@miley929 There are many things that can help, i'm trying sleep hypnosis videos on youtube to help me, they dont always work, the longer ones are better there is also delta freqency and white noise to help sleep, also ear plugs might help block out noise, but the sleep rduction thing in this video sounds like a good idea.

hmm, the longest i've gone without sleep has been 5 days, mind you I'm dealing with major depression and slight schizophrenia... insomnia is an added joy in my life, NOT! 5 days of no sleep really messes with your mind. Granted right now it's 6 AM and I have yet to fall asleep tonight, so YAY!

This could just be lack of sleep otherwise :) Hallucinations alone can occur only 27 hours past the time you woke up (some serious mind fuck depending on how your brain is holding up). If you're dead-beat tired (I mean really tired) and can't fall asleep or wake up way too soon then you'll know there's something wrong with you to the point where it's out of your hands and you need medical attention. Otherwise try this... or anything that relaxes you. A great number of youtubers are actually insomniacs who watch massage videos and weird shamanic rituals because its makes you shit drowsy (including me. Start an hour before bedtime if you try this)

Last night i was trying to sleep , i dont know what you would call this , but i went into a trance , i was awake and i looked beside myself and saw my own body dead. I could not move my body after that no matter how hard i tried , I was in this trance for about a minute and when i got out of it I was sweating like a pig. @joshhh1012 its called a lucid dream its when you're fully aware of being asleep but you're awake.. it happened to me a couple of times... but when you do lucid dream you can control what you do in the dream but you have to make it a habit of remembering you're asleep.. dont worry about it though it feels like a nightmare but it will end so keep that in mind
@princelord55 Astral projection in theory. You can't disprove it but that doesn't mean its proof. Regardless if you've done it or not and believe it to be true if you want to be philosophical about it at least make a pass and mention why it could not be astral projection.
@nimovio, if you have an iPod listen to some relaxation songs especially designed for sleep (search it up on YouTube) and get some ear phones that drown out noise around you, these can be found in HMV or in any other electronics, DVD, iPod or movie store it works for me since my mum has the loudest chronic snoring Everett :P hope this helps!!!!!
My mind just won't stay quiet. No matter how tired I am. I wake up same thing the mind starts wandering about even while on sleeping pills . It's like I am looking for that little light switch to click it to go to sleep. I tried breathing techniques, sleeping pills etc. I haven't tried this. I have had Insomnia since getting married and having children 7 years ago. This is NOT going to work for everyone that is for sure. I’m a competitive Roadcycle racer and very fit. A year and a half ago I decided to get up at 4.15AM every morning (going to bed at 9.30PM) do training until about 6.20AM, home, shower, breakfast and out to work. I still didn’t sleep properly. I’m going to a sleep specialist ($210!) in two weeks and what’s the bet he’ll use this treatment.

OMG...Thank you soooo much for this video!! I have the same problem he did. I stay up all night no matter what i do i cant sleep i get to sleep when the sun comes up and then i have to get my kids up for school and i tell you it takes everything i have to get up once i get to that point of needing sleep! it really works and it is worth trying it...I have been suffering from Insomnia for past 3 1/2 years..I went to a doctor who asked me to take Ambien for a while...It stopped working after some time...Sometimes to took 2 pills to fall asleep...but I couldnt...finally i tried this and it worked well for me...I was able to sleep for five hours without any interruption...This really decreased my anxiety and depression after having 4 days of sleep....Hope it continuous to work...
So insomnia could be a result of loneliness (he spent a lot of time in his room before like me) and depression as well. Pretty much just general unhappiness with one's current lifestyle I think could be a trigger for this. :-/

At first I wasn't sure about this...........but that sounds like a great idea. Although, I'm not sure how well I could do this.....especially with 2 jobs....it just seems hard.
Dominic is a cool chap -- used to watch him on gamemaster on TV I get insomnia in waves it goes on few days and then suddenly my sleeping patterns correct it self ( back to normal )
firebird, I extended my sleep to 6:30 and I didn't even wait the 24 days. At that point I started to regress so I'm back to 6:00 for now. I think it may be a bit of a process but I certainly sleep better and longer.
I'm still in shock I tried this I set myself the restriction of not going to bed until midnight and getting up at 6, and it worked! Actually it was better because at 11.30pm after not sleeping for two days I couldn't keep my eyes open. I woke up once but went back to sleep again, and woke up this morning at 6.30am feeling human again!
I have just started this program after many tortuous years of insomnia. It seems to actually work! My question is what does one do after the 24 days? Are further adjustments in order?
@RPS1 What about lengthening the amount of time that your restriction period lasts for so if you're doing 6 hours on your programme you could try lengthening it by 15 mins each side until you're doing 8 hours?

So insomnia could be a result of loneliness (he spent a lot of time in his room before like me) and depression as well. Pretty much just general unhappiness with one's current lifestyle I think could be a trigger for this. :-/

it's nice to know im not the only one... the longest i've gone without sleep is 2 days.. its was horrible :P i had to miss school the second day and still couldnt sleep until nighttime. hope fully this works!

It's 5:40am here and as always, I can't sleep. I'm 25 and have had chronic insomnia all my life. I'm going to try this and hope for the best...

hmm might try this...although i feel like a total train wreck if i only have 6 hours of sleep...
Or more 2 hours twisting and turning and waking up freakin 1000 times a night...maybe in those 6 hours i might be able to get 3-2 hours sleep...all the rest would be wasted to trying to sleep...
Arg totaly envy all those people who lie their head down and fall into a deep sleep after only 5 mins

I had the Same thing and there is one thing that work the Best of all that is ((EFT)) and it das so Good to sleep well ((((((EFT))))))) have a look here on YOUTUBE.

"Is there anybody who's been addicted to sleeping pills, got over it and sleeps normally? I stopped taking my pills 4weeks ago (very little or no sleep). I can't wait anymore. Dominic is a cool chap -- used to watch him on gamemaster on TV I get insomnia in waves it goes on few days and then suddenly my sleeping patterns correct it self ( back to normal )

firebird, I extended my sleep to 6:30 and I didn't even wait the 24 days. At that point I started to regress so I'm back to 6:00 for now. I think it may be a bit of a process but I certainly sleep better and longer.

I'm still in shock I tried this I set myself the restriction of not going to bed until midnight and getting up at 6, and it worked! Actually it was better because at 11.30pm after not sleeping for two days I couldn't keep my eyes open. I woke up once but went back to sleep again, and woke up this morning at 6.30am feeling human again!

@RPS1 What about lengthening the amount of time that your restriction period lasts for so if you're doing 6 hours on your programme you could try lengthening it by 15 mins each side until you're doing 8 hours?
