someone pls answer this questions if u have enough info... what is the fastest way to becoming a special operative for canada and where would i start?
I want to join the infrantry but im overweight, so my goal is to get in shape by the time I get out of high school, (2013), and join as a full timer infanteer

I was in the PPCLI from 98-01 and would I do it all over again ... no I wouldn't! It was a challenge, but I felt it would be much easier going to university and getting a decent job with a lot better pay. The military is a much different life than it appears in the movies boys and girls! Most people I knew went in the infantry because they wanted a career in the RCMP and didn't have the academic qualifications to do so. Others joined because they just wanted to leave their hometowns! I was sick of school and wanted to serve my country more than anything! After joining, I realized it was a completely different way of life than I ever thought! I started to think of myself and asked "Can I really spend another 20+ years in the infantry?" I guess after 3 years, the dream was over!

@gamerbot101 the military wont want a dumbass in the field. its not about being just physically tough its also about being mentally tough and intelligent so that you can think in the field under stressfull situations. so i would suggest you try and get good marks and complete highschool before you pursue a military career.
@BaconTV123 you have to do them all, you have to master them incase either the driver.gunner/commander is unable to do their job, you may have to take over and you would need to know how to handle the situation you were placed
@finalfantasy8VIII Join Next year :), you are allowed to go at 16 for 9 weeks soldier trainning. ANd if you wanna be a Infantry soldier take the extra trainning. Btw you got the choice to go on in afghan or not before 18, but your parents got to sign a document, just to let you know

However, there are far to many people that join the infantry and then when a fight comes along they just don't feel like doing their duty any more. these people are deserters and until recently it was a crime punishable by death. being an infantry soldier takes hard work but its worth every bit. A litte advice for people joining the CF, do not accept an offer for an officer ( whether it be military police, infantry, armour, artillery, ect.) unless you know you can handle whats coming( seriously, officers get BaShed hard).

@BaconTV123 you have to do them all, you have to master them incase either the driver.gunner/commander is unable to do their job, you may have to take over and you would need to know how to handle the situation you were placed

@haaaaaaaaaand For the most part , they are not accepting Reg Force Infantry but they are accepting Primary Reserve Infantry .
I also had originally applied for Reg Force , now im Reserve

@finalfantasy8VIII Join Next year :), you are allowed to go at 16 for 9 weeks soldier trainning. ANd if you wanna be a Infantry soldier take the extra trainning. Btw you got the choice to go on in afghan or not before 18, but your parents got to sign a document, just to let you know

@Freepepsi42 dude, that's a sad way to look at it man. if a person's unable to accept combat as part of their job they have no buisness being in the military, and ESPECIALLY not the infantry. it's what we do. sure, humanitarian aid is great and all but the role of the infantry will always first and foremost be to "Close with and Destroy the enemy" don't like it? stay out of it cause we don't want you if your afraid of a fight

@Freepepsi42 well everyone does get the pre-combat jitters like you said. However, there are far to many people that join the infantry and then when a fight comes along they just don't feel like doing their duty any more. these people are deserters and until recently it was a crime punishable by death. The military and again, especially the infantry is not a free ride. I strongly suggest to anyone who thinks it is go elsewere. However If you can accept your duty then by all means welcome aboard

@Freepepsi42 even if that were true 65 years is hardly anything when you consider how long war and organised militaries have been around for.Military prison aint a joke and to be court martialed practically scews you for life, not being able to get a bondable job or any of that and all. and I'm not just saying this, but I'd rather die then leave my boys to go fight, without me there to be next to them when it hit's the fan. but that's just me loyalty isn't realy a common trait amongst deserters

being an infantry soldier takes hard work but its worth every bit. A litte advice for people joining the CF, do not accept an offer for an officer ( whether it be military police, infantry, armour, artillery, ect.) unless you know you can handle whats coming( seriously, officers get BaShed hard).
