The book is so much more than the movie the babies that were different in any way were basically starved to death from being fed molasses and water. They also burned the babies bodies because there weren't enough graves and it was reported that some of the dead babies were tossed out into the ocean. It was scary stuff to read.
I just finished reading this book and it wasn't until the end I realised there was a movie! Another book I just returned was called "Dancing With The Devil" It'a a real eye opener on Canada and there bullshit laws and pathetic CAS workers wether it be 1940 or 2010!
I watched this movie when I was younger, being from that area.. it just gives me the chills that something like this went on so close to where I live :( It makes me cry even thinking about all of this :(
I actallu found the book at our library and got it out and read it. The book tells so much more they even put two entirely different babies together for couple who wanted twins. Our library sadly doesn't have the movie anymore.
