just heating up the motherboard hoping for the parts to re solder them selves. I will keep you guys posted on how long it worked for me.

  • this would work for 1 red light?

  • HOw long will this fix work??

  • permanent

  • this actually is not a permanent fix

    this is a temp fix

to permanently fix it you need to take off the heatsinks and use a heat gun to re melt the solder joints to reflow the 360

or get a professional to reball your 360

this may work for some people, but i doubt it will actually repair you 360 for good

  • i did this and its been woring for 60 hours so far

  • you dont need to open it..... rap it in towels and leave it on :)

  • @slickback123 xclampfix, and alow to overheat no fans for 20 mins will reball it for you..no need to pay anyone.

  • @robblac

the heat the 360 produces without the fan isnt enough to even melt solder

how could that reball it for me?

you need either a heatgun or use an oven at 260 degrees celsius for it to reball

  • @slickback123 your obvlously wrong.thats why the fix works, dissagreeing is insane. think about it...

  • @robblac

it doesnt work, but only temporarily

please do your research before denying a perfectly correct theory

the theory that taking out the fans to allow it to overheat will not reflow it properly

this will temporarily give the balls under the bga some pressure to keep it together

the only sure fire way to reflow is to use a heat gun or griddle at 260 degrees celsius and go through it for a few minutes to melt the solder underneath the bga

  • @slickback123 balls....

  • I mean when I turned it on after I did the hairdryer it gave it 3 red rings(RROD). How long do I wait for it to cool down?

  • Comment removed

  • im gonna try this

  • thank you, i followed ur way and it got fixed!!

    really, thank you!

  • i cannot thank you enough , i just did it , following your video , and its good again , to think i would almost break my 360 ,

    may GOD bless you

  • help ful

  • At the start you do the thing in the sync and eject, and get 0-0-2-4.. I have the three lights problem aswell and I wanna try this but I get 0-0-2-2.. can I try this?

  • Cant hurt... give it a go and see if it works - you might be pleasantly surprised :) comment back and let me know how it goes :)

  • I tryed it and now I had 2 red lights, I got tired of it and sent it to an electronics repair shop, they said they would probably fix it, but they're not sure. on tuesday ill know if they're good to go.. thanks for replying btw

  • 2 red lights is overheat.

how long did you leave it before turning it on again - the thermal compound on the cpu and gpu may need to be replaced if you left it for more than 30 min before turning it on and still got 2 red lights.

  • Hey antecedo, you sound like one of them posh Edinburgh kids ;o)

Thanks for your video. I had paid a guy £35 to fix my one red light before and was dubious about paying him again. I don't have a heat gun so thought a hair-dryer may work. Searched you-tube and hit your video. Gave it a try and it worked first time!

    Cheers buddy :o)

  • PS2 sucks ass just stfu.

  • PS2 is a good system man relaxe

  • @meghankc841 your spelling sucks ass

  • Well it varies, I've had one last for about 2 months this way.. In most of the Xbox's I have repaired the problem seems to lay on the underside of the board at the GPU, some of the components come loose and disconnect from the board. To fix it more permanently take the board out and take a look (remove the X brackets), a damaged board may have the components sticking out at odd angles. It is also worth noting that some of these components are not needed, they are just to keep the FCC happy.

  • ridiculous, yeaaa xbox always come with problem..ps3 better but everyone know the cost should bay for ps3..the right way is no need waste ur money for any console,JUST PLAY WITH UR OWN DICK...!

  • Ok to settle everything. Microsoft rushed to get the 360 out to get a jump on next gen sales before the Wii and PS3. Thus they have lacked in quality a little bit. Sony took there time and only had a fraction of the problems Microsoft did. And PS3's game engine is more advanced then the 360 so less crappier games will be made in the long run. That is why PS3 is boring. Both systems have their ups and downs.

  • people play their xboxs to much so they break no one can break a ps3 cos there too boring to play

  • OMG DUDE it worked u r a fukin legend mate u r my idol thanks a lot fukin ell lol LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PS3 is worse than 360... Just because Sony make shitty things, and Microsoft the better things.

  • You're an idiot. PS3 has more reliability than 360. Look at how many people have messed up 360s and how many people have messed up PS3s. You're obviously a fanboy so I don't blame you.
