What a great song! It always takes me right back to 1974 and all of the good times of that era. Thankyou Terry and of course "The Hollies". Your version is excellent.
absolutely fantastic---i know this song so well and have seen every tube on it --as it is my fav--and i have been playing over 50 yrs now--its one of the best covers i have seen on this wonderful song---great work
very nice song...a completely beautiful classic... i remenber listen once to an unplugged version of this song, but i cannot find it, ... not sure if it was performed by terry sylvester, Pearl jam, or Neil young, but it was just perfect... well, i hope anyone of you can know some info about it and let me know... Thanks for sharing this amazing song...
Not a hardcore Hollies fan but having trawled through a few versions of this magnificent song, this is my favourite. I know Allan's voice was so piercingly distinctive but in every other version I've heard after their original the harmonies never quite regained the punch of the record...so you have to adapt to what you can do on stage with fewer musicians and no overdubs! That's why I think this a very well judged rendition by Terry. I really like the electric guitarist's parts in this too. A+!
All I see is the great singer he is. This is what I was looking for after seeing his interview. I love all this boys!! Thank you for posting this vid.
Awesome... Terry Sylvester certainly was a centrepiece of the Hollies during his time between 1969-1981. Check out his solo work, too. He´s got his own website and offers a collection of some of his solo material recorded between 1973 and 1981, with which I spent a lot of happy hours in my younger years. Hope he´s enjoying his life in Canada.
Believe it or not, Terry performed with John Ford Coley last night at a local restaurant/comedy club - only 20 minutes from me. However, I did not know about the show until it was too late - it was a real disappointment.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked this video - he did a nice job!
Right on. Terry is a class act. There are still those who regret that Graham left and they're entitled to their opinion, but Terry's voice harmonized so well with Allan (xx)and Tony and he was solid with them for all those years. He deserves credit for keeping the Hollies' harmonic sound alive through thick and thin. Bless you, Terry!
Hi - He was the organizing force behind Griffin, Sylvester and Coley as well - he promoted and organized the three Toronto-area shows, which is where I taped these videos.
Wow....you mean while I'm shovelling snow, THE Terry Sylvester is shovelling too, just down the road?...COOL! Looking forward to the next TO gig...I'll be there for sure!
This song just gets me everytime I hear it. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!I know Allan sings it like no other, but this version by Tezzer is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! Thanks ro rating it and bringing it to my attention. You're a pal.
