This is one of the greatest movies ever made and Nicholas Cage gives one of the greatest performances in the history of cinema. He has always been my favorite actor and this is his masterpiece. He is superb in Raising Arizona, Lord of War, The Weather Man, and incredible in Adaptation. as well but he is unbeatable in this film.
In 17 years I have looked at the cinemas Mr. nick cage. NEVER has been undertaken a role like this. Ben is the best leading role he has done throughout his career NICOLAS CAGE (well capitalized at the end) It's the best he has done ..... He always has to be Ben.
I love this song, I love this movie "leaving las vegas", I love the music.....
And if I could choose my death. I would love to die as Ben, the protagonist of this film ..... LOVE, LOST and alcoholic .... a death worthy of POET.
@gr8fullydeadic8ed "The cling-clang king of the ring-rang room" That saying just makes me happy on so many levels. It feels good to say. I might steal it.
@olivialover75 hello you ignorant balloon, you seem to need a dictionary & maybe attend a race relations course,im not sure what you are trying to tell me through words,so maybe draw a picture ,bub eye.
funny how this movie speak so vividly to us, alcoholics. A normal person would be affraid of the dangers of acohol. Me, on the other hand, felt inspired and strarted drinking a whole lot more, because we know "this is it"
That thing he does with his hands at 1:02 , ever since i saw this movie, i do that when im having a good time listening to a good song, i don't know why.....
I am totally contemplating this total situation. I have seen the movie and I know people that live in Vegas. What do you think? BTW, Leaving Las Vegas is my favorite. I would watch it anyday. Or maybe I'm drunk? :P Give me a break. I'm a total real life Ben.
After much contemplation, I have concluded that the producers of the Leaving Las Vegas soundtrack did not include this song as an audacious attempt to show the world how an individual severely inflicted with a destructive addiction such as alcoholism (i.e. Ben Sanderson from the film) might compile a soundtrack. Brilliant!!!
I was SO annoyed when I bought the soundtrack & this wasn't on it. Michael McDonald is the best nonblack R&B singer ever, IMO! Thank you! I have this on The New York R&B review cd, but the sound quality uploaded here for that is not up to this standard.
best use of music for whats happening on the screen in movie history
