  • i was there '01 i think... i remember that i almost fell out of the seat :D i was tiny!

  • I have a memory of going on this one as a kid (around '95) and I remember there being a naked lady painted over the entrance to the tunnel. Can anyone confirm this or did I just imagine it?

  • @doubledowntime - You are correct...there was a board that used to be fixed above the entrance to the last tunnelled section, featuring a naked woman, and you passed between her legs...you were no imagining it. I have got a photo somewhere with the "lady" in question!

  • @davidjellis Haha, I knew it!!! If you find it, could you upload it to imgshack or something like that? I was there with my whole family and no one noticed but me so this would be a long-time-coming "I told you so"-moment for me.

  • @doubledowntime - There is a picture of the lady on themeparkreview

go to their website and after the dotcom type /forum/files/tivoligardens_10a_204.jpg

    - smil du er på

  • Nice vid of an old classic.

  • i realllllyy scared when we ride here hahahaha...............

  • Since the news cars from 2010, this one i not fun anymore..

You should date 2010. Not 1932...

  • sidefrictioncoaster its a cool name but I don't know how it works.

  • @sidefrictioncoaster - check wikipedia and look up Side friction roller coaster...there is a good article on it there (Youtube won't allow me to post the link)

  • How does side friction work ??please tell me .

  • @sidefrictioncoaster - if you don't know, how come you have sidefrictioncoaster as your user name?

  • How does side friction work ??please tell me .

  • why

  • @sketchly60 - why what?

  • @davidjellis uhm it was a while ago i forgot to check my messages so they got old and i didnt see it so wat i said was this coster was nothing compared to the coasters these days and someone said u r so wrong idk confusing

  • OMG in Finland Helsinki at Linnanmäki is the SAME!!!!! =)

  • @nannacat3 - Yes, Vuoristorata was built to the same design...well-spotted.

  • I was there yesterday with my school. I was great. loved it.

  • Comment removed

  • this is nothing compared to the coasters these days lol ;)

  • I like the road signs that they had put up on the track

  • it's so funny, and it's funny to give people the finger when we're in the tunnel;P

  • Den er blevet kedelig

  • hahahah yeah woo jag ska åka den på måndag den 12 juli ye

  • @P0zquick THE oldest rollercoaster in the world.

  • @P0zquick - it is the 22nd oldest operating coaster in the World, opened in 1932.

  • What's more impressing is the age of Bakken, it opened in 1583

  • Wow, two double downs. :O

  • wich is best this park or tivoli garden r going to denmark soon

  • they are both good but very different to each other. Tivoli Gardens offers rides but also music, shows and superb restaurants and is a popular place for city folks to hang out...Bakken is more a traditional fairground. Do both...you won't regret it!

  • @davidjellis is it in copenhagen

  • It is reasonably close to Copenhagen...maybe 30 minutes drive away, so I guess public transport would go that way from the city.

  • @davidjellis No its more than 30 minutes from copenhagen i think its about 1 hour..^^

  • @zzzz0313zzzz Klampenborg... Close to Copenhagen.

  • @davidjellis

I think bakken is more boring:/

  • @thevideosforfun - More boring than what?

  • @davidjellis

    Than tivoli

  • @thevideosforfun - well Bakken is a bit different than Tivoli...I like both places, and Tivoli does have a really magical atmosphere, but Bakken has some fun rides...the mine train coaster Ulven is fantastic.

  • @davidjellis

Yeah Ulven is the only good one the only problem was that there was only 2 seats and we were three so i sat in the midle and almost flew of :(

    Not the best security hehehe

  • @zzzz0313zzzz its bakken ! :D bakken is the best of them all or maybe tivoli but gakken thats the park i like to go

  • @zzzz0313zzzz they are both very good, i suggest you go to both, they are the two oldest amusement parks in the world. "bakken" is the oldest one. Train C goes to bakken its really easy to get there by public transportation, and tivoli is in the center of copenhagen so shouldnt be any trouble finding it:)

  • worlds oldest rollercoaster of tree (Y) :D

  • Lol we have the extact same coaster here, in Finland!

  • Yes, I have ridden it at Linnanmaki Park, I think it is called Vuoristorata, or something like that...pretty much identical, although I found the Bakken one a little more exciting. Will be interesting to see if the new brakeman-less cars at Bakken make it less intense.

  • @davidjellis Ok.

By the way yea, it's called Vuoristorata and it means Rollercoaster

  • at 1:23 if you pause you can see a house in the left. a old man lives there, that lucky bastard :D

  • Isn't this the oldest rollercoaster in europe? or maybe scandinavia?

  • No, that would be the scenic railway coaster at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, which has an identical name. I also have a video of that ride on my channel.

  • @Posaha It's actually the oldest roller-coaster in the world i think.

  • @emilovitz1994 omg? it cant be? :O

  • @emilovitz1994 Just checked. Oldest roller coaster: Leap The Dips, Lakemont Park

    2nd oldest:Scienic Railway.

    3rd: Rutschebanen :p

  • I hope your all enjoy your stay on "bakken" and in denmark !

  • i am in daenmark now

  • awesome!!!

  • Man fortryder næsten altid når man først er oppe på toppen :P "Åh åh! Bræsser den nu sammen?!" men når man så er kommet ned vil man bare prøve igen :P

  • skal snart på bakken

  • The rollercoaster just got new trains, which does NOT have a brakeman :(

  • I know...that's really sad. Does anyone have any footage of the coaster with the new trains?

  • Here is one from a local newspaper. Damn, i was lokking forward to ride it, with the old train, when the season starts

  • Too bad for the breakmen :( They got fired XD

  • Shame...they were always called Lars...when we were there last time the 3 brakemen were Lars, Lars and...Lars!

  • @FanTazTiCxD They all still work there, just not as brakemen

  • Must suck for them still :P Cause that job must be awesome!

btw. jeg taler altså dansk :P

  • @hjortekid New trains? Why do people always ruin something good? :( It was good the way it was!

  • wieeeeeee:)

  • i love that.!

  • Har lige prøvet den i dag!

  • hahah, almost same than a roller coaster in helsinki, finland :D

  • It is...pretty much identical ride, but I found the Bakken one a little more intense.

  • i love this rollercoaster! 5/5

  • lol so the waggon can like fly??? i love that rollercoaster but i didnt fly that time .....

  • If the "brakeman" dosnt do his job......yes the wagon can fly off the track!!!

  • @kyringe hey man that's what I think everytime I ride this. I keep telling myself that the brakeman is a professional, and he knows exactly what he's doing, but again, I just pray that the wagons stay on the bloody track!

  • Ive been there yesterday!

  • Wait a minute... people pay for that? LMAO!!

  • Why LMAO...I have ridden almost 700 coasters all over the world, and this coaster which is over 70 years old still packs a punch. The speed is controlled by a brakeman that sits on a seat at the back of the train, and depending which operator you get you can get a LOT of airtime! Don't judge a ride you haven't ridden.

  • 700 ? lol ! noob ! fu*king noob !

have you try the hulk coaster ? i dont think so ! do you have try the rockingroll coaster ? i dont think so !

  • Answers to your questions:

    Yes, and Yes.

and it is Rock 'n 'Roller Coaster!

Please try not to be so rude. If you haven't actually tried one of these scenic railways for yourself and simply judge things by looking at a video, you are not in a position to criticise my 700 coasters!

  • Firsly I am not Danish. I live in UK and have ridden coasters in 18 countries around the world. As well as providing sounds for the game Roller Coaster Tycoon (I am friends with Chris Sawyer), I have met coaster designers John Wardley, Werner Stengel, Denise Dinn Larrick and others, I know personally half the crew from GCII, have visited factories for Vekoma and PTC. I have even ridden 356 coasters in USA. Pick the bones out of that!

  • oka, you win ;p do you film them all ?

  • I film on-ride where the parks let me. I mainly visit parks with the European Coaster Club or the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain, so we have organised trips to the parks and have exclusive riding time when the park is closed to the public. Many parks allow us to film during exclusive riding. I make DVDs from the Club trip for those on the trip. I have done coaster trips with Chris RCT Sawyer too. Some parks simply say no to filming on-ride though, but I film when I can!

  • marsbar12 omg 10 names wow you are a frekky nerd .!!!! lol get a life

  • @marsbar12

You get -1 for calling him "danish fucking noob" from me. It's not all about being very clever or being a fucking noob...

  • No?? We dont pay for that... We pay for every

carousel... And this roaler coaster is kinda old.... This park is old to ^^

  • The first roller coaster in bakken :D

  • like the oldest coaster still running i think!

didnt it open 1914 or something?

thats a loooooooong time ago lol.

cool that it still kicks ass after this long

  • theres one a bit like this at tivoli gardens, also in denmark.

  • I love this rollercoaster

  • what ever but bakken was the first themepark

  • Yes, I know...I believe having some form of amusement park on the site dates back to 1583, but of course there were no roller coasters there until much more recently.

  • No it isn't...this coaster was built in 1932, almost 50 years after the first roller coaster was built. It is still one of the oldest in existence and a great ride.

  • this is the first roller coaster ever

  • WTF 1:18

  • Bakken <333 Sommar snart ;D Blir nog bakken några gånger :D

  • like balder in Liseberg more

  • Loved this ride. Kinda weird when I saw the operator guy in the back was sitting freely without a seatbelt or anything haha.. i mean if you put your hands up in the first fall you levitate on your seat.. so he must hold on hard lol.

Anyway, I think Balder in Liseberg was MUCH MUCH wilder, But hten again, Bakken coaster = 80 years old, liseberg = 4-5 years old.

  • @Kurd1shRetskrad the guy is the brakeman

  • @Kurd1shRetskrad is liseberg a good coaster i u are from denmar norway or sweden you dont need to answer in english :D im norwegian and i wrote this comment before i watched the vid soo i fyou speak any lagnuage in the vid yea my bad ;D

  • this is my favourite rollercoaster in the whole world in the oldest theme park in the world, i was a little scared at first especially seeing the brakeman nearly fly out but then i went on it a grand total of 10 times and didnt get tired of it. =D

  • jeg skal på bakken på lørdag yay hihi

  • Skal til bakken på Fredag

  • Why do you say that? Remember, this ride is still going strong after nearly 80 years...how many rides built today do you think will survive as long?

  • Stort set alle, og de holder sikkert længere.

  • The most rollercoasters you see today, will have 3/4 of them abandoned and scrapped in the next 30 years, due to company`s either going bankrupt or stopping in manufacturing the coaster. This ride and Rutschebanen at Tivoli are rare species (Since most of these closed back in the 60`s) that still goes strong even to this day.

  • Yes it does.

  • does this one also have a brakeman?

  • Yes

  • at the last hump before the tunnel the brakeman nearly falls out

i went on this in august it is the best

  • danish; haha, den har jeg prøvet før.

    den er total sjov.

english; lol, i have trying that one before many times. its totally fun.

  • I`m going to Bakken tomorrow!^_^

  • It's completely the same rollercoaster than in Finland which is older than this one in Denmark.

Only the tunnel part is a little bit longer than in Finland's one.

  • I doubt it's older..

  • You are correct to doubt...Bakken's was built in 1932, and Vuoristorata at Linnanmaki in Finland was built 19 years later in 1951. I have ridden both, and they are indeed the same layout, but the Bakken one feels a bit more intense. David.

  • Yes,the Bakken one is faster.

  • ok im going to bakken AGAIN in saturday gonna try this of course but O.o....Ulven cant match with this.

  • nothing.... its still fun, really shaky though

  • O.o

  • i went on it and oh, i can just tell you, its extremely fun! there are so many bunjy-jumps! - im danish :)

  • I tried this its amazing!

  • my mom went on this long ago,she thinks its fun:D

    Going 2day :D

    YAAAAY!

  • going there 2 morrow! Yay:D

going from Malmö,cuz i live in sweden.

    :P

  • I was there yesterday ^^

  • i love this ride

  • lol its not scary at all

  • ...but have you ridden it. The wide angled lens doesn't do the ride justice...and remember the train sits ON the track...only the actions of the brakeman stops it lifting off (there are no upstop wheels). Does that sound more scary?

  • lol no XD

  • fun i tryed it 3 days ago, oh fuck when it was going down it wasnt so scary, but when it hit the ground, SHIT! i thought i was falling off my seat, overall, very fun ride!

  • This thing must have been like the most intense ride in the world when it opened.

  • The one in tivoli gardens is better in scenery and this one is better in speed, but I think that the one in tivoli gardens is better because the scenery is lovely so you like it better :)

  • this is 10 times better than tivolis... this feels like a roller coaster, tivolis doesn't

  • Jeg ville ønske at jeg kunne komme på bakken hver dag og prøve den!

  • ska dit nu i sommar! JAA!!!

  • Bakken is the oldest themepark in the WORLD

  • i live near Bakken :D

  • LOl du er heldig :D Jeg bor 1 ½ time væk fra djurssommerland. Har du hørt om den nye ruchebane " piraten " ? Det er den største og hurtigste i DANMARK :D

  • Meget bedre end den i tivoli :D

  • Wasn't this built in like 1915?

  • It was built in 1932. The scenic railway rutschebane at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen is the coaster from 1914/1915 you were thinking of.

  • I hurt my knee in this one because it's such a small space to sit in...

  • Bakkens bedste forlystelse!

  • the best wooden coaster everxD

  • okay sjov men den i tivoli er 10x bedre

  • videoen er jo slet ikk god :-d

  • allt som är kul är i mörkret

  • den er ik god
