  • I think sebastian loeb would have a harder time if this guy was still alive

  • nicky grist was out of breath by the end

  • WRC drivers are not that flamboyant anymore : WE NEED ANOTHER COLIN IN THE SPORT !! (but hes unique!)

  • "Arggh!! No!! Too awesome!! Too Much awesome!! I CANT STAND IT!!! AAAAHHH *Combusts*" - The Car.

    Colin's a beast.

  • @ShadeCrenshaw loved it xD

  • THE FINNISH GRAND PRIX!

  • Very nice

  • Magnific driving style, very agressive, what a legend, we miss you Colin RIP.

  • Ken Block is gonna have to put his FOOT DOWN!!! haha this is a great video!

  • Colin FTW!!!

  • Great

  • leyend

  • finland is best!!!! i from finland<3

  • 3 people are clearly fans of BTCC not rally

  • Wow! THis is impposible to drive like this! Loeb have to learn more and more to be like CMR! I can't imagine how risky sport is it!? They drive LIVE not on playstation!!!

  • some say, colins balls are made of pure steel :D

  • Colin is still the most fun to watch even still. Simply amazing.

  • 3:58 "4 left + tightens, MAYBE"!!!??? That sounds scary.. and worrying!

  • the co-driver is just like in CMR '05. so it IS authentic, by these guys themselves. plus, Estonian flag @ 1:53, near the jump, and a bit later in that section too, coz our dude, Märtin, was the king of jumps in Finland:D also, it's so cool, as he goes through somme dudes front yard @ 3:28:D and that finn is just looking at the car like:,,just another sunday morning...''

  • Grist is a freaking master at reading those notes... pure mastery where Colin asks for confirmation, Grist confirms it, and then catches up with the notes at a fast but steady pace before returning back to that rock-solid pacenote reading thing he does. Unbelievable.

  • @slickfast what do the plus and minus instructions mean? also, I don't get, about what he says, ''line''. I get the rest, but I just don't understand these

  • @codenamecordon Jemba Inertia Notes System

  • @vertigoride wth is that supposed to mean?

  • Two dislikes? Sebastian Loeb is that you? :D

  • Damn this is nuts, if I was the co-driver, my butt cheeks would be so tightly clenched together that a piece of coal caught in between would of came out a diamond when the race was over. Love Colin's style, love the track, its like I'm watching poetry in motion.

  • Such good instructions from his partner, clean racing, just Colin all around!

    Skill.

  • epic

  • FABIAWRC!!

VERY AGREEE!!!:D Colin the absolute Legend...

  • thats what i call a perfect run. not cause it was a clean and quick run, but because it was Colin doing a clean run lol

  • WTF Thats fast!

  • Iv'e played so many Mcrae games i could actually be a co - driver! He'll never loose my respect for the moments he has gave me, a true Legend right here. . .

  • Are there enough superlatives to describe the rush of that drive? The camera view is my favourite. Cheers WRC.

  • gee, can I buy a vowel? :D

  • was an unbelievable driver he's very sadly missed. R.I.P

  • he was the best driver ever....so sad

  • FAAAAAST!!!!!!!!

  • nieźle zapierdala, też bym tak chciał :)

  • Great precision by Colin, always cutting it right near the edge of the road, even with those big ditches on the side!

  • c,mon people, we lost a legend, so make some of the comments , about colin!! not about pacenotes!!

  • visit wrc on facebook and click you further to the discussion board and you will find a thread with all the facts about different drivers pace notes!

  • guys I dont believe the co-driver tells the driver HOW to drive the car just, the notes are given to discribe the upcoming road. "Plus" I believe is used to discribe a corner that has a camber which helps the driver, with the low part of the road near the apex of the corner. "Minus" is the opposite, camber falling away from the apex of the corner.

  • Colin uses a describing numberic system to describe the road ahead. He uses the numbers 1-6 were 1 is a very bad corner and 6 i a flat out corner. He adds "plus" and "minus" considering the speed of the corner. As wrx224 says, but it can also mean "feather the throttle" when he adds a minus cause of its a slower corner than a "normal" 4. Please visit my thread in the wrc channel.. choose boxes and Pace notes :D

  • I dont think anyone knows the true meaning because then the other teams could have used it to their advantage.

  • thats perfect driving wot a legend

  • not perfect, godly !!!

  • A Focus WRC

  • I think he's driving a Subaru Inpreza - in heaven...

  • nah probably driving an old group b monster (i think they still have group b in heaven)

  • Comment removed

  • He druved the subaru impreza and this one was his ford focus .... he died in an helicopter accident the last year ...

  • It's been two years ago now. Sept 15th, 2007. RIP.

  • oh true he he he ... im living on the 2008 he he h

  • what means if the Nicky says ''Minus'' ? does anybody know?

  • well the numbers are the desired gear

and i would say minus is in the low end side of the gear and my require a downchange ...plus is likely corner opens highend of gear range and possible fast up shift...correct me if im wrong pplz @ R.I.P Colin

  • thanks :)

  • I'm not sure of this. It's more likely that plus means stepping on the throttle, accelerating through the turn, while minus means take the corner without applying throttle, decelerating. You'd notice that pattern if you watch carefully. Still not 100% sure though, but at least I can't notice any change of road width in relation to this.

  • yeah thats pretty much correct. plus is full throttle and minus means to feather the gas pedal. it has nothing to do with road width though, if a corner is wide the co driver will call "opens" which lets the driver step on the gas earlier when exiting a corner

  • Minus does not mean to "feather the gas peadal" it means a slightly slower corner of the same grade. Plus means a slightly faster corner of the same grade. For example Right 6 (R6) would be the fastest corner while Right 6 minus (R6-) would be a slightly tighter version of that corner. Addin the plus and minus are just a way to add more detail to the actual nature of the upcoming corner. :)

  • thats exactly correct wrx224.... it is also because the pacenotes system he uses is what gear he will use in the corner, so a 6 right is 6th gear R with a + or - as u stated.... a 2 right is 2nd gear right etc... it is a shame he has passed away, what an awesome rally driver and an legend in his on right R.I.P. colin

• heases I am sorry mate I don't agree, I am not sure where you are getting your info. The 1-6 in which colin requests the corners to be described by are in relation to which gear the corner will be taken.

  • Yes that is correct! Colin used his gear of wich he should take the corners. 1 is a very bad and slow corner and 6 is a flat out corner in full speed, and/or when he dont need to break (example after a slow corner followed by a much faster corner). I agree that the formulation in my last message was'nt so good but i meant of course that he uses the system you described :D check out the discussion board on wrcs facebook page!

  • for me Colin's numberic system is the best, simple and very accurate

  • feathering wasnt exactly the right word but minus does mean theres less commitment into a corner and plus is full commitment

  • fantastic drive....LOEB even if he wins 250 times, he wold never become COLIN!!!

  • @FABIAWRC EZ ÍGY VAN loeb phuuuuuj ... soha nem lesz akkora ember és sofőr mint McRae . RIP Colin IXI.

  • uncredible video!

  • its actually normal for a driver to change calls during rallies so that the next time they race that stage, the corrected call is given..

  • Did anyone else notice why Colin yelling 5?

0:55 He corrects Nicky for yelling slight right instead of 5 right. Nicky stutters then corrects it. Compare the Pacenotes of Richard Burns Rally to Colin Mcrae Rally. Slight right, hard right.... K right... too vague. Good job for Nicky.

  • Well,Colin used it sometimes "slight right",but decided to change it...anyway the friendschip between Colin and Nicky was goigng little bit hurt that time

  • how can a friendship like this go sour, you have each others lives in each others hands

  • It began in Germany 2002,when Nicky colculated the time to go into timecontrol just enough and Colin had under pressure twice stalled the engine and they didnt make it in time, earning 10s of penalty time. Afterwards, ath the end of that stage, coli said to Colin(reporter)"You should ask the welsh wizard(he memant Grist)why we got that 10s"

  • Their agony ended in Zealand 02,when Nicky called"2 right dont cut".Colin however missheard it and just when he asked if it was 3 or 2,he forget about "dont cut" and hit a gate on the inside. That put him of the road and retired. At the end of the rally, they have split

  • That's sad.

  • It was,but the importat was, that they were back together at Skoda in 2006 and the way they enjoed Donegal rally 2006 with the Metro 6R4 showed that they still were friends

  • I drive on dirt roads out in the sticks a lot and I practice rally-style driving whenever it's "safe" (in my little Chevy S-10 pickup. HaHa!) I'm pretty happy about taking the turns marked 20MPH at 40 and there is one marked 35MPH that I can drift at 65, but my sphincter still tightens watching these guys do it for extended periods at 90+. Bravo!

  • absolutely baller. rally is the best form of car racing, hands down. fuck nascar.

  • Absolute on the edge driving.

  • The Greatest Driver Ever!!! Amazing drive!!!

  • Wow fantastic. More of this please.

  • Great driving, Colin(RIP) forever!! Great video, thx WRC!

  • Colin was a fantastic driver. I followed his career for years. I will always have tremendous respect for him.

  • NICE video.

  • Hehe, when Nicky Grist says "cut", I always think he says "cat"

  • Amazing! Great stage!!!

  • "We're on fire"

    "OK"

Wow. They talk about it like normal people would say "I dropped my hankie".

  • Nice to see a good in-car of Colin. There are so many greats that i just can't find on the internet. GREAT JOB WRC!!!

These were the great days of rallying.

  • DITTO GOOD JOB ON YOU GUYS

  • Thanks for uploading all these colin mcrae clips!

    amazing man deserves full respect!!

    RIP

  • Thanks for the clip! Some committment from Colin on the tarmac section! Its amazing how quickly these cars can go up in smoke.

I look forward to more with Colin (RIP) and maybe some classic on-boards of Gronholm in the 206?

  • Thanks Endathestig,

Keep checking in on the channel and you just might see some more...

  • Colin McRae was a great driver, but Makinnen was better tahan Colin

  • never
