  • That Mavis is a bad motorscooter on this one...!

  • Let's do again, again and again.

  • Love this song

  • I loved the movie. I was only 5,..but I still thought it was funny,...

especially during the chase scene & Cosby takes a piece o' chicken as they cut through the kitchen,...& when the bad guy tries the same thing he gets his hand slapped.

  • Great song and wonderful movie.I am so glad i have it on dvd and remember seeing it in the theaters when i was 9 years old.

  • JUST MAKE YOU WANT TO START LIFE IN THE RIGHT WAY LOVE IT.

  • This song reminds me of sitting on the porch on a nice summer day with a cold glass of lemonade. Hearing Mavis moan with sooo much soul just put the cherry on top. GOD I LOVED the 70's.

  • @sda1225 ~ Indeed the good ol' days, oh how I miss em'

  • @sda1225 So did I, especially the movie. Made in the setting of my hometown. Atlanta.

  • @ashveem0830 RIP to your dad.

  • Fabulous track!! I have this album!! ;D <3 xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • All I can say is REAL MUSIC at its BEST!

  • Word was that Pops didn't like this when he heard it for obvious reasons. Great song and GREAT performance but I can see, as a Dad, why it could have been a little uncomfortable to Pops.

  • That was REAL SOULFUL MUSIC, Growing up in the 70's...Straight from the Family Component Stereo! :->

  • We need a hit album with a great movie to go along with it, so the whole family can enjoy it like this rite here. There were some hot soundtracks and good movies back in the day.

  • OH BOY

  • SING IT POPS

  • This song and the movie are both Classics!!! Remember at the end of the movie when Bill is talkin to Sidney and they start playing the song. Too funny great ending to a great movie...

  • Best song ever. End of story

  • One of the funniest scenes of this movie was Bill and Sidney bumpin' to this song.

  • After seeing the movie, I immediately rushed out to buy the album. I still have it and sounds just as good as it did way back when.

  • ME AND MY GRANDMA ARE THE 2 BEST COOKS IN THE FAMILY. SO EVERYTIME WE ARE COOKING FOR THE FAMILY WE TURN THIS SONG ON AND WE BE DANCING IN THE KITCHEN WHILE WE ARE COOKING SOME CORNBREAD, FRIED CHICKEN , YELLOW RICE, BLACK EYE PEAS AND HOME MADE MASH POTATOS :D

(I remember reading it on my old 45, but I just locked it in that it was GK&P

  • @spiderSPIDER09 THEY ARE NOT DOUCHBAGS!!!

The wheels on their house cannot take such rhythmic sounds .

In this man's case, His house went on a flat.

  • Classic shit!

  • where can i get that "down in new Orleans" track ?

  • I don't know when this song came out, but I'm only 30 years old and I jam it louder & harder than any other song that comes on the radio. Mavis put some real feelings into it! Do it again!

  • The beginning phrase of this song was obviously used as a loop for a funny German rap-song, called "MÄNNER", rapped by a 9-year-old girl. Just search for the words "zigarettenrauchen" and "rosa". Really very strange!

  • LOVE The Staple Singers and Curtis Mayfield...I have my 14 year old son listening to REAL music. He laughs at today's music...LOL. Thanks for posting this cut.
