@jackanthem90 .....some are tired...some are drunk...some are mesmerized...some dont really care....but all them have fun...all they know is Gary's shining....on stage...all they know is Garys singing... so great ...he's all they know....
@xestijesthruc So hostile. Even I read them and thought you meant it like arandompirate thought. Learn how to communicate your thoughts clearly before you start flipping out on people, faggot.
@EarwigEarl well maybe you should CLEAR your thoughts; because I stated exactly what i meant, its not complicated.. - though its funny u use the word "faggot"; u CLEARLY have somthin on your mind.. causing u confusion ... what agression u have....? ; )
@EarwigEarl Im sorry, I have a life to get back to. there are more important things.. I'm sure u understand.. I have to get back to my sentance practice lol.
@arandompirate dont you ever make a stupid assumption about what someone wrote when its right before your fucking eyes and then insult the person.. degenerate.. if your confused then ask if you actually give a shit.
@metalzone2000 He is an extraordinary man!!! Wall to wall Gary music wherever I go 24/7 for the rest of my life...How great would that be?!!! He has a serious problem with underrating himself and his own musical talent and contribution to the world of sound...he probably thinks that all us his fans are...nuts! He doesnt see how GREAT he is! A genius never does because for someone like him- that level he functions from is just normal to him!
Personally I think this sounds far better than the 79 version, but then, Gary sounds more relevant now than he ever did, and by tweaking his sound, he has managed to surpass most of today's contemporaries who were inspired by him originally (Reznor, Manson, Frontline Assembly, etc...)
Dont knock him for being "current" with his sound. as the man himself says, you cant live in the past when there's so much for him left to do musically
►Music so personal & unusual naturally evokes strong feelings.
►I like this reworking of Metal but it's not "better" than the original. It's unrelenting mechanical rhythm evokes industrial robots whilst its slowly accumulating synth chords create a magnificent soundscape.
►Contemporary dreams of machines achieving consciousness inspire the dark & mysterious grandeur of this version.
►2 different visions, 2 different pieces of music; both essential listening.
CHRISGN1....sorry. Don't like this performance very much. It sounds like the rest of today's pop rock garbage when they change the time signature at 2:38. In my opinion, this song is best left like it was...an awesome new wave song.
There's a MUCH better live performance of "Metal" from 1979 here on youtube. They play it in the original time signature & it's way better.
I saw Gary numan when he returned to the USA from being away since 1983. I had seen some of the coolest sounding & looking 80's concerts including Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Ministry, Revco, Depeche, Siouxie, Smiths, PTV, and even megabuck events like Pink Floyd's 1st reforming, U2, and Metallica. The two Numan concerts I saw blew them ALL away!
Danke, vollkommen wunderbar
