@MrJer8emy In the begining you see that gumballs are exposed to red, green and blue lights. I beleive that there is a light sensor that sees if the gumball reflects those colors. If it detects light when the gumball is exposed to green light, it means that the gumball reflects green light. If it detects light when the gumball is exposed to green AND red, it means that the gumball is yellow. And if it detects light with all three colors, the gumball is white!

As amazing as this is, and even though I watched the entire video in awe. I can't help but wonder why it's needed. It's very good and I realize I can't do this myself (I don't have the parts).
