She performed right up to the end. I caught a part of her act in Florida maybe the year before she passed away. She was brittle, but still entertaining. She told great stories about parties she had thrown. We ate it up.
i was a txi driver in ny in 1974 and had the opportunity to have her in my cab---a lovely down-to-earth unassuming woman who treated with me with grace and class and we spoke for about the arts for about 10 minutes---i never forgot that r.i.p. ms carlisle---u exude class, dignity, and were a true new yorker
I am more than grateful I saw Kitty, and seeing this again just touched me very much. I saw her March 2006 and then September 2006... two moments I will carry with the rest of my life.
I am so sad that she is gone...she was a grand lady and entertainer...I have always had a big crush on her ever since I saw To Tell The Truth reruns as a little kid.
What a great clip..I loved Kitty...A very funny Harpo Marx story...I was amazed she continued working well into her 90's..She enriched all of our lives and she is sorely missed everyday...As I am typing this, I hear the sound of thunder..I have a feeling that's Kitty's way of thanking me for the tribute..
Had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Carlisle at a event that was held in her honor by the NEW ROCHELLE OPERA COMPANY. Was saddened by the news of her passing.
What a fascinatingly exquisite person Mrs Hart; thank you for perserving her memory via this video. Very kind of you to share - it was a real treat to watch.
Kitty Carlisle Hart was an incredible woman and, as far as I can see, the last surviving leading member of cast of the Marx Brothers classic "A Night at the Opera" (1935). In her prime, she had a great singing voice. This clip proves that she kept her poise and elegance to the end of her long life. Thanks, GabrielCarey, for posting this clip.
Such an Elegant woman.
This was her song...

I think she was in love with Alan Jones when they sang together in the movie which I listen to very often.
