But that's my opinion, if others don't like this then I wouldn't argue over it, everyone has different tastes. I do agree that Japan has a better mainstream scene than USA though (for the most part, if you ignore the corny pop and stuff), but that's only because I love rock. difference between a follower and a real fan is simple a follower dislikes other bands becuz it threatens their chosen band while a real fan loves their work and other bands who create such music. A follower is someone who loves all the bands work and finds no wrong and real fan doesn't but understands. Dir en Grey has been around since 1997 (13 years) While Deathgaze has only been around since 2003 (Technically 2004, and that's 6 years all the same) So you can't compare a band to another band that has 1. been here longer, 2. is better known and 3. Has a bigger fan base. It's just not fair.
Also, Deathgaze and Diru might be part of the same kind of music style, but that doesn't make them the same, and therefore can't be contrasted. But both of them are good.
Come on, I am a hardcore diru fan myself, but stop comparing other professional bands with Deathgaze. They are still new and have lots of potential to be better and make a new difference in jrock.
Lets give everyone an equal chance. I bet no Diru fans like to hear diru being compared to X japan either right.

DEATHGAZE is Alternative Metal and Dir en grey doesn't even have a genre.
Dir en grey has been around longer, and have a more experienced singer that has been with them throughout the entire time. DEATHGAZE is now getting on the right track now that Ai has taken over vocals.
Dir en grey is my favorite band, but I do like DEATHGAZE you just can't compare them.

Some bands like Deathgaze, have these songs to showcase their musical talents and such. Its nothing strange at all about that, Slipknot did heavy and light stuff. KSE did the same. I actually don't care what Deathgaze does, as long as it still represents who they are to us, the fans.

@AuroraMx You can't even compare Dir en grey to DEATHGAZE.
DEATHGAZE is Alternative Metal and Dir en grey doesn't even have a genre.
Dir en grey has been around longer, and have a more experienced singer that has been with them throughout the entire time. DEATHGAZE is now getting on the right track now that Ai has taken over vocals.
Dir en grey is my favorite band, but I do like DEATHGAZE you just can't compare them.

Ai wrote most of the songs since 2004, sometimes he is so aggresive or sometimes he is very sad.... now "sorrow" is so sad.Maybee later deathgaze may write and play another aggresive song ;D.
