  • i've putted 6:44

  • 6:44- i trained my 4 month German Sheperd puppy an easier way. they can walk through easily if they do an short run, so with the speed they jump and transposes the bar more easily

  • @rockmik1, I'm not sure exactly what part of the video you are talking about? Can you put the time? 2:20 or something like that???

  • @rockmik1, at 6:44 I am doing the one jump training. My instructor want low impact on our young puppies to keep their bones healthy. So she wants us to start with the low bar and NO running. That way it's the puppy's muscles that get used as they have to lift up and over the bar.

Learning to use their entire body (and tail) to go straight up and then curl around for body awarness and strength. It's not about just flinging their body over the jump but LEARNING to jump.

  • FYI, Harnesses tend to invoke a pulling instinct in some animals.. Adding the harness doesn't help prevent pulling, unless it's an anti-pull harness designed to prevent it by adding pressure and discomfort to their body. The harness lets them use their whole body weight to do the work, which is why they were created for use in working breeds in the first place..

  • @JSGayMusic , you are right! The reason we are encouraged to use harnesses is class is because we WANT the pulling! I know, that's crazy :) . This isn't an 'obedience' and control type class. It's a 'building drive and enthusiasm' type class. Using the harnesses helps with this cause the pups CAN pull and not injure their necks!

  • @Maggieroselee ohhhhh haha I misunderstood the comment in the video. My appologies =)

  • @JSGayMusic I'm glad you posted if it was confusing in the video! :)
