...of the show and here is hoping he realizes it is not only in the actors but in strong storytelling. I pray for GH that we get meaty storylines like they did during this time period of the show while still paying homage to the action/adventure stories of the 80's! Most importantly bring back the Q's, the Cas, and less focus on Sonny! I hate that Sonny has become so much of that show. It is unwatchable. I feel the best options are to have him and Anthony locked away together!

Watching this reminds me why I loved this show so much. Oh how I long for those days. GH was the best! I was absolutely in love with LnL2! I had such a crush on JJ! All the stories were amazing. Brenda/Jax/Sonny(Before Sonny became cold and irritating pompous arrogant ass), Ned and Lois, The Q's, The Casidines, Katherine, Laura, and Bobby and Luke. The late 90's were that of pure gold! I hope that the new regime at GH can capture this pure magic. RC has said he likes the history....

so I guess Luke & Sonny were not that close after they thought Lucky died from the fire? I remember after Lucky's death Luke didn't want to speak to Sonny & even Laura blamed him. wow great storylines back in 99 but it sucks now in 2000s!

After all these years, no matter how many times I watch this, no matter knowing what the end result was, I still cry at the end when Liz collapses in Sonny's arms. I so agree that Becky deserved the Emmy.

Wow Bobby's reaction so raw and her primal scream shook me. GH was so incredible back then instead of just bring back  actors they need to bring back the writers. Labines ruled, they new how to develop relationships. Guza sucks.

I... can't.... HANG with these scenes, even over ten years later!! I STILL bawl along with Bobbie, Luke, Taggert (miss him! He was soo cool and a great foil for Sason) Mac, Sonny, Jason, and esp. Liz. Man, BH was sooooo robbed of an emmy with this s/l as well as her rape s/l.. she was soooo amazing and so incredibly real with her grief as Liz. Bravo to the entire cast and esp. BH! When GH ruled the soap world! My, my how the mighty have fallen!

i remember crying when i saw this and when laura finds out, heartbreaking. then when we find out he is kidnapped i was like wtf. i was so pissed when lucky returned and it wasn't jj. lucky didn't return until nov 2009. seriously so sick of soaps replacing characters that are irreplaceable. dude

omg me too....that was actually the main reason i was bawling during this depressing storyline, when i found out JJ was leaving and i thought he was never coming back....to me, it felt like lucky really did "die" in the fire and has been resurrected from the dead 10 years later...im sorry to say this, but the other luckys were imposters to me, it just wasn't the same!!! there are certain characters that you just cant touch and replace the actors with!

i've only been watching GH for the past 6 or 7 years, so this is the first time watching this storyline and it got me thinking.

whenever "tragedy" strikes Port Charles now, nobody really seems to care.

Like when Georgie died, only Maxie, Mac & Robin really seemed to care. I was totally surprised that Sonny lent a hand to Elizabeth who fell apart at the end of this scene...

Becky could make the most cold hearted bastard cry along with her in this scene....she so deserved an Emmy for her performance. The same thing can be said for Genie and Tony in later scenes. As for Maurice, I think he was playing the shocked scenes. I have been around enough death to see that expression on people's faces. It didn't mean they didn't love the one lost, it only meant they didn't know how to handle their emotions. Check out the wiping the eyes at the end..he cared.

What's even more sad about this is that Jonathan Jackson, the original Lucky, NEVER reprised the role of Lucky Spencer! Back in the day I really hoped he would rise from the grave and return to form, but the character never did once JJ left.

Actually Luke and Sonny had been pretty tight for years before this and Sonny had known Lucky for years also. I think Luke and Sonny first hooked up in 1994 or 1995 in an effort to get rid of Frank Smith and the friendship grew from there...up until this, at least.

This was an awsome scene. I remember watching it when it orginially aired and have never forgotten it. Lucky and Liz got me hooked on GH I remember sobbing right along with her when Lucky "died". Liz, Luke, Mac, Bobbi, and even Taggart were awsome in their scenes. The only one I hated was Sonny and his blank face as if nothing happened. No expression, no emotion nothing. I can't believe its been almost 10 years I remember it like it was yesterday.
