  • Ang galing naman nito. At ang ganda pa ng musikang ginamit as background. This is so cool and amazing. Impressive. Thumbs up.

  • Try Inworldz.com, Over 30,000 prims to play with and land/sim fees tiny compared to Second Life. Oh and no upload fees either - a builders paradise.

  • how do you cut a wall into the shape of a door? Thanks!

  • And don't forget, in Sl you can place poseballs, or a rug in that house, and have a ton of fun. :)

  • I need to learn how to script

  • Hy all, I'm in a trouble. I get 5-6 FPS and it's a crap to play. In the Graphics tab, I can adjust the sliders, I set to low all the sliders and I still get only 5 FPS. I would want to run the game at a lower resolution, like 800x600, I run my desktop at 1280x1024, so the game runs at the desktop's one. I don't see anywhere the resolution button to change, where is it? At the others, it appears, but at me, no way.

  • This is really time consuming and sadly I don't have the patience, or the time to do this stuff, but I really would love to. :)

  • Cool video ty for sharing :)

  • hey everybody!

  • I build houses on SL. There are a wide variety of people that do, some are real life professionals and others are amateurs like myself. "Mastering" building and scripting of the Windows, doors, locks, permissions and so forth has been a lot of fun and sometimes very frustrating.

I enjoy other people's work just as much as I do my own. The JC Customs and Dominion Homes are really interesting. Some houses are purely "fantastic" and that's fine too. SL is an IDEAL place for real life modeling!

  • dont click on the link it have malware virus on it

  • what is this for a Game ? ?

  • i wish i could move a wall with magic in real life

  • @GnomeAir Believe it and it happen and you become the world best magician!!!!

  • wooow vraiment bien fait

  • pfft, 100 bucks to keep a house live for four months, why dont you just get a copy of half life 2 from one of your kids [or buy it for what, like 10-20 bucks] and use the FREE level editor. Just add in some custom house textures and your set... Valve Hammer editor (previously WorldCraft) is very easy and intuitive to use. Brains required, checkbook, not so much. Stop throwing your money down the drain with monthly fees, be smart, pay ONCE and be done. There are free alternatives, too.

  • @breadrack This clip is 3 years old, so I'll admit it is amateur in comparison to the serious architecture-related accomplishments that have been achieved during the past several years, and can see how it may be misunderstood...

I hope to publish an update soon that should help shed light on all of the recent advances that have made virtual worlds (Second Life as one example) even more powerful tools for architectural collaboration, simulation, education, visualization and so much more.

  • @Keystone1111 It's not misunderstood, it's just waaaaay overpriced and far too limited for the monthly chunk of change they want. Even LEGO's were cheaper (ok, maybe thats a bit dated of an opinion - by 20-some years or so, but it still holds). Will still check back when you put the new vid up. The video was def interesting. It's a nice idea to put your houses up but you can do SO much better with other programs out there. Second-life users are not among your target purchaser's demographic.

  • @breadrack I'm guessing you're not on Second Life. Before you condemn this, you really should come in-world and see what's being done today.

This video is very archaic in comparison to what's being done now. The house I own in Second Life is absolutely amazing. Very realistically built, down to the staricase railings. It is a house I could actually see built in real life. If you ever deside to join, do a search on "Quantum Destiny" and check out his builds. I think you'd change your tune.

  • @JudiG yea i was on second life about 2 years ago, friend of mine was on in back in 07 or so, i tried it the 1st time, then bought a membership 2nd time, just didnt catch on as worth it for the money...hey if it floats your boat go ahead, have at it, it's your right, but i've got better ways to spend my money. Thats how i afford fancy computer parts :)

  • @Keystone1111 I agree... I see no reason to do this in SL when it could be done in, say, CryEngine 3 without upkeep fees, and with the best graphics currently possible in realtime. SL is only useful for socialization and mass collaboration.

  • @Aphradonis As an entrepreneur in SL, I have to disagree. One reason for building in SL is that people will buy what you create. That translates to real dollars. A large, detailed mansion can sell for $200USD. The large, realistically built home I had went for $80. Consider how much money the builder is making. And these were not "one off". They are prefabs that can be purchased by anyone. I'm currently learning to build furniture. I just completed my first skybox. Reason? Besides fun - Money!

  • @breadrack

Also by using HL2 you can get Gmod which you can do this and much much more all in a multiplayer enviroment

  • @breadrack Why would you want a house in proprietary single-player software? That's pretty stupid. And by the way, I pay $10/wk for 65536 sqm, which hundreds of people get to visit every day. I don't even pay it because my L$ income covers it easily. So... no.

  • @breadrack you cant really compare secondlife to anything. especially popular console games. The freedom SL brings to the table is totally unmatched.

and if money is an issue for you that doesnt mean that to others the problem is the same or even that it makes owning land.parcel/sim undesirable.

sadly people like you dont see the potential that a grid like SL has. Its freedoms and possibilities.

  • The design looks amazing. I'd love to try that out.

  • how do you put blue prints into second life?

  • So cool the amount you can do in second life... I wanna join! Is it free?

  • Yep! There's an option for a premium account, and the option to buy currency if you don't want to earn it in-game, but ultimately it's free.

  • @ axxer, you probably have never been in second life, have you actually SEEN some of the buildings in there? you can go beyond gravity to build whatever style of house you want

  • i did a house on SL b4

  • Are you blind or something? This is OBVIOUSLY related to architecture.

  • Im not blind. Im just an architect.

  • Isn't architecture to do with Buildings though.?

  • No duh... Look at the video. he drew out a floorplan of said building and is creating a 3D preview model in Second Life to see if everything fits together. It's so obvious, how could you miss that?

  • Just comes to show what can be achieved through virtual reality these days. I don't have a second life account (didn't see a reason to) but on the other hand... If there's an architect group there, I would like to join the group to learn more about architecture. ^^

  • When do ppl usually get on SL. Lately I see no one on any island .

  • i need help i'm trying run this and i'm getting an error saying unable to run because your video card driver wasn't installed properly, are out of date, or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers. can someone please help me.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the melody please?

  • This is from Beethoven 9th symphony - II. Molto vivace......

  • Is this completely free?

  • yup, you dont have to pay real money to play, yu can earn or win money in there but there are so many freebies avaliable, you don't need to use real money

I miss this game but also can't get in because of computer problems

be warned though, this game is addictive LOL!

  • I needz hiring, I can build pretty much whatever! My acc is

    EllaKyn Raleigh

    :D

  • i for my boss i belive the reward is 20% of sales

  • I need someone to hel me out in building a big project with high pay

if you have building exp then come please

  • WOW!

That's what I like about second life, you get to customize EVERYTHING! :)

But what sucks is that I don't have money to buy or rent a land T_T

  • if you have a secondlife acc and you need money im hiring right now my acc is

    Tobias Zdychava

  • i want to join this game soooo bad but my computer cant handle all the little details and stuff.

    =[

  • Imvu sux major.

  • Dude. You = Stupid. The freakin users make the stuff! IMVU Sucks balls. It crashes every fucking time. No wonder nobody exept noobs like you use it.

  • What is the name of this great tool?

  • where do u get one?!

  • Wow, sweet.

  • Hello...

    Nice video...

How i move in Second Life?

    Use camera?

  • Oh how slick! I aughta try that out whenever I can get back on T-T I have damn vista and I cant find a suitable download for my version. Damn vista isnt compatable with ANYTHING!

  • Such a great video, and what a great idea. I was just doing some work in Google Sketchup and learning their approach. The laying out of the floorplan in SL to build on is simple, but brilliant!

Congrats to Keystone1111 for making use of a virtual world to make some serious money!

  • Wow, that is amazing. What kind of money do you pay in Second Life to have a lot that large, and the buildings/textures?

I'm a high school student looking into getting into architecture/engineering, so this is very interesting to me. The idea of being able to use "shitty" second-life as a design program is fascinating, I think. Please respond!

  • 18plus

  • 25 50 $ in game not real ???

  • what program ?

  • The construction process is magic!I hope that I can build my house.

  • @mickeymoose76 Actually, it takes more like 5,000 sqm to get the right amount of detail, which I rent for $25 per month. If I replicate one of our client's projects in Second Life, and keep it 'live' for 4 months, the land costs $100. Isnt' it worth that much to be able to walk around inside of a virtual replica of a home you are about to spend $400k+ to build? The virtual model sure beats a static 2D rendering or cardboard study model, and is well worth the $100 investment in land, imho.

  • You're really right about this. I normally work with ArchiCad and creating a "workable" 3D enviroment for the client to play around in is either near impossible and asks quite a lot of power from the computer. Second life is not very resource friendly too, but at least it quicker to set things up

  • @thehumor What can you *do* with any website? A virtual model enables our real-life clients to tour design ideas before the home is built... they can test paint colors, material types and finishes - even landscaping options and furniture layouts. The technology is still young, but the value it already provides is very real.

  • Why not use the sims 2 . It's better and it's FREE . You get me ? FREE .

  • Second Life is free too? Derp. Even more free than Sims 2 since you don't even have to BUY it

  • You have a point . But there're some stuff you can't get for free in second life . And sims 2 has the booty list to get pay objects for free .

  • and what can u do with it?

absolutly totaly nothing. there goes your earned money, thrown to just bunch of pixels

  • You'd have to own a hell of a lot of land to be able to build all that in so much detail, the amount of prim allowance (the amount of detail and content you can apply to a parcel or patch or land) is no where near enough to make a decent home on a normal piece of land, you need at least 3000-4000 sq metres of land to be able to do that which costs near to $25 a month to run...

  • amazing

  • nice..

  • w8 so you can just build whatever

  • I share some land with a friend. Great now I can get started on building a dream home! This inspired me thanks for the video!

  • brilliant! Wish I had time to build mine by myself.

  • cute thanks for sharing!

  • way better than the sims2!!!

  • @RockDreamerGirl ehm... Second Life and Sims have looot of differences... btw its not for small girls...

  • Comment removed

  • @VusCZ and who is gonna stop me for using it?? you??? actually i want to study interior design or architecture so as i can't use autocad or that stuff i use this things and know what?? nobody stops me for doing what i like!!! so if you wanted to feel like the boss you got the wrong girl xD and btw.. the differences are more of the technology and the graphics and all that but if you can play the sims you can use this things with practice :D

  • About $9.95/month

  • k, my firend owns a sim and i cod buy land there :D so now i got land xD so its in my name.

  • how much was for a small land? i build on SL for fun

  • if u got a normal account u cant buy land where ever u want only at some special places but all u realy have to do is get a friend who got land and ask if u can rent it and have first week/s free so u can build/paint/script somthing to sell. enny way if ur not a paid member u cant send money into the game or take oute money and some other ditails. the mony part dosent realy mather as u can own mony enny way and you can buy enny thing you want (whitoute land).

  • That's incorrect. If you have a premium account you can own land which is still under the developing company's control, ie, Linden Labs. You can add money from RL to your account with any type of account, and there is very little you can't do with a free account. There is, however, almost no advantage to having a premium account and it is entirely a waste of money.

  • dude this looks way better than T

    here

  • thats some great work..how did you upload the the plans into SL?

  • he probebly just uploaded the picture then changed the texture on a mega prim and viola :)

  • waw. great software.

  • How did the guy put those drawings right under his feet? I have drawings and I want to do the same thing. Its a smart way to build houses in SL.

  • what game is this called?

    for pc?

  • Its Called Second life =]

  • second life

:D my user name is Jmt79 Alter :D

  • plus is is just another piece of evidence the the human race is becoming detached from our roots and to be frank we dont give a fuck about mother earth..and we should!!Just prepare yourself mentally for the concept of time acceleration, disrigard your ignorance, take some time and appredciate the information left for us by ancient civilizations....MAYA....pretty much pacal votan was right....deal with it

  • wtf r u talkin about????????shut up

  • Oh look, another tree hugger! Quick, get a camera before it gets away-aww, too late.

  • Ahh good music, Beethoven's symphony #3 if im not mistaken

  • oooh he is dath vader

    awsome

  • he is a good builder in ,but not that good like i am. i add light effects to the textures,i use and make sculps.

IM falco canning for custom work

  • i still don't understand why people want to build RL houses in SL. roof pitch is based on snow fall and building codes are based on RL physics. there's no rain in SL. things don't get wet. there's no dry rot or termites. or fires. so why do it? build for this world!

  • well why do you post on youtube? because you like to, some people just like to do dif things

  • For fun. And profit I guess.

  • Some people go on Second Life to design actual house and building structures and I can understand why. The game or software, however you want to think of it as, makes building and designing structures easy and you can actually view your creations 360 degrees inside and outside. obviously there isn't termites, fires, rust, mold, weather that causes damage to structures, and some people use second life as an architecture aid instead of a free for all, build a mansion floating above ground.

  • Bravo.

  • Nice work.

  • nice jobs

wish i could build like that

  • i got a name its fun

  • i love sl my names on there is lashae randt and boonky snoodle

  • cool :)

  • damn, this is NOT A GAME!

  • secondlife is weird. I don't get it.

  • this game looks awesome but does it carry viruses?

  • Nope.

  • lol vthe guy sleepin on the windmill

  • wow thx i didnt know how to make house but now i do thx

  • Whoa, what a cool video. Quality work. I gotta get Second Life. If you like 3-D models there are some cool architectural models used in the beginning of a music video I just saw called "The Distance". I heard the lead singer is also an architect. Check it out, the music is pretty great too.

  • must of taken ages allthough i dont see the point in it its still good

  • impressive

this is alot easier than using SDK

lol i hate tilt and pan :/

  • Yes, but I prefer the superior graphics and physics engine that SDK has :)

  • what a buildet :D

  • Wow, amazing :P very good job

  • Great, but I still thinking that the best tool, is my hand and my imagination. As a builder I prefer to create something than copy a concept from the RL. But still great for those who can't build or define his concept.

    C u in-world

  • friggen good, whatr program r u using?

  • cool, do you get to shoot people

  • The "program" is Second Life, and all of it is filmed in-game. The only post-production in this video is time lapse and clipping. It's an excellent tool for honing skills in 3D modeling.

  • this looks really useful. is this just an animation or is it a program?

and if it is a program, what's the name of it?

  • it's a game called second life

  • what kind of program is that! any downloadings links?

  • wow

  • awesome ! just awesome !

  • WTF are u talking about no u dont..... thats if u want a premium accound... u can skip the pay section...

  • yea but no pay sucks

  • No it dosen't. I don't pay and I LOVE second life.

  • And you're an idiot.

  • lol scientology.

  • Get a dictionary please.

  • No you don't lol.

  • one question what program did u use...did u use sketchup or some program like that...i like the video by the way.

  • 9TH SYMPHONY!!!SORRY...:D

  • Beethoven's 7th Symphony don't fit here...but interesting video anyway...

  • It´s Beethoven´s 9th Symphony....

  • Sry, just now noticing you´ve allready corrected yourself

  • whoa O.O Awsome !

  • if i could make walls like this, i would live in a villa! XD

  • Wow very nice video on building.

  • Wow I love how these guys just drop down real designs into the world and just start building on them! Such a beautiful and novel idea! Do they sell designs in SL for us regular folks to use? Hmmmm, I'm sure I could just get some designs myself off the net somewhere. This is a brilliant way to teach the art to those learning it. 5 stars!

  • I love the outdoor tv...

  • great work

  • Nice video, but it's not a machinema after all...

  • please, i got a lapsus: which symphony is that? ty

  • Excelent video!

We are deeply interested in green architecture

    and sustainable design

    Please check us out too!!

  • cool.

  • really nice video

  • esta buno pero baja muy lento

  • Omg! You're an amazing architech! Was the floorplan a pic that you got off of the net? Great idea! You probably have too much money! Which Second Life is this? Did you link the house or just take all of the parts together? Wow! Great job!

  • i built a 10 floor art gallery in one day in second life its such a cool place

  • wow that was really good XD i wish i could build houses like that T.T

  • That was done well!

I've just started second life myself

  • i never thought of that i need mi some blueprints ;p

    maybee my house? yayayya

  • I think it's easier than Autocad. I'm also an architect student in madrid (ETSAM), and it's amazing Second life for us...the problem is we don't have enoguh time to play...:S maybe in Summer

  • I think it's a great idea I'm an architecture student and we use sketchup shots to show the circulation through a building, using second life, means a client could got a for a walk through the design at their own speed. Obviously construction detialling would be a bit pointless, unless you planned to send shots of the design to your contractor, I find it hard to believe that it could be easier and more accurate than Auto cad 3d though.

  • @ 1kee25: It was made in Second Life.

  • Was this from a google sketch up
