why do we have to mess with nature?genetics are cool, being able to change DNA and create something new, but the idea of changing isnt good. humans arent suppose to have a population this large, and if we produce designer babies with super health and super intelligence, imagine how much more humans there will be! the earth is comming to its peak of how much it can hold and adding newer, healthier babies is a bad idea. disease and such are bad, but it helps keep the population down, which is good

I am for Therapeutic cloning because it has the potential to save countless lives and is a great advancement in science. I am also for biotech crop because with the growing demand of alternative fuled vehicles and the price of food growing quickly, being able to produce a large amount of food to support the worlds needs will ensure the stability of our economy. As for designer babies, i am against that. The cons and negatives are far too superior to any pros that may come of it.

Hey

I'm for Biotech. As long as problems can eventually be weeded out, it's a lot more efficient. I'm pretty much against anything cloning due to ethical issues. For example in the movie "The Island" an organ cloning company claimed they were only cloning organs when they were actually cloning people and harvesting the organs. I'm also against designer babies cause if humans had all same traits one virus were could take us out. It's our diversity that kept us alive for so long.

i think this is a good thing. there are risks with any type of sergery or transplant, if it is possable then i see no problem with it. just as with the topic of designer babies the same must be said, the choice of weather or not to do it will be made by the person its getting done to. if there were no onther choices i'm sure any one would be glad to be able to have this as an option.

Designer babies-

One view is a scientific one that looks to better the qality of human life. The other point of view is one that comes from the natural understanding of human creation. I prsonly disagree with any type of genetic modifacations who's purpose is anything other than keeping a baby healthy. I don't care one way or another because the truth is even if this was possable, the choice is still the parents and its up to the parents to either play god or accept gods gift of life.

I am positively for therapeutic cloning because using stem cells to study human development can save so much lives. despite the fact that tumors have occured, stem cell research can help prevent/cure diseases, and thus make our country economically dominant.

As far as Designer Babies go, i would not alter my babies characteristics. i strongly believe that when two adults reproduce, their child represents the characteristics of both tho mother and father. The baby represents the love one another have for eachother. and no matter, what the baby turns out to look like, the same amount of love should be given to this baby no matter if its short, tall, blue eyes, brown eyes, etc. I would however, alter my babies genes to prevent birth deffects/diseases.
