  • Can you tell me if this procedure will work with a Seagate harddrive ST3320813AS with firmware SD23 ?

  • Sorry man cannot help you, you have to google it and search in the seagate forums!

Maybe the procedure will work or maybe it needs other commands for your drive :-)

  • hello kapetro1

you dont disconnect the pcb from the head or motor contacts?

  • I have put a stock card between the head and the pcb. That is the first job to do. You don't have to screw the three bolds on the pcb near the head. Hope that helps!

  • thank you very much!! i used this (and other web resources) to fix my faulty Seagate drive. thank you very much for the time and effort to create this video. let's all never buy seagate again :-)

  • I'm clad to help you !!!

  • dude how do you update the firmware for the seagate hard drive the fuckin website is shit

  • Go to the download section of your drive, or search in the forum.

  • yeah bro my drives aint listed there. Its this model ST31000340AS im grateful for this video however thank you sir its helping im just waiting for the tools to come in. just one more question has your hdd suffered any problems after the update? is this permanent fix?

  • Just use the drivedetect and the disk wizard to see if there is a firmware update.

Didn't had any problems since the update. I also updated my second identical drive, that wasn't in the BSY state.

  • Go to the Barracuda drives-firmware updates.

Then click on topic 207957 scroll down and there is your topic 207951.
