Backstrom is so overlooked and under-rated. The best thing about him is that some people think hes almost boring to watch, compared to like Hasek or Brodeur. But thats just because Backstroms form is just sick, he is ALWAYS square to the shjot, and is almost never caughgt in a scramble, and thats what makes him a God among Finns. haha

Im from minnesota and i gotto say as a wild fan backstrom is just an elite goaie. technicaly last season was only his second in the nhl i think that these next few seasons are gonna be great for him. give him another couple seosons of experiance and i think starboy62's wish will come true

he is a very experienced goalie in fact his average save percentage has been .928 for ten years now.. look up the stats in hockeydb and you'll wet yourself.. only one goalie ever has been that consistent and thats hasek with buffalo sabres

no, his main problems are that in gut trap situations he does not hold onto the puck and when making a lateral recovery from his knees, he brings the wrong leg up first, increasing the time needed to move.

also when down, he sometimes reaches instead of doing a lateral adjust and just sliding on his pads, causing himto lose balance and fall backwards
