Well done! Citizen Science + Video, I love it, man! It 's all laid out for the public to interpret as they see fit, and the "officials" to deny; but this makes it hard for them to do so. Read the First OSAT (Operational Science Advisory Team) report from December 2010. Their conclusions readily acknowledge this tar mat problem nearshore.
By the time the OSAT 2 report came out (Late Feb/Mar), we were already into Spring Break/Tourist season, and this problem was intentionally downplayed. I was informed by BP reps in Gulf/Franklin County that the County Commissions west of here specifically declined to hold informational OSAT 2 meetings because the didn't want to "stir up controversy right before Spring Break".
Does the general public still care? I DO! I would not be surprised if this is far more widespread than we even imagine. Thanks for getting this on video and posting.
