  • I can imagine Sade doing a version of this. That would be cool.

  • This was really music that you can call: "Real Music",made with feeling, inspiration, emotion, insteed of music of today:: "No head no tail".."No sense music"?No thanks!!!

  • America 2011-2012: so far away from the feeling of a carefree America in 1977...

  • excelente ...

  • and the surest things can change ... i kno that's right

  • God bless you wherever you are Gino! love alll ur music~ so young yet speak of family BCUZ YA KNOW!

  • УВАЖАЮ!!!

  • "The world is still in cloudless skies, but sad as rain; the surest things can change."

Love can make a heart and soul express such poetic lyrics....thank you Gino

  • This is one of his best to me. Roy Ayers made the song too, but Gino ate it up.

  • Somebody help me here....is this about the song or about the video? I'm ALL for Gino and yet I'm mesmerized by the video. I feel like I'm looking at my high school yearbook!

  • A very young lady once asked me after we had just had damm.........good......sex......

"will you love me forever?" I froze for a second , then I sang this song to her.

I sure do miss that ass!!!

  • What has happened to the music industry these days?????? This is REAL music.

  • It's all about nasally singers and autotune. I miss REAL music also- one has to look hard to find it!

  • Beautiful song, from both Gino and that angel that sang along with him. Please don't ever remove it...

  • Gino and his bro Joe and the best. Nothing has come close. The record industry just does not support real creative talent any longer.

  • @RecksRead Has it ever, really? Okay maybe a few like Sheryl Crow but not a great deal really.

  • excelente compilado y obvio excelente tema uno de mis favoritos de gino! Saludos!

  • Qué hermosa canción!!!

    Thank you StaytonHeyward!!!

  • The "Haunting female voice" is the childrens singer Joni Bartels. Extraordinary singer....she was never recognised for her true potential. This album was recorded in 1976 at Air Studios in London. The Beatles recorded there. Excellent recording engineered by the great Norm Kinney.

  • The very best!

  • This is a grat track, Gino was at his best in ballads. The drummer is Casey Scheuerell.

  • No me canso de decir: ¡Qué voz, qué voz, qué bella y varonil voz!

My God, one is perfectly raptured and enthralled by it! So perfectly Romantic!

Love your art so profoundly, precious Gino!

  • Hola Megamian , cierto es Vannelli unico e impresionante, yo le vi en España y estubo sobresaliente..., -me hubiera gustado seguir su gira mundial cuando actuaba con Joe

  • Es un tema precioso!!!

  • How good is this? Stevie Wonder could have written it, that's how good... damn near as good as "Creepin' ," that's how good.

Anybody have Freddy Hubbard's version (also gorgeous) to post?

  • Such a beautiful masterpiece, makes me highly emotional.

  • I listened to Gino back in the 70's. This song always makes me sad....his haunting voice

emotionaly understanding that nothing is promised to us....Gino always take me home.

  • That girl's voice is haunting too, especially at the end. Reminds me of my ex...lol

  • I have this LP and I used to play this song over and over. I bought it when it first came out. I absolutely love Gino Vanelli. He only gets better with age.

  • What doesn't change except to get better - if that's possible - is the artistry and skill of Gino Vannelli - truly talented musician, composer and vocalist - innovative, creative, and always improving. A real passion for music. Terrific all around artist.

  • My favorite all time Gino Vanelli tune off the Pauper In Paradise album. No one writes a song and delivers it like Gino. A true artist and sound craftsman. One of my biggest musical influences.

  • This song made me a certified Gino fan! I forget the Album name but I sure had it. I can remember air drumming in the car.

  • The Album is "Pauper in Paradise". It's one of my favorite GINO LP's or CD. Gino's voice is still to this day beautiful and haunting. He's the most passionate Artists of all time.

  • Gino, 70's shows & 70's cars...brings back memories...

  • Great Post. What Lyrics & Musicianship!!!

  • One of the Best songs of all time. Thanks so much for posting!

  • so darn good it hurts so good, Ilove it

    Dave

  • This guy can sing, and this is one of his best. My personal favorite. Thanks so much for posting.

  • This song is an early Gino masterpeice. The cheesey 70's TV show collage doesn't do the song justice. Listen to the incredibe nuances of this song and ponder the perfection of this audio art form. Gino showed an awesome brilliance 30 years ago !!!!!!!

  • True! Gino was way ahead of his time! Up to this day, creating with a heart full of passion for his music! A great musician and composer! Romantic vision and honesty!

  • I have loved this song since it came out. Thanks for posting this. Gino is still out there doing his thing.

  • Awesome song and pics!

  • Thanks for posting!!!!
