My understanding is that they won't drop the song down an octave. Chicago wants there music to sound as close to the album as possible. That is what I have always been told, and one of there problems with Bill Champlin, but that is another conversation. I know that Kieth Howland has been singing it for the last couple years in concert. I assume since Jason is really having a hard time with the high notes these days, that is why Kieth is doing it, and Kieth sounds good singing it.

Dont get me wrong, Cetera is a great singer. But, for me, there is somehting about his voice that grates on my ears. Jason is, to my ears, a better singer. More appealing to me and has a smoother sound. This is just my opinion. IT isnt that I think Jason is so much better than Cetera. Both are great singers. This is just my personal reason as to why I like Jasons voice better.

his voice is fresh at this point when this was recorded .  as time goes on and you play the grind of many tours his voice looses some of its flair . he is still a great singer but you will have a hard time finding vids where he sounds this good

He does an excellent job with this song. Does 25 or 6 to 4 fantastic. Young guitar player is fantastic., but not Kath. Saw them about ten years after Cetera left and was very very surprised how similar they were and the group hadn't missed a beat, well I'll take that back, they lost some great great talent.
