One thing to note is that I'm positive J.K. Rowling would not have stood for someone else continuing her story through movies. Obviously. The entire world could have decided to make another harry potter movie and she still wouldn't allow it.

@Toastrecon1 But you are forgetting Jo Rowling sold the rights to Warner Brothers, so if they would have wanted, they could have done more movies, even if there were not more books. I think that's what he means. :)

It also mentions that she sold the rights for the first two movies. Individually. I assume that means that since she hands over rights on a movie-by-movie basis, they would not have the blanket right to produce additional movies under the name.
