@blueingreentrain I don't think he ever trained with Rickson, but yes, after loosing to Gracie in the Vale Tudo Nakai went to Brazil to train. I believe he became the first Japanese BJJ black belt.
Only thing that I think is so weird to see is how they both just drop to their butts to pull guard. Probably a smart move, but just seems not smart in a real situation. Of course if you're on the ground do as BJJ, Judo, Sambo, Wrestling does....
Yeah, it looks funny when they both go for guard, but this fight is sport. I'm sure neither would do that in a MMA match or fight.
Also, there is some strategy there, as they both avoid the takedown and do not have to fight behind on two points because they were taken down... Again, it's a sport match. Some go for the takedown, others go right to work from the guard/bottom.
Both are awesome fighters though...incredible technique.
Yeah folks Yuki Nakai is the man and after having trained under him for a year, i have the utmost respect for the guy. Obviously not speaking japanese i could not ask him, but he did not learn bjj until after his fight with Rickson, as he was a shooto fighter before.
That is an awesome video for that game! Anyone here Halo Fans? I bet most of you are. I'm getting my copy of Halo 3 for free at halo3.wantsDOTit(replace DOT with .) I also get a free xbox 360 elite system.
Everyone better go get there copy for free too at:
lovely submission set up. i will try it myself - brabo grip and the triangle are my favourite things in training at the moment, but i had not thought of combining them. i am glad that mario did not get the arm bar with the cheater grip in the pants!!! that would have been a dishonorable ending.
O.O Wow, you trained with him? That's pretty impressive, also I wanna thanks for all the clips, they're some of the better JJ out there, music's bangin' too, who did the song?
After I should think. He lost his sight after the Vale Tudo in 96. He is a very cool guy. I trained with him a few years ago, he is very friendly and doesn't hold anything back.
Yuki Nakai's the man, was this before or after the eye-injury? Because while I know it shouldn't matter, it'd be nice to put things into timeline with some of hus other fights.
excellent manouvere at 4.49!!

That's a song from the brazilian rapper Sabotage. I wouldn't know exactly which one. Another murdered rapper, BTW...
