  • Freddie, represented very well...

  • This is simply beautiful!!!

  • 40 million? - Off.

  • @jaquemate2002 Nah, I aint crazy. GM did a great job.

  • not even close to the orginal. NO ONE can get up to the Freddie standard

  • @ravendefull GM was a better live performer than Freddie.

  • brian is simply amazing

  • When it is known they can't do any better it is better to shut it. Regret watching this...

  • @sachidanandaurs And...in a way I regret that someone who claims to be a Freddie & Queen fan(saw your profile)is giving a totally irrelevant comment like this! George and Lisa's only intention was to pay tribute to their "Idol" aswell. If the other Queen band members seemed to appreciate itt very much why fgs can't you? I'm sure Freddie was watching approvingly from up above :-). Anyway, I'm sure it sincerely came from both their hearts and that's the main thing here and very meaningful too.

  • @sachidanandaurs GM is better live than Freddie.

  • dont understand why some people always come up with comments like this is not as good as freddie's. everyone knows tht. nobody is trying to be freedie except ur silly assumptions. george michael's performace during that concert was undoubtfully one of the best and he certainly he cud have done better than paul rodgers.

  • @dewy200884 I bet Freddie could not sing George Michael songs. Even Brain was blown away by GM version of somebosy to love.

  • Mein ganzes Leben habe ich darauf gewartet das G.M. sich outet.

Danke das er es getan hat. Nach 35 Jahren, genau so wie : Freddy, und ganz neu , und so überaschend Ricky.Super Danke !!!

Endlich und leider zu spät für mich.Wer nicht merkenwill, wirds auch nicht rip

  • Blödsinn !!

  • George Michael is a great singer and I Iove listening to him but there is only one Freddy. Rest in peace Freddy .We will always remember you.Thank you for posting this song.

  • im wondering how long it will take before the lewd act man gets aids to hes as gay as freddy ever was a terribble waste of life freddy was luv him!!!!1he will always be !!!!!!

  • Lisa Stansfield spoils this performance for me. Her vocals sound incredibly insincere and i don't think she was a fan of neither Fredddie nor Queen. The singer, Sam Brown would have been a much better choice. I'm quite surprised she wasn't at least chosen as a backing singer for this concert. She would have been amazing no doubt about it.

  • I do not think George Michael was trying to be like Freddy on this tune, he was just singing a tribute to his friend.

George Michael and Lisa Stansfield are just other very different great artists

  • Freddie, I wish you all the best in the sky! You made me wonder, you made me happy! I started to dream with you and now with my band I want to go on... with the show!!! You are the greatest!!!!

  • This is rubbish compared to Mercury.

I think only Freddie can pull this song off perfectly.

  • roger tyalor and brian are still going after freddy is gone .

queen new singer is not the same

  • Brian's solo is the best part of the song

  • I have no problem with gays; but Freddie was gay... "I"m as gay as a daffodil, dear" being one of his famous quotes...

  • george was the best that evening!

  • She's SO cute!

  • george michael es el mejor cantante del mundo y los demas no le igualaran nunca

  • George Michael against Freddie is no singer! This performance is just pity.

  • @TheBrotherKanker you're exaggerating

  • Brian May's guitar work is flawless.....as always.

  • i still love you freddie.

    it's a wonderful duett.

  • RIP Freddie....gosh, music isnt the same with out you.......

This performance.. I think is outstanding, George...can kill it LIVE (and who eles can pull off a tangerine jacket and look hot?) Lisa...I could take or leave.

    They did Freddie Justice.

  • I apologize for the comment I made last week. The truth is they are right, everyone! I watched the tribute to Mercury and it was spectacular. I want to know to apologize for what I said.

  • this song is gonna be at my funeral

  • The best version of These Are the Days Of Our Lives is the one sung by Freddie Mercury. I do not think this song did not sing well

  • @Riverortega

This was freddies tribute....i dont think anyone that night sung queens songs as well as freddie....but these two did alright :-)

  • Riverortega --- You are being DISrespectful to your hero. I am sure Freddie Mercury looks down at you from somewhere and thinks: HE is NOT a REAL fan. Doesn´t he understand that this performance is a tribute to by Greatness.

    SHAME on YOU

  • I think they do a good job on beautiful lyrics, and listen to that guitar solo.... i love it and so would freddie....anytime I listen to this I will still think of the wonderful gift he had and how much he has given to us..and thanks to all who have shared his gifts with us on youtube..

  • Freddie was an extremely gifted artist! That is so plain to see!.. I've done my personal tribute with this song, please check it out on myspace..a link to MySpace is in my Youtube profile.

  • I have yet to listen to this without tears welling up...PEACE.

  • come on guys,Freddie sang this song about 100 times better when he was dead sick

  • You sound pretty angry.....lol.

  • yess a ittle lol

  • @dotpaint22 fuck off......idiot, its a tribute, think Freddie wld appreciate it!

  • This isn't as good but search George Michael somebody to love thats amazing his voice is great in it.

  • Totally agree with you:-)

  • @jahaines579 Remember GM sang this live so we can't expect it to be as good as the original on CD

  • Not being the original it was going to suck but having George sing it just killed it. What a load of rubish, they should keep george to ruining his own songs lol

  • yeah, like he is the original singer, he sucks!! only freddie or someone else with a natural voice should sing it!

  • Acerio12

George sang this live. I would like to see Freddie sing a George Michael song live

  • Freddie sung this song when he could barely walk & talk.

Freddies body had accelerated aging because of Aids.

He had multiple throat infections, his finger & toenails where always raw with puss coming out, his gums where rotting, hair was falling out.

He weighed 4-5 stone if that before he died.

SO SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT Freddie !!!

    YOU TOSSER!

  • Peace :)

  • he is without a doubt the best singer in the world

i truly wish he was here today. his voice is like nothing we will ever hear again

  • I think George Michael is better live. But I believe Freddy had a better voice. Just my opinion

  • Caller89

You obviously have issues. I saw a program where Brian May basically said that Freddy would have been impressed by the performance.

Freddy had a great voice but George Michael is just a genius when he sings live.

    Sorry if that upsets you

  • what garbage......

  • nothing is better than the original but george sings damn good!

  • word.

  • What in the h*** is this.

Compare to freddie this to sucks.

  • i think most people are sticks-in-mud and refuse to believe anything out the original version. move on guys~

  • Freddie was an original. The same does not apply to Gerorge and Lisa, but it's still a good version.

  • Freddie Mercury version is a million light years ahead of these two.

  • this was probably the first time they performed this song

    publicly

  • John looks so sad the whole song... and also roger at 1:24

  • excellent performance

  • it's still beautiful, but is not even close to the effect of the original. George puts to much generic sounding emotion in it, that the song loses the effect it had.

  • Generic my ass!

George Michael has one of the most naturally passionate voices to ever be recorded.

He's probably the most undderrated vocalist of his generation due to his Pop image.

Brian May and the other members of Queen commented after this Freddie Tribute that George was the one that did Freddie the most justice on this and Somebody to Love!

  • una de las mejores canciones de queen, gracias freddy por todas estas hermosas canciones que nos dejastes, sin duda fuiste el mejor

  • oi, the difrence

  • Wonderful..still get teary eyed to this day!

  • you bet

  • 3: 20 the guitar is crying

  • not only the guitar....are you look the face of Roger Taylor?

  • i keep wonderign how the members of queen can even concentrate id be in bits

  • Freddie Mercury forever in our hearts.

  • I wish these two sang together more. And Lisa to me has the most beautiful smile of anyone and George is one of the most sexiest boys on the earth but he just can't drive.....lol...I love him anyways,

  • I will never forget you, Barnesy.

    Love,

    L.

  • They are soooo good together. I also loved Lisa with Barry White.

  • im hooked on the solo in this song, its just so fucking beautifully awesome, this live version is pretty badass too

  • Nice duet. I thought they did a wonderful rendition.

  • This is realy realy good...

it is not easy to sing like freddie :)

  • you can clearly see that even when Freddie was so ill singing this song, his vocal talents where still out of range than everyone elses

  • omg yes! I just watched that video again.. and I was so amazed by his shear talent overriding all his pain and illness. thanks for mentioning this!

  • besides me

  • @juene1 yes thats true so many singers jus cannot do a freddie

  • wonderfull version i jus knew they were gunna release this prob best version done after freddie

  • Not bad. Freddie's songs are really hard to repeat.

  • Beautiful guitar....George Michael sounds great...somehow Lisa Stansfield does not sound as plugged into the song (just as she was in the rehersal clip).

  • what does george say at the beginning?

  • no hover, no ???

lisa sings "I want to break free" earlier on the evening and there she has a hover like freddie in the video.

  • no curls

  • two of the artists i love the most....

    love the song ...

    God bless the Queen!

    Rip Freddy.. always missed

  • As a live performance George rocks, Freddy bites the dust!

  • i just listened to the both...Freddy rocks this song ...george bites the dust !!! Rock on FREDDY where ever you are!!

  • At least GM has been careful enough not to get aids.

  • the song had much of an R&B feel, and George Michael's style was pretty close to R&B

  • GodsSoldier1077

I would like to see George Michael as ill as Freddie singing this song

  • Great rendition! Listen to that guitar wail. The drums! George, love your voice. Well spoken.

  • Sad to see that he died after these songs, would've loved to see Brian play this solo live a lot, one of the best guitar solos ever.

  • its so amazing, how all other "great artists" here at the tribute, all their attempts to sing freddie's song go horrible because no one can match his singing power

i wanna see someone try and sing Spread Your Wings

  • sorry for posting twice, didnt seem like first one went through

May freddie live on forever in our hearts.

  • You are so right! I like the tribute concert very much, but it's an absolute true what you're saying. I'd like to see someone try "Death On Two Legs" to sing it the way Freddie did, but, when I think about that, I understand it's impossible. :)

  • I think they are both incredible singers.

  • i love the part when he repeat "ain't that a shame" at 1:47 and the part when she says "better sit back and go with the flown" when she changes in the best possible way the tune

  • Great vid.

  • This is such a beautiful song, but maybe not the best interpreters for this Tribute. They're both great on their own, but I'm not really feeling their performances in this song. Nonetheless the song continues to be incredibly powerful.

  • they overacted..

  • ahh the power of music. I must have been 4 or 5 yrs old when I first heard this song . Haven't heard it since then and suddenly today by luck or whatever I clicked on this by mistake and i realise that I even remembered some of the words. <3

  • Excelent job by the musicians of course.

seriously tho. its like the purpusly god shitty vocalists in fear that some people may think they did a better job than freddie - WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE -_-

  • kay this sucked - that was actually the worst performance of this song i've ever seen by the vocalists. that was absolutly dreadful. its stupid to be soulful and powerful. theese two nubs are too concerned about making their voices sound "pretty" and their hearts. "aint that a shame.. Aiiint that a shameeeee" WTF WAS THAT omfg. horrible.

  • STOP MOVING SO MUCH omfg

  • Aaah, those were the days............

  • Beautiful performance! I love this song :°°

  • The Queen without Freddie... . :(

  • Great song!! great performance... is this concert was in 1991?

  • 1992

  • METALLICA-DEF LEPPARD; GUNS N ROSES were there! so that makes it the best concert ever ! remember i saw this one Live on TV!

  • What a class-act of an elegant singer Lisa is!

Please get in the studio so we can hear more of you!

  • nice triute concert, george michael perfectly performs this song

  • george michael has a grat voice

  • Grat performence.

    Really great cover!!

    Absolutely fantastic.

  • i love lisa stansfield just a fantastic singer

  • i remember watching this live on tv! and was crying evrytime he was on stage! i haven't see this performence since! hes so flawless! his voice hasn't change! george you are the best! thank you so much for posting this!george is simply the best!

  • wow that was amazing, never heard it b4, their voices go so well 2gether, simply beautiful!! god bless all those who have lost someone to aids or who suffer with it!! may they find a cure NOW!!!

  • I remember watching that concert live. I was 15 years old and remember I broke some test in my school next day. But never regret that. It was one of the greatest concerts ever. R.I.P Freddie.

  • what a great harmony, what a moving song...! I always got very emotional when listening to this. This was also the case during the PR + Queen tour in 2005. By the way great solo Brian!

  • This is a very good cover of one of the most moving songs Queen ever did.

  • Simply amazing cover! George Michael & Lisa Stansfield did an amazing rendition of one of my favorite songs of all time. I usually get teared-up when hearing this song and this performance was no exception. Brilliant.

  • Great cover

  • no one can replace Freddie, true same like NO ONE CAN REPLACE GEORGE ;)

  • Two classy performers, a classy backing combo and it's as good as it gets.

  • i agree with salmacis81 freddie was a one-of-a-kind guy but georgie michael does an astonishing job..God Bless Freddie =]

  • Love it! I think that Freddie would have loved it too. It showcases both Georges' and Lisa' natural talents.

  • Truman Capote once said, "There has never been anybody like me and when I'm gone there will never be another."

Freddie Mercury was the epitome of that statement. But I like to believe that he was looking down on George and Lisa and he was smiling.

  • The note that Lisa Stansfield hits at 4.00 sends shivers down my spine. I didn't even really care for this song but this version has made me really like it.

  • Lisa Stanfield has a beautiful voice, but usually the songs she sings are usually boring. This song, however really shows her talent. A great song! Freddy Murcury would be proud!

  • We know Freddie has no replacement but George is the best option.

  • OH WHAT A WONDERFUL COMMENT!!!!!!!!!

    thank you

RIP Freddy - we will always love you!

    MERRY XMAS TO ALL!

  • There is NO! replacement for Freddie!!! He was the one and only. Rest in Peace Freddie and Queen

  • George Michael all the way!!

  • George Michael is the perfect replacement for Freddie..he should have joined Queen instead of Pual Rodgers..but i heard he turned down their offer..

  • id turn down the offer as well if i was him i respect george for that more than i wouldnt have if he did.

  • George Michael is the VOICE...

  • I Love George Michael....

  • Great vid.

    TY and respect.

  • Nagyon tetszik :-)

  • Big Freddie e thank you George

  • WTF STFU

  • he's talking about "Innuendo", Robert Plant made them remove it from the DVD release of this show because his voice was in very poor condition and he could not remember the words and consequently could not sing the song correctly at the time. The DVD release sucks I hear, because a lot of the show is left out.

  • ohhh my geez

  • Forget all the Freddie vs GM, I still miss Freddie :'( RIP Fredie

  • Freddie*

  • doesnt do the brilliance of the song justice

  • I love this song

  • Live long Freddie! Happy Birthday :)

  • people can do many tributes to queen as many can do their versions of gratest hits but it really dont counts on it.

freddie you were the most close to an angel on the stage and i respect you, god bless you

  • george michaels vocal range and strength and power of his voice and lyrics are nothing compared to freddies vocal range

    love you freddie

    you are such an idol

you didn't deserve to die so young

music is so boring without you and you beautiful lyrics

    freya xxxx

    R.I.P

  • wasn't this written when he was dying...when did he do a live version (Freddie i mean)

  • I disagree. GM certainly has an excellent voice but he just flat out ignored some of the higher notes in that performance. He doesn't have anywhere near the range that Freddie was capable of.

  • Well all I can say to that is that you must have problems with your hearing. Either that or you have bad taste.
