season 6 WAS unfortunately the worst. the villain's character wasnt interesting at all. bipolar? yeah, not too raped in other trillion movies, whatever happened to originality. Near death scenes? too many, too unrealistic. and yes gonna say Deb and Dexter? please dont! didnt like the whole religion theme at all either. too many scenes didnt make any sense at all! was extremely disappointing.
@drawingsbykirstin that would pretty much be my point. Besides even if the writes changed in season 5 (which is mostly why so many people are hating on that season) the cast is still the same and they have that Dexter-ish thing to it that you cant but love! :D
Don't understand why people are hating this Season so much, It wasn't that bad !!! One of the most important things in a Dexter Season is/are the big main villian(s). Jordan Chase and his group were pretty sick and evil. Travis Marshall was kindof cool, but a lil bit n00b (Not Colin Hanks as actor but his role) it didn't give me a feeling like 'omg watch out for that serial killer'. Trinity was also great.
I was seriously pissed when Rita died, especially by the hands of that sicko. Why couldn't they have made her live? :/ Gah i don't even know if i wanna keep watching season 5 or the rest for that matter.
I find nothing wrong with what Dexter normally does, because in my country serial killers(who kill innocent) and rapists are killed. It's only in cowardly countries like America where they are either put in prison or set free after some years.
Exciting! Yet, I'm still trying to recover from crying out loud at the season 4 finale. I had a hunch, but I think my heart totally stopped for a second. Lord almighty....
@Thecrazyhide "he's not a monster, he's a psychopath--" no amount of explanation after those words could make them seem any more reasonable or logical. Even if he is a vigilante, he's still a SERIAL KILLER! So he doesn't kill innocent people (intentionally). It's like a polititian saying he's a reasonable and honest man, then dropping bombs on another country to take over it's resources. It's all politics
@Thecrazyhide i'm surprised you had the energy to fish thru all these comments to reply to some remark i made 11 months prior TO SOMEONE ELSE, calling dexter a monster. Cuz, y'know, it's not like he calls himself that (over 4 seasons i can think of at least 3 times he either called himself a monster or had a nervous breakdown over his actions). And he WAS a whiny bitch in those flashbacks, too. That's just who he was
Before I started with watching the series I saw a commercial for season 5 and saw his son sitting in blood. At the end of season 4 I thought it actually was himself as a small child cause I couldn't remember properly......
When I saw Rita dead I was fucking shocked as hell!!!!
hello everyone, i'm starting up a blog and Dexter is my first post. I wanted to stir the pot. so go to my page if you're a Dexter fan! lazyblogger.over-blog (.com)
@kornfan16 Also, and sorry for spam on a 10 month old comment but I still feel it's worth to mention.
She may have actually been a perfect character. I know she kissed Elliot but she had the will to fix the problem (and it was more or less Dexter being the worse in "solving" it at that point).
If people were perfect, the only growth would be through absolute knowledge, but through 8 years of philosophical and moral growth I am still becoming a better person - and this show even betters me.
@kornfan16 Whiny ungrateful bitch? What show have you been watching?
But seriously. The episodes before the finally - hell, even during the finale she was so supportive, and through all of Dexters flaws she persevered. She is by far one of the most amazing characters there was on a TV show, and furthermore if she were a person she would meet the criteria of "perfect".
Nearly.
But to quote Season 3, she didn't suffer from the "tragedy of perfection".

@nikolanitola I think it's Season 5, it's not from Season's 1-4 though. Before you spoil it for people (like me), I would suggest you look for it on Wikipedia. To make my point, quoted from Wikipedia:
"Lumen Ann Pierce is a fictional character portrayed by Julia Stiles in the fifth season of the Showtime television series Dexter."
That is the FIRST line on her page. Hope this helps you :)
If I am being honest, a trait I typically like to have, I was so hoping Rita's death was just a dream. Dexter 5 was okay, I guess, but I miss sweet Rita and not just because she was a fox.
@CHAMPIONES09 He's a good character. He's quite all rounded but if I was being picky I could say the same for every character on the series - or any series. The funny thing is I only find 2 exceptions to this - Rita, and Daniel Jackson (from Stargate and the series that followed).
@Flixxa1 I take it you haven't seen Dexter? If so, start from Season 1 - what I'm going to tell you is a massive spoiler so if you plan on watching Dexter to ANY extent, don't read further please.
The woman in the bathtub was his wife, Rita, whom he knew prior to season 1. She was killed by the main antagonist of Season 4, the "Trinity Killer" (Arthur Mitchell), before he died by Dexters hand. Dexter came home and found his and Ritas son in a pool of Ritas blood, with her dead. Shocking. :<
i have seen this trailer/teaser for this season premier on some tv channel with this awesome soundtrack and its not like soundtrack in the promo... i really cant find this song, but if it helps its on a swedish channel TV6 with season premier on sunday!
netflix doesnt have season 5 yet, anyone know how to get it for free online? i tried and only got a tv 14 version, which means they cut stuff out......
@JamesFesmire No, man.. Rita shouldn't have died. It was so strange watching her in the bathtub filled with her blood. I was hoping Dexter was dreaming or hallucinating, like with his dad.
@Burgerphile I think it was a bold step the developers made when having Rita die. The best thing about Dexter, or any good TV series is that things don't go your way - this was pretty mindnumbing and very saddening for a lot of fans - including me. When I saw the scene I was baffled, even though I saw it coming (as in I accidentally read up on it, because I'm an idiot).
Rita was an exceptional character, and half the crap she dealt with wasn't deserved. Bad things make good people, sadly.
@Aganiel I've dwelled on this a lot and if I had the will to, I would've cried as well - I try not thinking too much about Ritas death in such depth, since it is numbing to the spine in every sense. Rita was an exceptional character, and I felt she wasn't fully revealed even when she died - Dexter didn't seem as thankful as he easily could've been, or as straight-headed in terms of how flawed he was in Season 4, but she persisted.
That, and the scene with the two in the bedroom was exceptional.
@Im2CorruptForYa Oh. Well, I figured that he killed one of the more important characters of the series like... Quinn? I didn't think he would actually find displeasure in killing this time, especially on a random stranger. Unless... that is the issue? Killing only to survive, rather than just killing other killers?
@Jigsaw6677 I think there was sufficient time - well, it happened, but I bought the idea. He went to Debra Morgans house first, found Dexters, killed Rita (sadly) and then went to the car which he put in before all of that transpired and got out of there.
@viper619ful Villain role? I'm not sure he could be counted as a villain - I mean, what he does isn't exactly right (does anyone actually agree with the law on all aspects?), but it's not like what he does is wrong either. I haven't seen Season 5 (as such, please don't spoil) but I think his logic will be within reason...
Unless of course its fueled because of Dexters behaviour in Season 4... in which case... man...
If i could i would hunt down the real life trinity killer and squirt soap in his mouth! He's a bad man. After the season 4 finale i walked around my house in mourning saying "He killed Dexters Wife! Hes gunna get it"
Hands down best show EVER. I just wish their was another good show to watch. =(
@Stunatra I'd like to ask - what makes Breaking Bad good exactly? I mean, there are several traits that make Dexter great in my opinion but I don't see why there is feud between both shows. Dexter is astonishing - no question about it, but I can't help but wonder why there is conflict between fans of either side, so I've asked - what makes BrBa a good / great / amazing TV series?
And, without spoiling anything (if you can), what is it about?
@Thecrazyhide The writing, the suspense, the cinematography, the acting. An over-qualified high school chemistry teacher gets diagnosed with lung cancer, and being strapped for cash and decent health insurance to cover treatment, he starts cooking meth. I can't really say anymore without spoiling it.
@Stunatra The general backstory really doesn't sound all too... well, good, honestly. :P
I will probably try out Breaking Bad, it sounds basic but then again a psychopathic forensics scientist who uses his urge for blood to kill cold-blooded murderers isn't that stunning to hear either. :P
I can't think that anything could top Dexter off, honestly. :P
@Stunatra I'll have to try and snag the first season of it ^^ I didn't think too much of Dexter when it first started, though I had high expectations - it peaked after less than three episodes and to me it's maintained it until Season 4. I haven't seen Season 5, but I can't wait. :P
Good luck :) I'll see if I can come back once I've seen the first season of BrBa. :D
@OkcKD35 Stargate is alright, though nowhere near as deep as Dexter. The thing is, both are as deep as you can get it down to, Daniel Jackson was a hugely moral person in SG-1 but Dexters psychopathy raises huge philosophical questions on what emotions are and if they're a good thing. Dexter clearly CARES about things, and is a very logical / reasonable person (besides his lust for blood), it's amazing to see this knowledge, as Bruce Lee would say, lead to self-knowledge. :)
Fucking, fucking, fucking amazing!!! omfg.. I don't even have words for how good this series are..actors=amazing, story line= amazing, deep, clever and emotional, the production in it self is seriously good.. I'm following ALOT of shows, but this is by far the best one..
@Berrylaff If youre going to nitpick then lets be honest. The whole damn show is like that. Same formula, same buildup of suspense of being caught due to consistent foolish impulsive decisions. Why even mention The code of Harry. Yet he always gets lucky. This type of storyline cheating gets old. And its pretty much the same motif, ie, superhero and supervillain flavor of the year. btw the good killer shtick gets tiresome as well. I want to be conflicted. Show me a real bastard once in awhile.
@camellove16 I don't want to dabble into Lumen because I know nothing about her yet, but Rita was amazing in terms of both acting and character. I found it ironic how everyone suggested Dexter was the saint where in Season 4 he made some flaws in his actions, where Rita was supporting him with the most outstanding patience I've seen from a person.
Yes, I know she's fictional - the problem? I wish she wasn't :P
@TheMentarium I... Wow, sorry dude. It bummed me out a massive deal learning she died before I saw the finale, I suggest (I know this is 4 months late but still) you don't watch things related to Dexter till you've seen it all. I've got Season 5 ordered, and I'm so upset she died. She was such a supportive and realistic (but amazing) character, incredibly developed throughout the series, or for any TV show.
I thought season 5 was a worthy successor to the epic season 4. I did feel that many of the other storylines were neglected to leave room for Dexter's (the new latina cop, the Fuentas brother just disappeared). It was also highly refreshing that this one didn't have one serial killer opposed to Dexter but rather a small group of sadists. I always found myself wondering "who would be the next serial killer in the next season" before each season. Not this time.
@Berrylaff SORRY...the multiple replies were completely unintentional. Fucking youtube was giving me an, "Error, Try Again" notice every time I tried to post. Had to re-type from memory. But it seems this shit comment system youtube has posted them anyways...making me look like a jackass. Fuck you youtube.
@fitnesschaser01 Mind if I ask what you're doing posting on a Season 5 trailer then? :P
Unless of course you're referring to watching 3 episodes of Season 5... in which case, thanks for not including details that could spoil it for the rest of us :)
Rita's death was the best thing is that show, i loved her so much but it was great that dexter went back to his old place! and thats really something you dont see in every show!
Ritas death was one of the best things in the show, she was an astonishing character and her dying shows every flaw that Dexter is fighting - the best thing is is how applicable it is to nearly every murderer Dexter kills, how it effects the prime victims of the whole affair, the same way it was done by Rita.
The worst thing is? A LOT of people, including me, are hurt by her death, that's how amazing she was, when we're just watching entertainment.
@Thecrazyhide yeah i know i was hurt as well, i *whispers* cried, but as i said it kinda made the show unique, and i recently found out that the reason they killed her was because season 4 was supposed to be the last season but the writes of 24 bought it or sth and they were the ones who wrote season 5 and 6 .. i HATE 24 and i was so pissed when i found out, season 5 wasnt the best and im afraid season 6 wont be either. think if they havent known that they wouldnt have killed her.
I didn't know that, I thought they knew Rita Bannett had to be killed off sometime, and that was the way they decided to do it :/
24 Wasn't bad, from what I can tell, but it certainly doesn't match the calibre nor the style of Dexter. :/
In a way I'm glad Rita is gone, makes it a fantastic element in the series - although I didn't even think she was entirely fleshed out by Dexter, which was one of the worst things about it.
@Thecrazyhide NOO i hate 24 (maybe because im an arab, LOL) but to be honest, nothing they write makes any sense, and after i watched dexter season 5 AGAIN (after finding out they wrote it) i noticed the differences between it and the other seasons, i really hope they dont ruin season 6 !! i was actually more pissed off when Lumen had to leave, to be honest she was more fit that Rita though Rita as i said was my fav
@ElisaIsra "she was more fit that Rita"... not sure I get you there. :P
Attraction? No idea, haven't seen Lumen really.
Personality? Rita was pretty much perfect, I'd be surprised if Lumen does any better.
Noticing differences is something you can always do, I saw sparks of flaw and emotion in Dexter throughout a lot of the seasons, it peaking through Season 4 (not because of Rita, even).
It's funny, because I also noticed a huge lack of emotion with Rita prior to her death.
@Thecrazyhide well i just though Lumen was perfect to dexter because they both had the same dark passenger and stuff, and Dexter told her what he really was, she saw him. well, to each his own. and as i said killing Rita was unique but letting Lumen leave? just got kinda lame. i dont know i was just saying in the first place, lol :P
Also, yeah, Season 4 was also spoiled for me - by myself mind you, looked too much into Rita before seeing the finale - very upsetting.
It's kind of freaky I lose 6-12 hours of sleep knowing Rita was dead, the day I found out and the day I saw her in the show actually die, it's strange.
I'll watch Season 5 once the order comes in, don't worry :D
@ElisaIsra Lumen was the most unecessary character in Dexter.. She never fit the storyline for Season 5.. I thought Season 5 was very poorly written and executed..
@ElisaIsra Nah, Season 6 was miles better than Season 5.. The only season that's worse than Season 5 was Season 3.. Season 6 atleast had focus, Season 5 was just a big mess
@Mordor6121512 yeah season 3 was kind of boring but it was pretty good AND i didnt think season 5 was a mess at all ! but ah well, to each his own i guess.
@ElisaIsra Yeah well Dexter is neither boring nor a mess.. Seasons 1, 2, and 4 were all tight and suspenseful.. Season 6 was also a little tight, but it loses points for trying way too much.. But Season 5 loses itself when it casts Dexter as a secondary character when it was suppose to be focused on Dexter dealing with himself over Rita's death
@ElisaIsra And yeah Season 5 was a big mess.. Many storylines left unanswered, a big unecessary character introduced, Dexter cast off as a secondary character, he doesn't even kill Jordan Chase..
In one day, managed to watch every single episode of season 2 in one day. Never done that with a television show before. Doubt I would again.
Angel batista and other supporting characters were the ones that really saved season 3. Other than that, it was forgettable. After all, season 2 was intense
@0Artist0 Intense doesn't quite describe it. Whilst I'd rather not rate it season by season, as the formula could get old or otherwise worsen in quality (realism?), I can easily say that Season 2 was the biggest "What happens next episode?!" season, although I wouldn't rate it above others. Season 4 really shows Ritas commitment, Season 3 addresses the closeness of Dexter, Season 1 fleshes out the story on a whole and all of this revolves around morals and what emotions are - it teaches.
MIchael C. Hall is such an incredible actor. Seeing him throughout the whole series is just incredible! The end of this trailer where hes screaming or something? Put chills down my spine!
That's the point... Bad people always lose,no matter if he's killing bad people or else.
This show and other shows about bad people, ends up mostly same.

@jasonkim11 Wait... what?
I'm not sure how you meant to put that. Do you mean that this show is:
1) Bad?
2) Will have a better story if it wasn't stretched out? (Stargate SG-1 as an example to not doing that entirely well)
3) So good you want to be over with it now?
Not sure where you're going with this, but Season 6 is meant to be open to the possibility for a Season 7, if I remember correctly.

End of S4 brought tears to my eyes. And i'm not one to cry with movies or series. And this trailer gave chills down my spine. Just. Pure. Chills.
Aganiel 8 months ago
@Aganiel I've dwelled on this a lot and if I had the will to, I would've cried as well - I try not thinking too much about Ritas death in such depth, since it is numbing to the spine in every sense. Rita was an exceptional character, and I felt she wasn't fully revealed even when she died - Dexter didn't seem as thankful as he easily could've been, or as straight-headed in terms of how flawed he was in Season 4, but she persisted.
That, and the scene with the two in the bedroom was exceptional.

Who do you think Dexter killed at 2:22?
KidAnime20 8 months ago
@KidAnime20 it's from Episode 1 of Season 5 I think.
Exquisite80 8 months ago
@KidAnime20 it was just a random guy
Im2CorruptForYa 8 months ago
@Im2CorruptForYa Oh. Well, I figured that he killed one of the more important characters of the series like... Quinn? I didn't think he would actually find displeasure in killing this time, especially on a random stranger. Unless... that is the issue? Killing only to survive, rather than just killing other killers?
KidAnime20 8 months ago
Season 5 on FX tonight! :D Dexter has to be one of, if not my favourite, tv series! Michael C. Hall - What a legend!

@parreirao2 Hmm but it didn't look like he ever had the chance/time to kill her if I'm honest :/ but oh well, thanks for your reply (:
Jigsaw6677 8 months ago
@Jigsaw6677 I think there was sufficient time - well, it happened, but I bought the idea. He went to Debra Morgans house first, found Dexters, killed Rita (sadly) and then went to the car which he put in before all of that transpired and got out of there.
To die by Dexters hand, of course. But man...
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Jigsaw6677 Yes, Trinity actually tells Dexter: he says 'It's already over'. Only in the very end you know what he meant...

@OkcKD35 Breaking Bad is much better than Dexter.
Stunatra 7 months ago
@Stunatra i dont think so.. breaking bad is pretty cool... but dexter is playing on a whole different level...
jonnysonnyHD 6 months ago
@jonnysonnyHD And what level might that be? Can you honestly tell me the writing is better than BrBa?
Stunatra 6 months ago
@Stunatra no your right.. i cant. but i think the atmosphere is bigger in dexter. but thats only my opinion ^^
jonnysonnyHD 6 months ago
@Stunatra I'd like to ask - what makes Breaking Bad good exactly? I mean, there are several traits that make Dexter great in my opinion but I don't see why there is feud between both shows. Dexter is astonishing - no question about it, but I can't help but wonder why there is conflict between fans of either side, so I've asked - what makes BrBa a good / great / amazing TV series?
And, without spoiling anything (if you can), what is it about?
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide The writing, the suspense, the cinematography, the acting. An over-qualified high school chemistry teacher gets diagnosed with lung cancer, and being strapped for cash and decent health insurance to cover treatment, he starts cooking meth. I can't really say anymore without spoiling it.
Stunatra 5 months ago
@Stunatra The general backstory really doesn't sound all too... well, good, honestly. :P
I will probably try out Breaking Bad, it sounds basic but then again a psychopathic forensics scientist who uses his urge for blood to kill cold-blooded murderers isn't that stunning to hear either. :P
I can't think that anything could top Dexter off, honestly. :P
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide It's a lot better than it sounds, believe me.
Stunatra 5 months ago
@Stunatra I'll have to try and snag the first season of it ^^ I didn't think too much of Dexter when it first started, though I had high expectations - it peaked after less than three episodes and to me it's maintained it until Season 4. I haven't seen Season 5, but I can't wait. :P
Good luck :) I'll see if I can come back once I've seen the first season of BrBa. :D
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Stunatra Saw it. Got bored.
sk8erkid6485 3 months ago
@OkcKD35 Stargate is alright, though nowhere near as deep as Dexter. The thing is, both are as deep as you can get it down to, Daniel Jackson was a hugely moral person in SG-1 but Dexters psychopathy raises huge philosophical questions on what emotions are and if they're a good thing. Dexter clearly CARES about things, and is a very logical / reasonable person (besides his lust for blood), it's amazing to see this knowledge, as Bruce Lee would say, lead to self-knowledge. :)
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago

TheMentarium 10 months ago 27
@TheMentarium honestly, you won't care about Rita once you meet Lumen.
camellove16 6 months ago
@camellove16 I don't want to dabble into Lumen because I know nothing about her yet, but Rita was amazing in terms of both acting and character. I found it ironic how everyone suggested Dexter was the saint where in Season 4 he made some flaws in his actions, where Rita was supporting him with the most outstanding patience I've seen from a person.
Yes, I know she's fictional - the problem? I wish she wasn't :P
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@TheMentarium I... Wow, sorry dude. It bummed me out a massive deal learning she died before I saw the finale, I suggest (I know this is 4 months late but still) you don't watch things related to Dexter till you've seen it all. I've got Season 5 ordered, and I'm so upset she died. She was such a supportive and realistic (but amazing) character, incredibly developed throughout the series, or for any TV show.
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
I thought season 5 was a worthy successor to the epic season 4. I did feel that many of the other storylines were neglected to leave room for Dexter's (the new latina cop, the Fuentas brother just disappeared). It was also highly refreshing that this one didn't have one serial killer opposed to Dexter but rather a small group of sadists. I always found myself wondering "who would be the next serial killer in the next season" before each season. Not this time.
Ranking: season 1, 4, 5, 2 and 3.

Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
Rita's death was the best thing is that show, i loved her so much but it was great that dexter went back to his old place! and thats really something you dont see in every show!
ElisaIsra 10 months ago
@ElisaIsra Back to his own place? What?
Ritas death was one of the best things in the show, she was an astonishing character and her dying shows every flaw that Dexter is fighting - the best thing is is how applicable it is to nearly every murderer Dexter kills, how it effects the prime victims of the whole affair, the same way it was done by Rita.
The worst thing is? A LOT of people, including me, are hurt by her death, that's how amazing she was, when we're just watching entertainment.
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide yeah i know i was hurt as well, i *whispers* cried, but as i said it kinda made the show unique, and i recently found out that the reason they killed her was because season 4 was supposed to be the last season but the writes of 24 bought it or sth and they were the ones who wrote season 5 and 6 .. i HATE 24 and i was so pissed when i found out, season 5 wasnt the best and im afraid season 6 wont be either. think if they havent known that they wouldnt have killed her.
ElisaIsra 5 months ago
@ElisaIsra Wait, what?
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide NOO i hate 24 (maybe because im an arab, LOL) but to be honest, nothing they write makes any sense, and after i watched dexter season 5 AGAIN (after finding out they wrote it) i noticed the differences between it and the other seasons, i really hope they dont ruin season 6 !! i was actually more pissed off when Lumen had to leave, to be honest she was more fit that Rita though Rita as i said was my fav
ElisaIsra 5 months ago
@ElisaIsra "she was more fit that Rita"... not sure I get you there. :P
Attraction? No idea, haven't seen Lumen really.
Personality? Rita was pretty much perfect, I'd be surprised if Lumen does any better.
Noticing differences is something you can always do, I saw sparks of flaw and emotion in Dexter throughout a lot of the seasons, it peaking through Season 4 (not because of Rita, even).
It's funny, because I also noticed a huge lack of emotion with Rita prior to her death.
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide well i just though Lumen was perfect to dexter because they both had the same dark passenger and stuff, and Dexter told her what he really was, she saw him. well, to each his own. and as i said killing Rita was unique but letting Lumen leave? just got kinda lame. i dont know i was just saying in the first place, lol :P
ElisaIsra 5 months ago
@ElisaIsra Dang, spoiled it :<
Anyway, "seeing" him is what happened with both Lila and Miguel, it's a sad story, really.
Perfect to Dexter? I'll watch Season 5 soon enough, I'd like to see how she was.
Rita was indefinitely perfect to Dexter, she was an amazing character - I really doubt Lumen could be better in any way, honestly. :P
... Which is nearly the exact same thing I said in my previous post lol. I miss Rita already :<
Thecrazyhide 5 months ago
@Thecrazyhide SHIT FUCK ME! IM SO SORRY!!! i shoulda kept my mouth shut T__T
but dont worry, LOTSA surprises in season 5 its not all spoiled yet :P
you should watch it like, RIGHT FUCKIN NOW! and btw season 4 was spoiled for me but i still enjoyed the show! :)
ElisaIsra 5 months ago
@ElisaIsra Hey, chill out - it's alright ;)

@Thecrazyhide awwww haha ah well, let me know what you think of season 5 :)
ElisaIsra 5 months ago
@ElisaIsra Lumen was the most unecessary character in Dexter.. She never fit the storyline for Season 5.. I thought Season 5 was very poorly written and executed..
Mordor6121512 3 weeks ago
@Mordor6121512 Meh man. Season 5 was still much much much better than season 6. honestly the worst season of them all. So disappointed in Dexter!
ElisaIsra 3 weeks ago
@ElisaIsra Nah, Season 6 was miles better than Season 5.. The only season that's worse than Season 5 was Season 3.. Season 6 atleast had focus, Season 5 was just a big mess
Mordor6121512 3 weeks ago
@Mordor6121512 yeah season 3 was kind of boring but it was pretty good AND i didnt think season 5 was a mess at all ! but ah well, to each his own i guess.
ElisaIsra 3 weeks ago
@ElisaIsra Yeah well Dexter is neither boring nor a mess.. Seasons 1, 2, and 4 were all tight and suspenseful.. Season 6 was also a little tight, but it loses points for trying way too much.. But Season 5 loses itself when it casts Dexter as a secondary character when it was suppose to be focused on Dexter dealing with himself over Rita's death
Mordor6121512 3 weeks ago
@ElisaIsra And yeah Season 5 was a big mess.. Many storylines left unanswered, a big unecessary character introduced, Dexter cast off as a secondary character, he doesn't even kill Jordan Chase..
Mordor6121512 3 weeks ago
Rita dead.. she is who balanced everything

Man, they still can't top season 2!
Order of seasons from best to worst:
Season 2
Season 1
Season 4
season 5
season 3
In one day, managed to watch every single episode of season 2 in one day. Never done that with a television show before. Doubt I would again.
Angel batista and other supporting characters were the ones that really saved season 3. Other than that, it was forgettable. After all, season 2 was intense
0Artist0 10 months ago 2
@0Artist0 imo season two was the most boring one.. i would say; 4,1,5,3,2
pavener 10 months ago
@0Artist0
I agree one hundred percent. Season 2 still is the best. Season 4 was a good sign though that things are improving again.
33hegemon 9 months ago
@0Artist0 Intense doesn't quite describe it. Whilst I'd rather not rate it season by season, as the formula could get old or otherwise worsen in quality (realism?), I can easily say that Season 2 was the biggest "What happens next episode?!" season, although I wouldn't rate it above others. Season 4 really shows Ritas commitment, Season 3 addresses the closeness of Dexter, Season 1 fleshes out the story on a whole and all of this revolves around morals and what emotions are - it teaches.
