  • he's rich because he doesn't pay them damn taxes !!

  • "Life is a vacation" ... That is a truly great man...

  • lol main steam media gimps

  • rip man

  • This guy makes me happy. What a great guy. I mean, many people would probably think less of a job that involves selling things on the streets. This guy makes me want to sell stuff in a similar matter on the streets. In a similar, entertaining way. WOW.

  • wow, its the first time ive ever been sad after hearing someone died :/ sounds pathetic but dang, that sucks, will be missed

  • this is so inspiring!

  • Meanwhile in Somalia...

  • He did NOT make a million dollars at selling potato peelers.... his money came from his 4th wife.

  • this dude is a fucking boss

  • this guy was the man

  • I just saw this and wanted to meet him and get a potato peeler, too. His timing for this program was impeccable. He was so quickly gone and, somehow, it seems may have sensed his death coming. So fortunate, in non-monetary ways, his descendants.

  • @lizziecohen my sentiments exactly :)

  • BAMF

  • OCCUPY, MY ASS

  • so.. is there no way to get that potato peeler now...

  • Does anyone know the song at 1:56?

  • why would you vbuy that when there are tons of automatic potato peelers out there?? invest 20 bucks more and you never have to worry again

  • @Zekee27 because his was special... :(

  • father of sales people :)

  • seriously does anyone know where i can get a potato peeler????? i want one soooooooo bad im dead serious

  • @kahluathekinkajou

  • @kahluathekinkajou

    Star Peeler by Zena

  • wow with his money why didnt he make a commercial and sell his product to stores like wal mart, cooking shops etc. he would make so much more

  • A smiley face and a warm heart can go a long way. Nice story. RIP.

  • when He said life is a vacation. It seems like I have found the light.

  • someone have to make a movie about him!

  • "Never underestimate a small amount of money"

I love this story, you'll be missed

  • Its because he didn't pay his taxes

  • My Mentor Max use to say "That everyone wants to be rich but few are willing to pay the price" . It's obvious that Mr. Ades loved what he did, was consistent in its approach and was rewarded for it. Getting up every day and schlepping a wagon with fruit and vegetables all over NYC and talking to strangers is something few of us would be willing to do. Gawd , I have such respect for people like Mr. Ades. What a remarkable story! What a Mentor! Claude Diamond-Author of "The Mentor teaches GUTS

  • I smell tax evasion

  • Nice vids, anyone needs Local IM advice check out my channel..

  • Not only did the guy make a good living and pay for his kids schooling he is an inspiration.

  • RIP sir! I am sure you will make heaven a better place

  • "life is a Vacation" Wow thats called being grateful for each day you live!

  • cool totally the best salesman in the world

  • Joe died on 2-01-09 R.I.P. You were a good man. We will miss you

  • Being close to him for many Green market day's, we became friends. What a gentleman. Good buy Joe.

  • This man reminds me of my Dad. He started as a shoe shiner. He Started Hawking stuff on a cart on the street.......He went on like that. He is a real inspiration to me.

"Never under estimate the small amount of money"

  • did he have to pay taxes on them?

  • that bitch couldn't buy one peeler from him? i wonder how much she made during the shoot? $5?

  • This is inspiring. But when you stop to think about this it's really a story of building a high salary / income for yourself. It's a story of a high margin. He was probably buying them at 10 cents a piece. Selling 10 each hour makes you about 50 bucks / hr. Not a bad job. With anything like 10% margin (most products) this unfortunately not make it to Park Ave. He, of course, deserves all the credit.

  • The 1 dislike comes from the guy who got sold the christmas tree in February...

  • wow that's inspirational

  • Joe remains an inspiration. I never did see Joe, but with talent like that I would've emptied my pockets in appreciation for a salesman who cares about his product. Joe knew a 5 dollar peeler better than any car salesman knows a 40 000 dollar car. Rest in peace, Joe.

  • talk about being ready to do business - did you see all those peelers in his spare room!

  • I'm a professional messsenger carring high price merchandize. I was mezmorized by this man and had my bosses wondering where I was.I'll miss you old friend

  • what a great guy. he makes the world seem like a good place.

  • Pretty amazing. However, I find it hard to believe he became a millionaire doing this. There has to be more to the story.

  • @stemikger

I did too at first but when you watch some of his videos you'll notice that his presentations are a little over 3 minutes and within a minute on some of these you'll notice he's pulling about 1 hundred bucks a pop and he never stops pitching. I can defintely see it now. If you read his articles in the NY post and Vanity Fair you'll find that his suits alone are about 800-1200 a pop and his sweaters are always cashmere.. =)

  • God bless his family because he had such a positive and joyful spirit while he was alive.

  • may he rest in peace

  • is a potato peeler really worth $5?

  • I WANT ONE (or TWO)!! Where can I get one now that Joe is gone?

  • write a rap song about this. assholes
