OK she played it flawlessly... but I don't understand why she played it so fast and forced all the orchestra to play along ¬¬ . The original version of this concerto isn't so fast ... She is amazing, but this is not the concerto originally. Sorry
@jhomolos I feel like Sabine Meyer can just do as she pleases... It may be fast when compared with others, but ultimately, her feature=her interpretation. She totally commands a stage when she's on one, and some audiences love that fire. Other players have taken more compassionate and conservative approaches to this piece, and some audiences love that. The best part about art is that you don't have to like it :)
what does it matter if she moves she sounds great!! she could be play this hopping on one foot and i wouldn't care. To me her moving a lot is irrelevant.
@klarinetta It's normal to move to the music, but I agree with you that this is a little too much... I like to "dance" myself while I'm playing. I feel that I'm a part of the music, a part of the sound, and that I can show the audience that I really can this piece :-)
@christinehah My opinion is also like some famous violin player did(I don't remember the name) you can move as long as you have ground connection meaning that your feet should stay in place.
@christinehah And one last thing. Here it also feels like she is trying to get the orchestra to move forward in the tempo just like I saw in one video of her in a rehearsal of the Mozart concerto where she at the end of her solo line (in middle of the 1st movement) she takes out her reed quickly and is obviously not happy with the orchestra not following her in my opinion super fast tempo.
@5oo5LiX Frost is better if the objective is playing everything 50 BPM faster than called for. Frost is great but for different reasons, but speed is not the only measure of skill.
@deutcherfurleben THANK YOU! I love Sabine and Martin, but the thing with Martin is that absolutely everything he plays is lightning fast. Sometimes it's just great to enjoy the moment and slow it down.
LMAO I love how the conductor was getting all worked up at the end. XDDD He was like -LOUDDERR- *Jumps* :3 Although the person playing the clarinet makes a beautiful sound. I just started playing the clarinet 2 weeks ago (:
Love it when the conductor starts jumping!

@christinehah Too much is too much in my opinion but when I really need to close my eyes to be able to enjoy the music it's gone out of control.
