  • poor brave darling. she's lovely. I saw a documentary about elephants that featured a mature female elephant whose rear leg had been broken by another charging elephant...same thing, the leg healed, if disfigured, but she survived and lived a long life.

  • that is a cool video.quite interesting to see the same moose 2 years latter, with a calf too.she is doing allright.

  • Moose don't drink enough milk!

  • i would love to look outside my window and see a moose. and calf for that matter

dont see many moose in the UK =P

    <3

  • What an awesome follow-up.

  • wow what a place to live ....awsome

  • needs to be sedated to fix the leg ... She probably has arthritis in that leg right now .

  • i think its still broken....

  • Excellent video man. These kinds of things really put my mind at ease when I start to think about the safety of animals in a human-run world.

  • and she still got broken leg

  • @ niclassj Why put her down, she has lived with this injury for 3 or more years and its obviously healed cos shes putting weight on it so therefore aint causing her pain. No point killing a healthy animal espec one with a calf!

  • One strong animal !

  • Poor moose, someone should put her down in mercy. :(

  • too late, she is a mother now

  • it's survived for three years , managed to have a calf & care for the calf, I think she'll be okay (:

  • film threw your home window : DDD

  • amazing

  • Commented on your other video then noticed this one. I'm not surprised at all. As I said on other video, there's a mule deer doe with a badly broken leg (healed) living in my town that has two years running had a baby.

Just for the record, that calf isn't likely to be 1.5 yr's old. That looks like one born this past spring. At 1+ yr's, they tend to go out on their own.

  • @CptnBlues

Thats interesting about the mule deer. Unlike most other ungulates, Moose typically look after their young for two years before going into estrus again. I'm pretty sure her calf wasn't a yearling.

  • or maybe she's just lazy and let's her leg bend like that

  • well maybe she's juust bowl legged born like that her mamma drank with her had a couple hit's of crack who know's but if it was a car there would be way more damage then that

  • not necssicarilly.... a small car wont do much to a full grown moose.... ive got an email where it shows a little car that hit a moose.. and the cars roof was tore off and the guy was killed but the moose walked off!!!! cuz there was no dead moose and barely ay blood!!! also a semi with a steel bush bar( my truck) wont kill a moose either but will deff do more damage!!!!

  • @skitllesman98

Most of the cars on the road near where I live in Alaska are trucks, full size vehicles or SUVs. Dozens, if not hundreds, of moose are hit and killed each year on the roads in Alaska. And, less often, people are killed in the crashes too.

  • well she made it

  • It may not be her calf as well... Female moose will take care other calf's if the mother is no longer with them or has been killed..

  • Wonder if that has been a broken leg. My guess would be a badly torn knee in some way so tendens had snapped and healed wrong if at all at one side.

A moose weigh a hell of a lot and with a broken leg it would be totally destroyd as soon a it would put only a slight ammount of weigh on it not talking about the pain. And the internal and/or external bleading could kill it as well and predators would have quite soon got it since it couldnt moove or stand up if leigh down. Good to se its ok!

  • shes lucky, usually they die.

  • All the other bull mooses (mise?:-) were probably laughing down the moose pub afterwards. "Ha ha! You did HER yesterday!! No one has done her for THREE YEARS!"

    Mvh Elgjeger

  • Wow, thats amazing.

  • aww i think it likes your place lol

  • moose like that gets killed rigth away her ein norway.

  • Its amazing she is doing so well coz in the wild, others pick on weaker animals with health or other problems.

  • that looks like a strong healthy calf! Thanks for posting! ...so here is living proof that she belongs here and that her abilities far outweigh percieved disabilities.

  • good thing its ok and its funny that you said probaly hit by a car in both videos the same way

  • That is one chilled out moose.

    And cameraman.

    Where do you live bud?

  • Looks like he lives in Alaska - but of course HE was chilled out, he was inside! haha

  • Wow, I wonder how she supported the weight of the sire.

  • the sex must have just been that good!
